Smiley commy my homey!! Carniee
Thanks Frank, the fretboard may indeed be illogic, but your way of presenting and teaching is extraordinary and logic. After more than 60 years of playing our wonderful instrument you inspire me to practice and learn more. Thanks to the internet I met you. Regards Erling from Denmark.
Thanks!😊
A heartfelt "Thank You" from myself and all other self-taught players for these fundamental lessons.
well you're not self-taught anymore
Gold!
Thank you for counting all the ways to play something Frank lol. I never stopped to bother with that.
Exactly the exercise and class I have been looking for.
THANK YOU for great lessons
Great teacher. Nice and slow and explaining in basic English. KIS keep it simple…
As usual, excellent instruction by Frank! Miss seeing you brother! CAAS 2023 is coming up. Would love to see you there again soon! Hedgehog Music Showcase in Arcadia Indiana misses you too! Miss Vinnie too!
Thank you again, Frank, for another fantastic lesson. You have been an inspiration for quite some time.
Totally Amazing... I will learn the fret board..... yes.. won't be easy.... I'm learning this.... Thanks Frank... logic

The guy is a HORRIBLE teacher.
I love it! You make something boring interesting again. Just mechanically practicing scales
has limits, as you aren't actually thinking. This way we challenge our brain, and train our ear.
Love the lesson plan😂
good morning Sir i really like your lesson.
Hmmm...just found your channel on RUclips and I subscribed. Very interested in the lesson your putting together. I want to thank you so much for your time with these videos.
I like da Polly on da ba drop
coolest dude ever
Excellent lesson. Very thorough....will get me off my lazy ass😂.
After playing the guitar, for years, I came to the realization that it may be the hardest instrument to play. With all the note choices, all the various techniques, and the physicality needed to play the guitar. Perhaps it is the most difficult.
And that's just in standard tuning.
You're right it's not easy. On the other hand try that same line on the next hip Hammond B3 player with whom you speak, lol.
Glad you’ve played all the instruments and can say that with authority.
Try pedal steel.
Or violin. You’ll spend 3000 hours on the violin just to pull a good tone.
@@procarpenter1788 No argument, but your observation is only a variation on my response to to the@alanwebbguitar comment isolating the guitar as "the hardest instrument". Lot of spectrum out there, my musical friend.
Played the piano my whole life. Guitar is way harder. Played saxophone for five years. Guitar is way harder. :)
4:36…”whatever fret that is”😂
"If you look up the fingerboard when you're high, right..."
When studying the instrument itself, I prefer a metronome (over a drum machine) because of its lack of style.
(added) I also notice how you let the notes ring the full time between clicks.
I thought it was Steve Vai playing an archtop! Man those two look so alike!
Man, I saw the same thing!
@@stephenjshelton8377 LOL! They need to get together! That would be real cool!!!
Da shoe
but I need to understand how play jazz cords
Hello…question about sheet music. How does one know/choose where on the fret board to play a song when one is using/reading sheet music like one might find in a Real book or other sources of sheet music? And is there sheet music specifically written for guitar that tells one where on the fret board to play the song?
@Simrealism Thanks.
I wish the person who replied to you hadn't deleted their comment. I've been wondering the same thing about position on the fingerboard with sheet music.

Crikey, the intonation isn't too good on that guitar is it. Thanks for the lesson. I saw you (the trio) playing with Tommy Emmanuel about 10 years ago, and you were all superb players.
18:00 there's another brilliant solo player who tunes in 4ths: Tom Quayle

(I'm gonna stick with standard myself, as I like to play folk, blues, Beatles and sing, and not just lead !)
