Lots of people use this method. I'm not against it but I don't use it myself. I believe the logic behind it is You start off high, you stay jumping high. You start off low, you stay jumping low. I dunno though...
Yeah pretty much. It's to let the horse know what it can do and give it the confidence. Once you have enough impulsion in your trot you should be fine over the fences :) Don't put all your trust in what I'm saying though xD I've been riding for years but I'm only 14 :P
Liana Kelly yeah I mean I hate trotting fences and I'm almost 17 lol have been riding for years just for methat would scare the horse if they mess up than they will have a hard time with jumping, startsmall and work way up :D
the horse is obviously not green green at jumping. is not rushing at all, not stressing, just coming nicely over the jump. he probably has a lot of training beside and you know show jumping at the end of 4yo is 1m. so 70 cm won't hurt him aha.
wow this horse is a natural jumper! takes to them easily
Has this horse jumped before?! If not, well, I'm mind blown.
I love the poles on the landing side to teach straightness! Definitely going to do this with my youngster
wow! The mare went over the fences so nicely! even better than some I've seen who have been jumping for ages at my stable!
The horse isn't green. For it to be a novice and this good means you've obviously used a fairly good jumper.
ok when i tought my horse to ump it was like tiny x's and the horse had no idea what was happeneing
1:10 splaat!! haha
okay one question. why did you raise the jump to like 2'6"-2'9"? i mean its a green horse and your having her trot it?!?!?!

Liana Kelly ah or test the horse and let it know it can? :) I barely like trotting a 2' fence, just don't feel like I have enough momentum
