Good day,Teacher Rick🤛🏼 It’s a long time since your last video. Nice Car and great job again👍👍 Graphene oxide product is really hot,I saw Pan released some videos talking about it and do some test with 303. Adams also has a graphene coating, maybe you can try it next time. Keep tight and waiting for your next nice video🤚🏼
Yeah, graphene is definitely the latest buzz word to hit the scene. I am trying it out and curious to see if it really is as good as they say. Thanks for tuning in. I promise the wait for my next video won't be as long as this one was. New video drops on October 24th and it will have a very interesting twist!
I'm still not buying this Graphene hocus-pocus, I'd stick with old fashioned ceramic coatings like Cquartz UK. Video was awesome Rick and the car is a banger aswell👍🏻
From the recent videos of Chicago Auto Pros, PanTheOrganizer and Ammo NYC that I've seen, graphene coatings are really good coatings, just like ceramic coatings. They do not have such a high percentage of graphene in them as ceramic coatings have ceramic technology in them, so the term might be somewhat debatable. Are they a marketing move? Are they actually better? A lot is unknown, but it seems they are comparable to ceramic ones. Not hocus-pocus in my opinion, but sticking to Cquartz UK 3.0 is a good choice regardless! However, they might offer more potential for future refinement and improvement, possibly reducing water spots thanks to lowering surface temperatures, and easier application. Also, as Rick showed in the video, they have more versatility than some ceramic coatings seem to have. For further research I recommend these videos: ruclips.net/video/sbfr35YkDzk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Jevs_iIrzVI/видео.html I am learning a lot from those, as I certainly do not know the answer myself!
Fair enough! I am not pushing graphene on anyone. I just have been fortunate to have two companies agree to let me try it out and I am looking forward to hearing back from both owners how it performs given our extreme winter climate up here. I will be applying the Auto Shield Canada (ASC) to my SQ5 in the coming weeks once I get the garage floor project completed.
Another great visual and audio "experience." ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I must admit my OCD was off the charts because you went around the rear license plate rather than remove it during the washing/polishing phases. But that's just me...great job as usual.
@@RADGarage I thought removing the two screws would take off the plate/frame having done it recently myself. If there's more to it than that such as a mount, no I wouldn't. I'd never question your methodology. ✌🏻
I totally agree. I haven't often seen Avus Silver in person. It is really cool. He has his trim vinyl wrapped in black which was a great choice in my opinion.
Definitely one of my favorite Audis ever. Would've gotten one in 2012 when I was used car shopping, but all I could find was S4's. I knew I'd have wanted more. Ended up with a 2008 Acura Tl Type S instead.
The owner of this one told me he owned a black one but sold it and instantly regretted the decision. He was lucky to find this incredible specimen to replace it. Such a perfect design in every aspect. Every single design element makes complete sense and looks amazing.
Very nice one Rick! This is a beauty of a car to have, and I love that the owner treats it accordingly! Am I right for spotting ppf, on the badge shot (0:34)? Since you do polish the bonnet I am confused:) I am interested in this because the graphene coating works on paint and glass, so if it would work on ppf as well it would be the most versatile one I've yet come across. I love the shot at 9:06, especially the warm light of the pot lights, it conveys the message that car detailing is a form of art or at least craftmanship, and that you are the master craftsman!
Hi Jaap. Yes, the hood and fenders are coated with SunTek PPF. I used a very light polish and soft pad on those portions of the car, mostly to remove the layer of "Beadmaker" the owner had on the car. This Graphene coating is suitable for all surfaces on the car, including PPF. Yes, that shot at 9:06 does convey a warmth that often gets missed in the throws of a project. I do like taking my time with the process and enjoying each step of it. This is the luxury I have since I don't have the same pressures and time constraints the pros have.
@@RADGarage Thank you for answering. An owner using Bead Maker is a pretty good indicator that they maintain their car in a detailing fashion rather than a 'wash&scrub' one. I agree with you on the taking your time part, in the end, if the car is clean but you are worked up and you have deadlines, it takes away part of the fun.
Great work and video--like always Rick!!! Great way to start the morning:) I've got an extra bottle of the new 303 Graphene Spray if it isn't available in Canada and you want to try it out. If so, let me know and I'll send it North tomorrow. Have a great day:)
What an awesome offer. I dint think I have a need at this point but I really appreciate the offer. How did I get so lucky to have such a cool and supportive community of viewers?!
This car is impeccably maintained, and clayed regularly so no need. I felt the foam was enough of a process to ready the car for the hand wash so I opted to not pre-rinse before the pre-wash. Every project is a bit different depending on the cleanliness of the car when it comes to me. This one came very clean.
@@RADGarage agreed, the B7 has a special place in my heart. I like a lot of these mid 2000's performance cars for some reason they are my favorites specifically the Audi RS4 and the E46 M3. 💘
I think they were very special projects back then, whereas today the formula is pretty standard where a company releases a performance version of almost every model in their lineup.

Rick, the Audi looks fantastic for 2008. I am interested in hearing your thoughts on Auto Shield Canada's Graphene coating. I know you're a fan of Adams Polish as I am, and I just coated my daughter’s a few weeks back with their graphene coating. So far, very pleased with it, as if it was easy to apply and wipe off. Also, do they ship to the states? Thanks, Rick, and have a great weekend.
Hey William. This particular coating is only available to dealerships and professional detailers at this point. There are plans to release a consumer-grade version, but for now, it's not something you can get. I will be trying it out on my own vehicle soon so I'll be able to share my insights.

Rick, I would like you to know that I've subscribed to your channel and have liked several of your videos!! Again thanks for the information about your garage floor and Adams detailing products. However, I do have a question for you with regards to removing wax and ceramic coating. What product would you recommend to remove wax??
Thanks man. For wax removal I’d do a wash with a Strip Wash (I have Adam’s) and finish with a wipe down with CarPro Eraser. That should get you back to raw paint. If you are talking about some of these spray sealants, you could try same process but a light polish may be required as it was for me on the Lexus IS300 project from this summer.
@@RADGarage Perfect the wash strip and eraser should do the job for me. I too am an educator... I may ask you detailing questions, tips, and techniques from time to time, I hope you don't mind...
I picked this pressure washer up from Lowe's a bunch of years ago. It is a rebranded AR Clean Pressure Washer. The AR390SS to be exact. It's what you can expect from a "big box store" type of pressure washer. I have been considering upgrading for years, but just keep putting it off because this old horse is still getting the job done. The wash mitt is easy to maintain, I just rinse and wring it out and leave it hanging to dry. No fuss.
Does your garage floor have a drain built-in to the concrete floor under your floor tiles that runs to outside your house? Or do you have something else setup to evacuate the grey water?
Currently, there is no drain so water either evaporates or flows out the door. I am having a concrete company rip out a section of the floor later this month to install a channel drain and catch basin. This will be a game changer for me. Stay tuned.
Rick, what type of flooring do you have and what company did you order it from?? I noticed you use Adams products, are you sponsored by Adams?? At one point you used Chemical Guys, but has switched to Adams, what was your rationale behind the switch?? Just curious, I'm thinking about using Adams products myself...
My floor is by Swisstrax. I have combination of Ribtrax and solid vinyl tiles. I am an affiliate with Obsessed Garage, so I would suggest my American garage friends use my link in the description if they were to order, but my Canadian friends will have to visit www.swisstrax.ca and use "RADGARAGE" to receive a $0.25/square foot discount. I do love my Adam's but I am not sponsored by them so I'm a free agent who uses what he likes. I just happen to like many Adam's products. I used to be totally into Griot's Garage and Leno's Garage, but I'm not affiliated with any one brand. I have made lots of friends in the business though and I do enjoy a number of gifts that come to me from my buddies.
I should have included the link to my website where you can find all the info you'd ever need regarding the floor in my garage: www.radgarage.ca/swisstrax-floor.html
The red one with the strong handle? That’s no longer available. It’s the Daytona Speedmaster Pro. The closest I can find is this one: carzilla.ca/products/go-ez-wheel-brush?_pos=3&_sid=61fb5cf04&_ss=r&ref=RADGARAGE 5% discount with “RADGARAGE” code at Carzilla.ca
I’m gonna have my bmw m5 graphene coated and I have a carbon fiber roof. Does the graphene go on the carbon fiber roof? And do they paint correct the roof bc I do see some scratches on the clear coat on the carbon fiber roof?
There's a lot of factors at play there so I can't really chime in. I would be sure to bring your concerns and questions to the attention of the detailer you are using. Best of luck.
I think the most challenging vehicle I experienced so far in terms of paint correction was a Misano Red Audi RS5. That video will be coming out soon and it was a major project in terms of removing the swirls. I used quite a number of different combinations of pads and compounds on different portions of the car. It took a long time, but came out pretty good. Other than that, black is always a challenge because it tends to show every little flaw. No cutting corners on black paint!
@@RADGarage Thank you for the answer, I didn’t expect it to be red! I honestly thought the obvious answer was going to be black, this goes to show me that there are always unexpected things that only the experts know! Can’t wait for that video. Thank you again.
I'm not equipped to do a full engine clean. I sometimes clean around the engine compartment, but I haven't performed a thorough engine clean in quite some time.
@@mustafamohammad7240 Whether it is very dirty or only slightly, I still go through the majority of my process. I didn’t clay or decontaminate this car because it is so well cared for by it’s owner.
@@RADGarage no disrespect to your work Rick but people are more than aware of this Graphene nonsense and you are more than capable of applying a coating with some added graphene powder, no “pros needed”
What do you think to those carpro wheel covers? I keep putting them off as they’re a lot of money for what is essentially just a plastic sheet... but they would be handy
I love them. There's something psychological about them on top of the fact they protect clean wheels from overspray and sling. It just signals to my brain that the wet and messy part of the process is over, and now I can set my sights on being more clinical with the polisher. Worth the money in that regard. I'd like to source a set with my own logo at some point.
@@RADGarage definitely can see where you’re coming from. Definitely useful when polishing etc to stop any polish sling on the wheels, and good if you’re trying to keep rain off freshly ceramic coated wheels outside

For further research I recommend these videos:

I am learning a lot from those, as I certainly do not know the answer myself!
Nicely done, very classy and professional. 🥂🥂
Thank you kindly!
Another great visual and audio "experience." ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I must admit my OCD was off the charts because you went around the rear license plate rather than remove it during the washing/polishing phases. But that's just me...great job as usual.
You’d remove the license plate mount?
@@RADGarage I thought removing the two screws would take off the plate/frame having done it recently myself. If there's more to it than that such as a mount, no I wouldn't. I'd never question your methodology. ✌🏻
@@catguy64 That probably would have worked in hindsight.
@@RADGarage but I'd only do it if waxing or putting a coating on not a simple wash. I'm not that ocd. 😂
Would definitely help with those pesky corners around that section of the trunk.
Love this car! Perfect color combo.
Excellent job!
Thanks. That project was a lot of fun for me.
I agree with you on the taking your time part, in the end, if the car is clean but you are worked up and you have deadlines, it takes away part of the fun.
great video as always
I appreciate that
Great work and video--like always Rick!!!
Oooh baby! This brightened my day :)
I'm so glad!
Why no clay before polish and graphene? Also, why no water rinse pre-foam to loosen/ remove larger deposits? Great video and car!
This car is impeccably maintained, and clayed regularly so no need. I felt the foam was enough of a process to ready the car for the hand wash so I opted to not pre-rinse before the pre-wash. Every project is a bit different depending on the cleanliness of the car when it comes to me. This one came very clean.
Awesome work on another awesome car Rick!
It was a real pleasure to have this car in my garage for the last 3 days. Audi makes/has made so many amazing cars over the years.

Thank you. I really enjoy the finer details of a project.
@@RADGarage Thanks, Rick; I own a shop with my wife and certified with Ceramic Pro, G Techniq, and Modesto.
We use our daily drivers for testing coatings, both professional and consumer-grade. We have a budget for every type of vehicle owner.
@@williamthomastaggart5080 Awesome Shoot me an email at radgarageyyc@gmail.com and I can see about putting you in touch with the team at Auto Shield Graphene if you’re interested.
I noticed the Alberta plate in the garage, is that where you're located? I have a 2019 RS3 I'd love to have this done on before I store it for the winter
Man, I would love to get my hands on your RS3. Perhaps in the Spring? I have some garage projects on the go and a few people ahead of you in the queue. Please reach out to me at radgarageyyc@gmail.com and let's see if we can set something up for later this winter, or possibly Spring.

@@txdeedee7783 It happens. 🤦♂️
@@RADGarage 😂😂 you're a nut. 😘
Great video brother!! What pressure washer is that? And how do you keep the wash mitt in top shape? Do you wash it after use? Or....
No fuss.
@@RADGarage thanks brother!! Happy detailing!
Really shows that ding in the rear quarter panel @13:24
Easy fix.
Enjoyed this
That was a good one.
@@RADGarage if you don't say so yourself.
Stay tuned.
@@RADGarage game changer for sure. Thanks for the reply 👍

In your experience, what is the car and the color that is most challenging for you to detail?
Amazing question. Give me some time to consider and I’ll get back to you tomorrow.
Engine cleaning please...
