I have an idea for the elytra thing. Add enderman brutes. This variant of enderman is just like piglin brute to piglins. They are ALWAYS hostile to you and have more health and take less damage AND deal more damage, just like piglin brutes. In my opinion, this challenge has a reward worth it. And mix this idea with Striikeyy's idea with the elytra fragments too because I also really like that idea.

As a fan though I will respect your decisions as long as theyre not morally wrong. I hope the reason for selling copies of the mod was done with innocent reasons, will definitely give the mod a try sometime! Cheers!
Hey uhh what about the many other mods that do the exact same thing as other features like mods that generally tweak the game, xp tome and others? It's nice that the mod is free now after getting dogged on for putting a paywall on a minecraft mod. (which is against EULA, but I'm *sure* you already know that) I'm just saying it's a bit weird that these "hard to code in" features are basically just straight. up. copies. of other mods and their features. If you really spent 100$ on this mod then I think you got straight up scammed :/
Not sure why you're getting so much hate. The reason you made the video was to improve Minecraft as a whole which is good for the whole community. I think it's good that your video got criticism as it allows you to refine your ideas and make them more acceptable for every player base within Minecraft. You're basically beta testing ideas that the Mojang team can one day decide if they want to implement.
Well, it failed on doing so, minecraft is a sandbox game, not an RPG game that has a linear storyline and shit that's locked from you until you do something, and the video had some lies too, and he overrestimated the ancient city, minecraft's a sanbox game, you can do whatever you want, but it's not a rpg game like Jet thinks it is
that’s exactly how I think about it. although a lot of it comes in from a standpoint of pure hatred, I really try to understand what they’re saying and use that feedback when moving forward. also, intention does not always equal execution. my intentions were not bad in any way when it came to my last video, but my presentation was seriously botched and i’m gonna do better in the future 👍
You are still clearly breaking the EULA and doing something illegal. Even though you made it free, you are still charging for early access to mods… mods for a game you don’t own the IP for. This still violates copyright law and you can still get in major legal trouble for this. Also the fact that this video wasn’t on your main channel is scummy imo. It’s like you are intentionally trying to hide that you were/are in the wrong.
I can agree that him not posting this on his main channel is scummy but you won’t get copyrighted for making mods. Mods are been out for years also you can kinda charge for mods due to the minecraft marketplace kinda blame them there. Also Jet should of added more features because he is in the wrong making a small mod and making it cost money thats why its wrong.
I’m personally glad that you made the mod free because there’s no way I’d be able to justify to my parents paying some dude 8$ a month just for a Minecraft mod
Thank you for the change this is awesome! But I’m sorry that you’ve been attacked for charging for the mod there is nothing wrong with that it’s your work and you shouldn’t feel ashamed.
Any Mods you create for Minecraft: Java Edition from scratch belong to you (including pre-run Mods and in-memory Mods) and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't sell them for money / try to make money from them and so long as you don’t distribute Modded Versions of the game.
I was watching someone react to your most recent video and it was actually so bad, they wrote off your entire vid as a "scummy ad for an illegal mod" and nothing else
W response surely better to make it free but still give patreons some benefits as seeing the earlier versions and other stuff maybe link your patreon in the mod like most of the modders do with a button
I'd like to be as genuine as I can possibly be, and I do not care whether or not if this is actually looked at or not, but I'd like to at least say some things that come to mind for both that video and this one: - You've made the mod free, but aside from that if every other future mod is going to need to be paid for $8 a month even if just for only early access then that still is breaking Minecraft's EULA. Even if you'll eventually put it out to be free, you are still breaking Minecraft's EULA by having an early access paywall. If you do not believe me, then look at what happened to the Minecraft Physics mod. They had their mod out for free, but since they had features locked behind a Patreon paywall they were eventually forced by Mojang / Microsoft to make it all free. As well, nobody (as of now) will really know about the mod being free since the only acknowledgements of it are this 2nd channel you have (which isn't even linked to from your main one) and a new pinned comment on the video but likely at this point people aren't checking the video out as much / going back to it. - If you paid $300 to $450 for a mod that simply only changes a few variables / rarities and adds a few new items, you either got scammed out of $300 to $450 dollars or you're likely making up the number in hopes of making it look bigger than it actually is. All this mod adds currently is the rarity changes of two to three structures, adds a few crafting recipes and removes one, adds 3-5 "original" items that are either just resprites of already existing ones so far or slightly altered already existing sprites, adds some small features either to the new stuff or to already existing stuff (Horse armor durability, striders not getting cold, ice melting, etc. By the way, most of them are pretty much either a variable change or copy pasted code from an already existing thing come to think of it.), and tinkering with both the ore generation (An already existing feature for dripstone caves with copper, mesas with gold like you said, and mountains with iron). Unless there's an entire roadmap planned for it, that's certainly not worth $8 a month and certainly doesn't make many want to pay that much to earn so little. You can literally recreate most, if not all, of these things in MCreator for FREE might I add and without knowing how to even code (just how to know basic logics and ofc getting used to where's what). - If you want to make genuinely good ideas that people will agree with, and not just only yourself & a few other people if you're lucky, you first have got to understand the concept that Minecraft is a game about WANTing to do stuff, not NEEDing to do stuff. Aside from the need of getting to a certain tier of material in order to break a new set of blocks, the game really does not ever tell you that you should or shouldn't use this / that, or when you should or shouldn't do stuff. People don't explore because they NEED to, but more because they WANT to and is why it comes off as fun. A whole lot of mods (Alex's Caves, Create, Culinary Construct, The Joy of Painting, Farmer's Delight, etc.) are looked at by the community greatly for the fact they don't force you to NEED what they offer, rather offer more that you could WANT to try. Taking your ideas to count, a whole lot of it is forced to become a need in what you want it to be which then just causes even more problems. If the ancient city becomes locked behind the ender dragon essentially then there's no drive to want to go there and now it'd not really be a need to if by the time you can find it you likely have diamond / netherite already. If you have it be so essential materials are more common in every biome, it kills off the want of going to them for the sake of actual exploration and instead forces it to eventually become a need which just isn't fun. It'd be like making sniffers give you diamonds from time to time, it becomes less of a fun-driven want and more a grinding need. - If you want people to maybe have a better chance to agree with your takes / ideas, avoid being both self-absorbed or rude to things for lack of reasons even if it's "intended to be a joke." No one is going to want a mod from / listen to someone who either says they're the "second coming of Jesus Christ" or that you're doing better than Mojang will ever do in one update. Even then, say they do get what you want, and now you're in a position where the expectations you're going to have to meet are in their minds BEYOND Mojang's, and why maybe even Jesus Christ himself. Mess up once and you're going to immediately lose masses and maybe never get that chance again for a long while. As well, don't go and call people like builders essentially cowards who don't do anything when literally a third of what Minecraft is known for is for insane normal to redstone builds, you're just driving away an entire grand portion of the community by that point. Lastly, more just a heads up, try to avoid political / historic mentions or jokes entirely in the future as they can easily upset and annoy people (People certainly weren't happy to hear the same historic joke nearly eight or more times in a row, or at the very least didn't even find it funny so there's that). That's all, again I don't care whether or not you choose to listen to / go against / ignore it all, it's just a comment at the end of the day. Just made sense to speak what's on my mind instead of simply saying nothing.
Ignoring the mod part of the video, I don't understand the vast majority of comments that attacked the points you made. I see nothing wrong in trying to make things better in a game, so what if we want to give a use to currently useless things? You're not forced to use them in any way, it's a sandbox game, you can still play like how you've been playing always. Let those of us who demand more have more!
there are some points that give use to things that already have a use, but why would anyone want less functionality to something when they could have more?
@@tubbyidk1474 a good example is the division in the community of those who prefer the older combat system and those who like the newer combat there are people who like hunger and people who don't it's all preference and i think the beauty of minecraft is that you can play how you want with little interference
I sincerely think it would benefit you to step back and look at this in the context of the greater whole. Directing rage at anyone here is unkind and unwarranted. Unless he starts posting a forest of corpses or something, let's all give a little grace and hope for the best.
@troy-alanwilson4625 this comment doesn't seem to be made from rage. They seem more disappointed. Also, him making a profit off of the mod is illegal, and is stated as such in minecrafts terms of service. To say that the mods will have paid early access, means he really didn't learn anything. He is still getting paid for the mod, even if it is people paying for early access. It would be different if the offered content in exchange for profit was maybe early drafts of ideas or concepts for the mods, as they aren't actually mods, or even early access or sneak peaks at some of their scripts for future videos. But he didn't do that, and is essentially doubling down on something that could legally bite him in the ass. It's pretty disappointing to say the least.
Unfortunately, it isn't about it being fair, it's about the legality of it. Mods must be free, because Minecraft, who created the content being modded, has said as much in the TOS. Meaning it could possibly be illegal to ask for funds in exchange for a mod made by an individual. Even saying he will make early access to the mod, means he hasn't properly understood how this could be a problem.
I think you got way too much shit for this. Nobody usually reads the EULA, and most people probably didn’t know that charging for it breaks it until the RUclipsrs got in the way. He’s offering a full refund if you feel ripped off, and is making a whole video addressing it.
@@pvplegendoyeah no. Marketplace is run by Mojang and they get a percent of the profits from mods bought on there. This is a third party selling a mod without any permission. Actually illegal. I’d appreciate if you would educate yourself before trying to defend a point you know nothing about
that's what I thought before making my video as well. I had seen many others put plugins and maps and other minecraft-based projects on patreon before. the problem with putting mods up, however, is that your mod is only possible because of the free work of others; those who made fabric, fabric API, the logic we used for rail speeds, etc. by selling a mod built upon all of that labor, you're essentially taking advantage of their free work and getting paid for it.
it's fine if you didn't like my video, but I did not make it just to sell the mod. the mod was an afterthought I had after writing the full script without it (the original plan was to make that video exactly like my "why minecraft isn't fun anymore" video and just suggest features mojang could add. after reading comments asking for those features to be made into a mod, I decided to do that for my exploration video. after getting in touch with a developer, the price he quoted me was $300. (this later because $450 due to extended development time we didn't expect.) although I could afford to pay this out-of-pocket, I knew I wanted to make bigger, more complicated mods in the future, and I wasn't looking forward to pouring my money into this modding project when my main focus is and always has been making videos. so, in order to pay for the creation of this mod and others, I made a patreon. I'd seen many others put plugins, builds, and even mods similar to this one on their patreons, so I saw nothing wrong with it. the plan was never to use the mod as a cash generator; I simply wanted to make my money back from the mod and then put the rest towards making more, which I still plan on doing. but after seeing community backlash and speaking to several people with years of experience in the modding space, I realized this was both disappointing for the viewer and unethical to do. since my mod is only possible because of all the people before me making their stuff for free; fabric, fabric api, and the logic we used for rail speed was all free work that we were able to use for our mod. me going and charging money for that mod is pretty shitty. while I didn't realize this at the time, I did after speaking to experienced modders, and that's why I've decided to make this mod free. I'm not trying to dodge anything or "wash this off", I'm trying to make things right and make videos/mods in a more ethical way moving forward. you may not believe me, but that's the truth.
this is such a shortsighted view of the original video, though. believe it or not, some people make content for the love of the media and for fun, and not everything is driven by money. and he said from the get-go that the mod would be free, so why would you make a 30 minute video advertising a soon-to-be-free "product?" don't make sense lol

For $8 you can get many great games on their own, and even minecraft was on sale for less than 20 recently. So I think that’s for the better.
W, that's so great you have released it for free!!
These are fair changes and I understand you. Besides that, I would love to see what new ideas you have in mind.
Sadly I play on bedrock so I can’t get the mod, but I feel that this is a huge win for the overall community. Thank you JettStarfish
Aight dawg, that was nice of you, especially the refunds for your patreon, shows a maturity that is appreciated.
Keep cooking !
Yeah no the only reason he’s giving refunds and making it free is because he knew he could get sued if he didn’t. What he did was straight up illegal
You are a fucking legend
I get why you cahrged for it but having it free is amazing
One problem give those who bought the mod a full refund
Anyplans to port the mod to Neoforge?
I really want to play this mod, but my modpacks are Forge/Neoforge only, as most major mods are on Neoforge in 1.21+
Very proud of you for doing this Jet, thanks for the update!
(The elytra) And the increased difficulty with their teleportation powers is a perfect endgame challenge to take on. It fits endgame.
And mix this idea with Striikeyy's idea with the elytra fragments too because I also really like that idea.
why not call them enderfiends or something of that sort, kinda like the endermites.
@@SporianSummit how about ender brute. I want it to have "brute" in the name because brute means stronger and more powerful.
@@RandomGamer- enderbeast works too, or hell, we could have slow, powerful and tanky (way less knockback outside of the mace if you can get it, but that still isnt knocking back as far as a weapon against a normal mob) classed as an enderhulk? enderbrute works too for a name too
@@SporianSummit yeah
@@SporianSummit less knock back would be cool too
trying to sell the mod to minor audience was a bad idea from the very beginning 😅
>sees video about how the mod isn't paid anymore
>looks inside
>still shills paid mod that breaks TOS
Yeah you got caught in your lies and scam and had to backtrack.
Glad you weren’t overcomed by greed! Also will you update this mod to later version’s like 1.21? Because having it only on 1.20.4 feels very limited..
nice to know someone didnt watch past the 0:20 mark before commenting
I’m impressed with this response, and I wish you the best going forward! I think you should be able to make some money for the effort you put in (and the mod developers), and i think the patreon perks you outlined here are more than worth paying for.
we beefing tho
good on you for taking feedback seriously
Thank you so much for making it free-I’ve been wanting to play JBE ever since you made the initial video, but I couldn’t up until now.
While I do agree that putting it behind a paywall is sort of wrong, it's still sort of a gray area since you did pay for the mod to be made but at the same time you could have not done that. As a fan though I will respect your decisions as long as theyre not morally wrong. I hope the reason for selling copies of the mod was done with innocent reasons, will definitely give the mod a try sometime! Cheers!
Putting a paywall was illegal as stated in the EULA that almost nobody read... Physics mod dev had to remove paywall because of that
@@lolous-studio yeah bro ive been playing before you were even born. Also almost everyone knows that, its like the second rule next to digging down
That one poor soul: what about bedrock players?
Downfall of an L youtuber
Hey uhh what about the many other mods that do the exact same thing as other features like mods that generally tweak the game, xp tome and others? It's nice that the mod is free now after getting dogged on for putting a paywall on a minecraft mod. (which is against EULA, but I'm *sure* you already know that) I'm just saying it's a bit weird that these "hard to code in" features are basically just straight. up. copies. of other mods and their features. If you really spent 100$ on this mod then I think you got straight up scammed :/
Wise choice dude
You should do a reaction of people’s criticism. Cause some of it is unwarranted
Plz update it for 1.21 i beg u man
Question, can I comment about Why I don’t like Minecraft impossibly now, later, or never in this or a later video?
You are still clearly breaking the EULA and doing something illegal. Even though you made it free, you are still charging for early access to mods… mods for a game you don’t own the IP for. This still violates copyright law and you can still get in major legal trouble for this. Also the fact that this video wasn’t on your main channel is scummy imo. It’s like you are intentionally trying to hide that you were/are in the wrong.
Agreed. Also W pfp
That’s the paragraph
I heard a Ryan Gosling mod could happen. Make it happen, I need to play as myself in Minecraft
(He’s just like me fr)
why are there so many comments about this
Woo Beta Minecraft!
so fun fr
While I had my criticisms that I haven't shared and don't plan to share, I respect that you take action and try to do better next time!
So that month break of no mod development does that include the 1.20.1 and 1.21 versions of JBE?
no it does not, we’re already getting to work on them
I was watching someone react to your most recent video and it was actually so bad, they wrote off your entire vid as a "scummy ad for an illegal mod" and nothing else
Cool Minecraft Beta gameplay
Good thing I pirated it.
W response surely better to make it free but still give patreons some benefits as seeing the earlier versions and other stuff maybe link your patreon in the mod like most of the modders do with a button
He saved himself from a Watcher situation lol
I'd like to be as genuine as I can possibly be, and I do not care whether or not if this is actually looked at or not, but I'd like to at least say some things that come to mind for both that video and this one:
- You've made the mod free, but aside from that if every other future mod is going to need to be paid for $8 a month even if just for only early access then that still is breaking Minecraft's EULA.
Yeah
Watch him ignore this completely lol
hey man, love your videos, you have a lot of potential to be big!
just do your research a little bit better next time.
Let those of us who demand more have more!
there are some points that give use to things that already have a use, but why would anyone want less functionality to something when they could have more?
gotta be some kind of fallacy. using “just don’t use it lol” as a rebuttal to any criticism of minecraft ideas…
@@tubbyidk1474 a good example is the division in the community of those who prefer the older combat system and those who like the newer combat

You learned nothing.
I sincerely think it would benefit you to step back and look at this in the context of the greater whole. This is a teenager blundering through a project without understanding the complex realities/implications of doing so.
It is a part of life that we all go through. Directing rage at anyone here is unkind and unwarranted.
Unless he starts posting a forest of corpses or something, let's all give a little grace and hope for the best.
That's not to be patronizing, like "Oh baby starfish so pure" I'm just trying to spread a little tolerance.
Will you do a bedrock release?
Found this secondary channel by accident lmao
I thought the paywall was completely fair tbh
Unfortunately, it isn't about it being fair, it's about the legality of it. Mods must be free, because Minecraft, who created the content being modded, has said as much in the TOS. Meaning it could possibly be illegal to ask for funds in exchange for a mod made by an individual. Even saying he will make early access to the mod, means he hasn't properly understood how this could be a problem.
No, this behaviour must be fought tooth and nail, because commodification destroys everything it touches
Dude, play Terraria.
Nobody on wants to pay mods or see any more doombaity "Minecraft sucks because I said so!" videos.

@@renatroid_Not illegal but is against EULA, and is an all around scummy thing to do
Paywalling such content goes against the very principles of modding which is built on FOSS
I think you got way too much shit for this. Nobody usually reads the EULA, and most people probably didn’t know that charging for it breaks it until the RUclipsrs got in the way. He’s offering a full refund if you feel ripped off, and is making a whole video addressing it.

I don’t think selling mods are illegal just look at the minecraft marketplace and thats all
@@pvplegendoyeah no. Marketplace is run by Mojang and they get a percent of the profits from mods bought on there. This is a third party selling a mod without any permission. Actually illegal. I’d appreciate if you would educate yourself before trying to defend a point you know nothing about
i just asked you for it so...
As much as paid mods upset me, I think they are justified
that's what I thought before making my video as well.
You made a bad quality video just to sell a stupid mod. You're dodging this by suddenly making it free . You aren't going to wash this off.
it's fine if you didn't like my video, but I did not make it just to sell the mod. the mod was an afterthought I had after writing the full script without it (the original plan was to make that video exactly like my "why minecraft isn't fun anymore" video and just suggest features mojang could add. after reading comments asking for those features to be made into a mod, I decided to do that for my exploration video.
after getting in touch with a developer, the price he quoted me was $300.
I may not agree with everything in that video, but it was amazing quality.
