Stone Cold's late 90s version is his peak. He transcended wrestling and was the biggest draw for the company, and he had that aura of a global megastar. The 🐐
Stone Cold’s rise from 97 to 99 is one my favorite version of him. ICONIC feuds with Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock and of course Vince McMahon sky rocketed him into one of the GOATS of professional wrestling 💯
The greatest of all time. This man rescued the company. WWF in 98-99 was not-miss tv because of him. The merchandise, the ring gear, the goatee and bald head, the catchphrases, the character work, all on point. Incredible.
I honestly prefer how Adam booked it: 1. DON’T 2. If you HAVE to do it, don’t have him join forces with his arch rival boss & the man who wanted to turn him into roadkill. Have him align with Eric Bischoff instead. Turn HHH into the anti-hero standing up against their Alliance, along with the likes of Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Kane, & finally The Rock when he returns from Hollywood. You could have him dispose of the WWF Big Eagle title for the WCW Big Gold title & banish some of the top stars from the company by beating them. Shane McMahon reveals that Bischoff was actually his secret partner in the sale of WCW. Make Stone Cold, Bischoff, & Shane a villainous anti-WWF group because of their justified hatred for Vince McMahon (like Mr. Negative & Doc-Ock despising Mayor Osborn in Spider-Man PS4). You could end the heel experiment after SummerSlam with him dropping the title to The Rock, shaking his hand, then stunning Bischoff & Shane because he realizes he doesn’t need anyone. Then you can jump straight into the Invasion with Bischoff bringing in the NWO & bringing back WCW shows like Nitro & Starrcade when his team wins WarGames to give him control over WWF. HHH switches sides because The Kliq are involved now & he was closer to them than the McMahons. Hollywood Hogan beats The Rock for the world title at some point to keep the WCW World Heavyweight Championship alive. Eventually bring in Goldberg & Sting (if Sting agrees this time) for showdowns with The Undertaker. Vince & Bischoff have a shoot promo battle right before WM18. The McMahon family regain power as babyfaces after the WWF talent win more WM matches than the WCW talent. Stone Cold vs. Hulk Hogan finally happens in the main event when Austin scores the final point to bring back the WWF Championship (coming full circle to undo the chaos he helped start the year before). Vince then swerves everyone by making Bischoff the RAW GM instead of firing him because he realized he’d rather have a SOB working for him than working against him.
Stone Cold saved WWE, one of the greatest of all time. Even LA Knight is inspired by him. Heck I'm inspired by Stone Cold, that is why he is the greatest of all time.
Always sad looking back at the Hollywood blonds. Him and pillman were really good friends. The chain that Austin wore most of his career was a gift from pillman
10:58 Here we go with one of my favorite Ross Reaction to one of my favorite Stone Cold moments ever. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can imagine myself doing that to Roman every time he either goes *"Acknowledge Me!"* or when he raises that stupid-ass belt in front of the crowd. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He got over with me after his famous match with Bret Hart where he passed out in the sharpe shooter😮...that image will never be forgotten!!💯..side fact..in 2005 we named my son Steve after Stone Cold coz he such a impact on my teenage years!!🖕🖕🖕 My son plays UK Drill and i have heard so many Stone Cold Bars in these tracks it goes to show even 20 years later he still the man!!🔥🔥🔥
Stone cold was the actual reason I watched wrestling still to this day and As far as Austin's heel run in 01 he would he wished he never have done that to rightfully way and still he definitely felt was necessary cause it was just what he was feeling yet it's something to remembered whether who likes it or not
I, too, was skeptical about Steve fighting Owens at WM. The Rock was the perfect storybook ending to his in ring work, and almost 20 years of not doing a live match was a recipe for disaster. But damn did they prove me wrong. And it was extra special for me since I was very young during his hayday, and my folks weren't really fans of pro wrestling, so I had to rely on WWE network to get my fill of the attitude era. So to see him win a live match was so sweet
I was young enough at the time that his mania heel turn worked great for me. I remember being so pissed when him and Trips won all the titles at Backlash
I love them all but baby face Stone Cold was my favorite. He is the best superstar ever. At that time he single handedly put the company on his back at the time and made the best wrestling program. #what#andthatsthebottomlinecausestonecoldsaidso
When Steve turned heel; 70% of us just would not boo Steve no matter what. The heel turn I agree, was more of comedy turn for Stone Cold from his intensity character from pre-2000
When I first started watching wrestling, I always knew something was awesome about Austin, even though I booed him (I was a Ricky Steamboat kid). His rivarly with Bret Hart solidified his GOAT status with me.
Ross I’m the same as you, Stone Cold was & is still my favourite wrestler of all time and I’ve been a fan since WM3! But the thing that made Stone Cold the best was because of Vince McMahon and the screw job. Everybody hated Vince and Austin was that smart to think everybody who has ever worked has had a boss 1 time that they would love to hit! Lol! That’s why he became the G.O.A.T in my eyes and Cornette has said it before not only did WWE have 1 mega star, they had 2 with The Rock and it’s NEVER happened before or since. Thank you for doing ur videos cause when u go into a fit of laughter, it makes me crack up with laughter aswell. Steven Waters Johnstone Scotland
Just for the record, Austin never worked for, and therefore was never fired from a job by the company FedEx. He was fired by Eric Bischoff from WCW via FedEx.
Stone Cold Steve Austin saved the WWF/E from going out of business 💯... My favorite version is 98-99 even though I loved his chemistry with Eric Bischoff as co-GM 😁... #GOAT
peak austin was him in 2000-2001 when he returned from injury and he wanted the title back any means possible even when he turned heel he done the best promo work with the two man power trip
He wasn’t fired FROM fed-ex, he was fired BY fed-ex. When it says Bischoff didn’t fire him in person, it’s bc he sent a fed-ex package to him, firing him from WCW, a lot like how CM Punk received his firing on his wedding day from WWE
I have to say not only did he bring like the mainstream media fans he brought an store generation with him like you wanna talk about middle class you wanna talk about a wrestler that represented US I’m not talking about the poor man naw I’m talking blue collar worker we talking the middle class he’s so good at bringing that reality of having a boss and what that’s like like back in those days is when the middle class was booming I don’t think the middle class has been front and center since then tbh . That’s talking economic and status and all that goes into it . That’s why he’s my goat because he is the definition of what the middle class was if you was for example working at USS steel and your son was a wrestling fan you not gravitating towards the rock because he was privileged by his dad stone cold embodied the lil man trying to make an honest day work type of dude and not only that he had phisical mental toughness like that u need back then as a middle class worker he brought that to the front tbh . So yeah he’s my goat ok yeah Hogan was nice but I didn’t see his beggining as much as stone cold . To this day when it comes to my boss sometimes I want to just strait up stun them just for doing stupid sht . Like when they complain or a customer complains yeah I still want to just strait up stun them and low key Yes There should be a day reserved where we get one free stunner on the boss . I completely agree with Stone Cold on that one ☝🏾 too I’m firmly believer in that just one day to just absolutely raise hell in the office just one ☝🏾that’s all I need stone cold should make that a holiday National Stone cold day where if your a middle class worker you can stun ur boss . Cause they get to fire us and all that yeah . Hell yeah and now they wanna complain about workers and how we not doing this and that to hell with that I’m with stone cold we need a holiday that allows this and the police shouldn’t come to help either they just got to take it 😂 .
My fav top 10 1 Stone Cold Steve Austin &( Vince charter as rivalry)❤ 2 Broke Lesnar 3 Dean Ambrose (lunatic Years) 4 Undertaker 5 John cena 6 Randy Orton (legend killer) 7 Seth Rollins 8 Shawn Michael 9 Romain Reigns 10 Rey Mysterio

When he did not give a dam what he do
Baby face badass stone Cole is my favorite version
The badass Babyface! We need more of those!
1997-98 is my favorite. His fued with Bret Hart, Vince Mcmahon, and Shawn Michaels. Plus, his theme song during that time was fire.

I’d say 97-99 Austin is his peak. Didn’t care for his Heel Turn, I always felt it was unnecessary since he was getting pops no matter what

His heel run aged better overtime, and if u want to take it there in terms of in ring work and matches 2001 his best year in the company by far..
Faaaaacts bro
I love that 96-98 Stone Cold era. Especially with the Bret feud “You treat me like a dog and expect me to smile. You remind me of a jackass”
If you put the letter S in front of the Hitman, you have my exact opinion of Bret Hart.
I remember in 2004 when my dad first got me to watching Stone cold as a kid, to me personally he Will always be one of my top favorites.
My favorite version of Austin is him with the Disturbed Version of His Theme
Stone Cold is The Goat 🐐💯
My favorite version of Stone Cold was once he got the knee brace and the jacket, that look was so Iconic to me. He was and is an absolute badass!
I'll always remember he started the "BOORRRIING" chant at my very first RAW/WWE show in Dallas. Good ol days.
The best parts of stone colds heel run was the beginning “Austin is shaking hands with the devil himself!” And obviously the two man power trip
Honestly thank goodness The Curtain Call happened because we probably wouldn’t have Stone Cold in the Attitude Era
You guys please keeps these video reviews coming cause you guy do such a amazing job.
In the mid to late 90s WCW dropped the ball on a good percentage of their mid card talent, and WWE reaped the benefits big time by hiring the talent.
This was great! Had to like the original video!

His evolution from bret hart average wrestler to tough no nonesense badass. What an Austin!

Steve’s 2nd heel turn that happened at the Invasion PPV he hated it wit a passion
I, too, was skeptical about Steve fighting Owens at WM. The Rock was the perfect storybook ending to his in ring work, and almost 20 years of not doing a live match was a recipe for disaster. Stone cold standing toe to toe with the legend Mike Tyson proves to why he is the 🐐
Brian Pillman's son just debuted in NXT with the name "Lexis King"

Earliest "stone cold" character in 97 is my favorite
I love them all but baby face Stone Cold was my favorite. He is the best superstar ever. At that time he single handedly put the company on his back at the time and made the best wrestling program. #what#andthatsthebottomlinecausestonecoldsaidso

When Austin go to WWE, he have upgraded from eating a Raw Potato 🥔 to drinking Beer 🍺
