My cutting board is not adhered to a wood base.....I intentionally leave it loose so that I can move it around and use the edges of the board......this keeps the board more even and prolongs its life.......it's difficult to find anybody local to shave the board even, and shipping charges back & forth are high enough that you may as well buy a new board.......

What is the wood base underneath the cutting board made of?
