Partagez vos commentaires ! ⬇ ➡ Book your trial session with a native French tutor on LanguaTalk: bit.ly/3StD8Zo
I'm new to your channel and although I've only watched a few videos, I can already see that it's fantastic. It was a great idea with practicing listening without subtitles; my level is still quite low, so I had to force myself to listen and try to understand. Knowing the content already, I will now try listening again, it should be easier now. I like how clearly you speak both French and English. I use AI a bit as an aid, I find it a useful tool, but I also encountered many mistakes, for instance in the GPT chat conversation. I haven't tried voice chat yet, but I'll probably give it a try because I'm very shy and it might be easier for me to start with. But as I say, to start with; later will come the time to get out of my comfort zone.
Excellent commentaire ! I think AI conversation tools allow learners to at least take this step of speaking in the target language. It's not an easy thing to do, to put yourself out there!
Super vidéo, merci! I subscribed to Langua/Languatalk last month, and it comes close to my ideal AI-based platform for learning French. Being mostly a beginner though, it could use some enhancements: 1) Allow complete response speed control. I know of the 'turtle' button but using it disrupts the conversational flow; I've asked Langua support to consider this for a future update. 2) If I need to respond in English because I simply don't know how to put my response in French, allow for automatic display of the French translation so I get the instant feedback, without having to click yet another (pencil) button, again interrupting the flow. Fortunately their AI responds to requests like 'Limitez vos réponses à 12 mots ou moins'! I'm so glad you've partnered with them, I enjoy your LTF episodes (including this one! :^), though understanding the French remains a frustrating slog for me. Maybe I just need another year or two of dedicated practice.. 🙃
Merci beaucoup ! Thanks for the honest feedback! Those are great points :) I personally use the debate option in Langua, but also push my limits and have it chat with me using the 'chat with lots of slang' option. And my goodness, what a chellenge (in English)! I understand French is not an easy language to learn for English speakers, but it's great to know you're dedicated to it!🙂 Understanding French can be such a hard task, especially when you come across native speakers. I face the same challenge in English in a conversation with native English speakers (regardless of their country of origin). I still need a few seconds to process the information! Surprisingly, I'd say I've been having the most successful conversations with Australians! Go figure...
Thanks for this vedio on a very topical matter.Personally I prefer to use Google translate to correct spellings and grammatical errors but it invaraibly changes vous to tu and more embarassing conjugates past participles of passé composé as feminine in one line and masculine in next as perhaps AI is taught to be gender neutral. Also sometimes modifies the text to completely change the nuance. It is useful for removing mind blocks but one has to be very careful to avoid disastrous mistakes. Merci beaucoup

I agree, I've experienced this as well. That's why I think it's always good to double check. AI is not perfect!
