I have purchased plenty from TEMU. I love all I bought. Clothing, shoes, kitchen items. Sewing, quilting ruler/templates and other sewing items. Phone charger disks, electric coffee warmer disks too. Great things. Good quality. I have been buying for over one year.
You do have to watch their prices. They advertise coupons but when you Look at your cart price the cheaper price is not what you are paying. Shipping used to be free when you spent $10, now, it just changed to $15.
If you put a product in your cart and don't check out immediately, it can be either higher or lower if you return so I always do a second search for the item before I buy. I don't know if you know this, but after you receive your order you can do a price comp and if the item was sold cheaper before they will refund you the difference. It is an option they offer and I have used it before and got money back.
Sherry, my mom used fine crochet thread which required a tiny tip crochet needle for making lacy doilies. All her needles were metal. I still have a few of her needles. I can crochet some but all I've ever made were afghans. Mom could crochet like the wind. She was so talented.
My mom liked to crochet as well. She learned how to crochet in her older years and she made some really pretty doilies. I really haven't done much crocheting but it looks like fun. I like how many cute little animals one can make. It looks like a perfect thing to do when one is worn out from the more physical type of work. I made an embroidery bag with the pieces you sent. It will be in one of my next videos! Thank you for sharing your story with me and for watching my videos.
Just watched your video of that incredible embroidery case. WOW!! So thrilled to see the fabrics you purchased from my shop used to make that. Your creativity staggers my mind. You must never sit still, Sherry. ❤
We are all different and it is okay. Some people love seeing it opened...maybe its like Christmas for them or something....and after watching people make junk journals, apparently crinkle noises are sought after with a passion....so weird. My second Temu art haul is mostly all opened and a whole year worth of goodies if you are into art. ruclips.net/video/cM6RJGWkuA4/видео.html
I completely agree with. Yeah 35 minute video could be cut down to 20 minutes if we didn’t have to watch all the cellophane being stripped off the items so I appreciate your comment.
I always use one of my real rings to keep the yarn from slipping off my finger. I started crocheting about 55 years ago so I’m an old hand at crocheting. Looks like a good process for your haul. Everything has gone up in price a lot this past six months. So you can’t beat them.
I’ve been crocheting for 57 years and I don’t wear a ring never have probably never will. As a cross-stitcher I never cross stitch in hand. I always use a hoop, so it really is all about what you’re comfortable with.
I haven't bought from Temu yet, good tip though about using PayPal, I only use my PC and never connect my phone to the internet, I may have a little shop now. Hope you have mastered the crochet, took me a full day to grasp it and it is the best woolly thing I've done. I crochet a winter cardi every year, same pattern (Choosey Stuff) cos it's very easy. Love the fabrics you chose, yes orange! Thank you for the share.
I hope you find some goodies on Temu. If you don't like what you get, remember they will refund up to one item per order. I don't abuse their policy but the other day I bought a set of rugs that were just junk and Temu refunded me my money. I haven't had a go at crocheting yet but you've encouraged me! Thank you! I'd love to crochet things. Thank you so much for such a lovely post.
I plan to go to RUclips university for crocheting as well. My kit was not comprehensive but at least I have the supplies. I agree, I think I'll buy my yarn from Joanns or some other place though cause I've seen others who bought yard from Temu and it is not good. I saw a video titled something like how to unravel the yarn from a sweater to reuse and thought that might be fun as well. Upcycling my yarn sounds really adventurous.
Interesting haul, thanks. I must say that I cannot understand how buyers leave comments that an item is smaller (or larger) than expected. The advertised product invariably provides measurements in both metric and imperial. I get my tape out to check for sure before I order - no disappointments that way. I find the ads on Temu provide far more information than on other well known shopping sites. Also, if the price falls lower than when I purchased, I can claim back the difference within 30 days of the order - how many shopping sites offer that option. Free shipping too! Since most of products we have in the hightstreet come from China anyway, I have no issue with ordering direct and getting a lower price.
Oh my goodness! You may have helped me fix my problem! I just started sewing and learning on my own. My top thread keeps snaping and I am so frusterated. I have those needles needles from temu. If that is my problem I am, I should be good to go once I get a new needle. Thank you so much for mentioning that!
Thanks for the heads up; I just ordered before Christmas & get non-stop emails from them! I tried unsubscribing & that didn’t work! Just now, I deleted the App off my phone & hope that works. It’s confusing when ordering, whether it’s a free item or you’ll pay & how much quantity you’re paying for. I got a black bag like your brown shoulder bag & it is crinkly lining! Thanks for sharing! 🤗💕🇨🇦
I understand completely and plan to delete the app as well as soon as I finish the two games I'm playing on their app to win prizes. I'm so close that I hate to throw away my progress...ha ha. I prefer to shop on the pc though because the layout is different and it is way easier to see the sizes of things and read the descriptions and oftentimes the prices are cheaper and there is no coupon hassle and harassing emails...though some of them are quite hilarious. Thank you for sharing your story and your thoughts.
Some fabric were thin. Some were good. Temu has so much variety. I like all items I bought. If items are late they credit your account. Their prices have gone up now. I have also bought many diamond paintings from them and accessories. Great quality.
I like most of my items but I agree with you that you do have to be watchful and I think watching other people's hauls helps to find the better stuff. Also, I discovered heavier type items can be cheaper on Amazon so it is important to compare before purchasing.
The dimensions are usually there - Temu-AliExpress-Amazon. I have no sympathy for people who ‘think it would have been bigger’. If there are no dimensions don’t buy it. The internet has multiple sites to convert CM-Inches if you don’t understand metric. Your haul was great!
One of the things that I do when I shop online is put things in my cart and wait to check out. Often the vendor will either do a price reduction or send me a coupon. I always try to find the measurements before I order something. The measurements are often in metric which is confusing to a lot of Americans. if I can't find the measurements, I usually don't order the item.
Even when you buy from stores here in the USA you have no idea where in China the items are manufactured. VERY FEW retailers are committed to selling items from fair labor manufacturers.
With Amazon and other box stores selling the same items, they all could be doing it but we have no way of knowing that I know of. I feel like this makes Temu about the same as them all though because they all carry the same products. It is just that Temu is cutting out the middle man and that makes the prices so much lower. My concern was that the app stays running in the background and with the parent company of Temu caught collecting our personal data, I felt I need to warn everyone in case they didn't know.
I think you would be happier learning to crochet by making a straight project. such as a dish cloth, scarf or baby blanket. Amigurumi is challenging even for those of us with experience. I recommend The Crochet Crowd RUclips channel for learning to crochet. Mikey does a good job walking you through stitches and projects. I loved the haul. I too have been curious about felting. I would be interested in watching a video of you trying it out. I love the selection of buttons, zippers and trims that Temu has. Their long length zippers are a good quality for a fraction of the price that you would pay anywhere else. I too only use my PC and Paypal. Their phone app it too invasive for me.
I wondered if the crochet project would be too hard for a newbie. Thank you for the good advice. I really appreciate it and I will look up the channel you mentioned. My youngest daughter bought a felting kit a few years back and let me jab at it a few times but that is all that I've ever done. It was fun. I'm glad you liked the Temu haul. I'll keep their zippers in mind. Long zippers can be expensive. Thank you so much for watching my video and for sharing your story and advice with me! I greatly appreciate it!
I use my pc for everything I hate to navigate from my cell because I can see better on my big screen, but why would the coupons only be valid from the app? They insist you download their app, that seems fishy to me, if I purchase from my PC or from their app what difference does it make for them There must be a fishy reason they insist on the app and the coupons are not valid on the PC ? I also use paypal.
I did'nt hook a phone number up to my pc account. Perhaps if you did that, it would allow you to use the coupons. Yes, its fishy but such is the world we live in....it is all about surveillance and control.
Thanks for the warning at the beginning. I placed an order over a week ago and within hrs got a notification on my phone that Temu might be a suspicious app. I had never heard what u said before so I didn’t think twice about but now Im like wtf?! Also, did you use the fabric yet? What were your thoughts? I almost ordered some but worries about the quality.
It is difficult who to believe nowadays with Jeff Bezos funneling money into the current administration and his profits dropping etc.... I don't know if it is a legit threat or they are just missing major funding etc. I have not seen any actual legal issues filed against Temu but honestly, everyone is gathering data on us...especially our own government ....so the only one I trust is Jesus. Anyhow, I did use some of the fabric. I've used a lot of the smaller squares and they vary in quality but most are just fine. I may try some larger pieces from them. I noticed they sell 100 percent linen flat sheets too which would be fun to try and use as fabric. Hope your order turns out good and remember, if you don't like your items just go and try and leave a bad review and they will offer you a refund on your item and you can keep it for free. They only allow this up to a certain amount and I try and be as honest as I can be and not take advantage of it. Also, if they are late with your order they will give you $5.00 which I have had happen a couple of times. They were only a day late but they still gave it to me. So nice.
@@SherryJonesDesigns ok thanks. Good to know. My order actually came today and it was all ok (except a clasp on a keychain I bought but thankfully I have the materials to fix it).
As a garment and home Dec sewist and quilter, I cringed when you said you were going to pre-wash the 5 inch squares. I do not recommend that. It’s a definite no-no to wash any of the pre-cuts whether it’s a mini charm pack, charm pack, jelly roll, , jolly bar or layer cake, just don’t do it. Starch them- Yes; pre-wash them-absolutely not.
I'm not quilting with them but putting them on as patches on garments which I do not want shrinking on the garment. I prewashed them and they came out fine. So sorry if I worried or upset you.
Thank you for the great advice. I have heard other warnings about TEMU and I only buy from them through PayPal on my pc as well.
I love to watch a good shopping haul. It feels like I'm window shopping.
Me too!!
Me too! It gives you a truer sense of what things really look like.
I have purchased plenty from TEMU. I love all I bought. Clothing, shoes, kitchen items. Sewing, quilting ruler/templates and other sewing items. Phone charger disks, electric coffee warmer disks too. Great things. Good quality. I have been buying for over one year.

Thank you so much Donna. You are so sweet and yes, it is hard for me to sit still but as old age is approaching, it has become easier...ha ha
PayPal is definitely the way to go on any transactions over the internet.
The one thing that causes me not to watch Temu hauls is people don't have their multitude of items unwrapped before they make the video.
We are all different and it is okay. I taught myself to crochet from RUclips lol. I've found several hooks that I L💝VE. Their yarn is a nightmare. Thank you for the video!

Careful about the metal signs. They have amusing English interpretations. 😂😂

And are we concerned that Temu's factories are from an area of China known for its slave labor?

I bought a used shirt that someone had used Super Glue to hold the buttons on. I could not get those buttons off without cutting the shirt.
Wow! I've never had that happen to me. I would have never even thought of it.
Only buy online. Do not use the app. There is a you tube video on it.
I like the noise no worries. ❤❤
