I actually prefer that old VBS braking system. I like buying these budget reels and then tinkering with it (my hobby). Don't need ceramic spool bearings. Just flush and re oil with thin oil. I then install bearings on the knobs, worm gear, and driveshaft. Souped up cheap reel that will perform like a reel that's double its price!
I got both a Phenix Feather and a Phenix m1. Amazing rods and the lightest I felt. I got the Caius on my Phenix M1 and I just bought it because of its weight only being 6.5oz! My feather I got a Daiwa Tatula SV TWS103 which also weighs only 6.5oz too but is a bit more than the Caius lol.
Its probably not going to last that long frogging with its carbon frame and those havw always had the mo of not lasting that long when fished hard. I suggest if youre a baitcast person (not a beginner) just spend another 20$ and get a slx it will last a lot longer with the aluminum frame.
@@TylerBrinks I don't use shimanos for frog fishing lol where I'm at the vegetation gets really thick so most shimanos don't have the drag power needed and slip causing me to lose fish. I use a lews or abu garcia with higher drag poundage. I use a few shimanos though for other techniques. I want the new version of the bantam but that dang things pricey lol maybe I get one for Christmas this year lol
