    • @MichaelJShaffer
      @MichaelJShaffer 5 лет назад +2

      You do realize how big the model would be? If the refit (at 1:350 scale) is almost 3 feet long, the D (at 1:350 scale) would be over twice that length (over 6.5 feet long). As amazing as it would be to see, only a handful of people have homes/doors/openings) large enough. Even Paramount stopped using the large scale shooting model, as it was too cumbersome.

Of all the things to get wrong they managed to screw *that* up? Not good for being their show piece. 1:1,000 scale is great, we just need the C and E in that scale then all the Starship Enterprises will be available in 1:1,000 scale, Round 2 make the NX, TOS, refit/a and B in 1:1,000 scale alongside many of the other well known ships, so 1:1,000 scale is fine.
      Unfortunately this is not a replica of the 4 foot ship, the details are all wrong, it looks like the 6 foot D, the 4 foot had a lot more surface detail than the 6 foot or this model, especialy visable when looking at the lower saucer in a commonly used piece of stock footage, and on this the lower saucer is far too smooth

For a Round 2 kit I can understand, but for the cost they are charging for this they are relying heavily on those decals to sell detail which is a cheap shortcut if you ask me. Helios in Germany is currently shipping a 1/650 kit, but you'll never be able to afford it. You can commission a professional model maker to make you an extremely detailed AMT 1/1400 Ent-D kit build, exceeding the quality in this video, for a reasonable price

      The Eaglemoss/Fanhome subscription model is garbage, and costs thousands. Better off learning how to build models properly. Or you could set a couple thousand bucks on fire for fun, and still have enough left over to pay a model maker to build an extremely high quality AMT 1/1400 kit for you@@Anth230

    This model is awesome! We had the Star Trek experience visit Phoenix and I must say I was disappointed in the quality of the small models they had on display. They were bad, really bad. If you had bought the Revell kits and just glued them together they would have looked better than what was on display. I wish I could have taken pictures but the only pictures you could get had to be paid for, another way it sucked. (It wasn't all bad. They did have the full size Enterprise D bridge set up and had the scaled down saucer section from Star Trek Generations, which was cool.)

    I hope the actually production models will have a better finish than that display prototype. You can see pylons are drooping and the windows roughly drilled out and the impulse engine painted over in grey!
    Also, it is SO a Generations version. You can easily tell from the little greebly at the aft, top, end of the nacelle. Those were added for Generations.

    This unit was 3D printed. The production unit will be resin and fibreglass, so it won’t be printed like this. I’m sure all the flaws will be taken care of. Though I’m not sure why he thinks this is the 4ft model when it’s clearly the 6 footer.

    Looks okay except I think the saucer is a bit too thin, the warp engine struts look a little droopy, and that secondary hall seam line doesn't look quite level. This thing is like what, 1000 or $2,000? It's a four digit number, but if you have a little bit of skill and some patience you could just buy a model kit, build it, paint it, throw in some LEDs, slap some decals on that mofo and BAM! You probably have a better looking replica than this and for substantially less money. Sure, it's a lot of work. If you want to do it right be prepared to spend some time and do some research on a project like that, but boy o boy it's a lot of fun once you've got the hang of it.
