I agree - the syntax and general awkwardness that you continually point out makes Leaf a regrettable choice for templating. What's incredible is how little indication is provided when Leaf encounters an error - especially because it's so sensitive to errors, and it has zero tolerance for anything but the most rigorous structure. It it would at least provide something like "Leaf encountered an error near ", line numbers, or really anything that would allow for debugging.
Worse, there's no clear way to comment out lines of Leaf to allow you to narrow down the problem. It may exist; but the docs don't seem to make any mention of it. Neither does the Ray Wenderlich book, which is almost completely useless for learning Vapor: it's great that people like you are making videos like this, since in general the Vapor docs and method for helping users is the worst I've come across in years of learning and deploying innovative server frameworks.
