Humans invented reCaptcha to block bots.
Humans then invented bots to solve reCaptcha.
Bot WWI
BWI
According to what I know, the Captcha project and Capcha solving teams are together developed by Google, so they essentially make technology to prevent bots and then order the other people to reverse engineer it.
The singularity occurs cuz of a capcha
And in the end, humans won't be able to solve Captchas at all, but the bots will.
Ironically, the fragment about sponsorblock was flagged as an advertisement via sponsorblock.
bruh
I don't see it. It may have been deleted.
Also humans flag sections as sponsors.
anyways ppl who already have sponorblock dont need sponsor block
Someone must have been trolling
@@cst1229 pretty sure it's only done by humans. I think someone using the service was just messing around
one if not my favorite addon for firefox is "Terms of Service; Didn’t Read"
you get a recap of what's in the TOS of sites, submitted and maintained by the community
it's AMAZING really i would have put it in the video
And not ambiguous
Nep Nep
oi thanks its also on opera GX
I don't people are interested in anything related to TOS.
reading TOS is useless anyway since you are going to accept the TOS no matter what, because otherwise you want be able to use anything on your computer/phone
@@n124ajdx TOS lets you know what the company does, if they wrote they can do X, it's because they do it.
What you're implying is that since you're going to use something you don't need to know what they do with your data behind the scenes, basically you prefer not knowing.
except that for some people like me, when a service has bad TOS we don't use them, or start using something else. do you use discord? do you really think there's nothing of that quality out there?
I love that the RUclips Vanced app has the SponsorBlock api integrated, so I don't have ads/sponsors on mobile or pc.
Vanced has to be the most goated app ever
There is also a newpipe fork with sponsorblock integrated ;)
Some guy in the comments section said it was possible to get Vanced without jail breaking your iPhone, but he just vanished when I asked him how to get it :/ every vid I google about it is a scam :////
Watching this on it
@@bonkgameing just download the apk and install it you dunce
I actually talked to a youtuber about sponsorblock and at least in their case it doesn't affect their income, as the companies at this point only look at the views, not at the watch time/specific watchtime within the sponsor-ad's timeframe.
This is in contrast to general adblocking which actually means that the youtuber doesn't get any money from the ad the adblock removed.
Thought this was common sense
@@Overqualification Common sense actually tells me that it decreases their incoeme. Sure for individual videos there's no difference, but the market is a feedback loop, and over time advertisers will pay slightly less if they notice less users use affiliate links, or even in general if they see other companies having slightly less of an effect with their advertising. This is a very data driven field, so even small changes will have small effects.
Use these services if you want to, but don't think that it doesn't decrease from the money RUclipsrs make.
@@John-Smlth You would be right if they had access to replayed areas 11 months ago when the comment was posted, and even now that they do, they still pay based on views and sub count.
@@Overqualification The payment to an individual creator may be based on views and sub count, but the market cost for 1 view will vary based on how many people actually click through on ads.
Imagine a hypothetical world where 50% of users suddenly started using this software. Existing contracts would stay the same, but as advertisers see their click through rate fall, future ad deals made will have a lower pay per view associated with them.
This effect is much smaller with the usage of this software being small, but these ad companies work on precise enough data that even these real world small changes will likely have an impact.
This is fairly simple supply and demand reasoning.
Also, plenty of sponsors have a set price range beforehand based on their average views. Most of the time, by the time you're watching the video, they'll already have been paid.
about Buster, after some time google starts bitching about you requesting audio challenges only and starts to sometimes greying-out the option
Wow that's very ableist of them. Absolutely disgusting.
@@noname-dp3gn lol, google needs to be canceled
@@zoc2 on a serious note, imagine being blind and not being able to get thru a captcha because you can't access the audio version. Pretty fucked up, someone might have a lawsuit on their hands lol.
@@anguswett they use statics to deduce the accuracy of your Captcha attempts and if you profile like Buster then you get grey out
@@anguswett DFK???????? HAHAHAHHA how tf is a blind person gonna Go through a recaptcha??????????? Or even use the computer???? Dumb comment of the day
The irony: You install a program to solve Captcha (Turing tests) because computers are better at solving Turing tests than humans. I guess now it is a reverse Turing test.
I needed such a addon for a long time since i often fail this things and wasted hours.
@Я i always felt this is the case ever since captcha became a thing
captcha is a great example of useless things that have been developed for no reason but to waste people's time. If you want to test whether someone's a human there are much better ways.
@Я The problem is that bots are quite trivial to catch, be it because they don't use the JS that the server offers, the odd ips, the frequent attempts etc. Traditional methods solved these issues very well. I think it's just another case of solutions looking for problems. They had a fancy thing they could deploy, so they did.
@Я google AI = a solution
problem to solve = no problem
so let's invent captchas
@@senselessnothing captchas were invented to get people to supervise machine learning. They were never intended to check for bots. They're basically a mechanical turk paywall.
i think dark reader is an essential, it dark modes all sites and it looks good on 9/10, for the ones where it looks weird you can set it to always be off on that site with one button.
Thank you man
yes
I tried like a lot of dark mode extensions and they all work just for the popular websites, but make niche websites look bad.
So instead it's better to just use the built in dark mode of the websites.
ClearURLs breaks some sites in my experience. It doesn't have an option to disable per site, so I just uninstalled it.
Also, Twitter auto-converts links to their link shortener service, so character limits don't matter for URLs.
Edit: Ironically, the end part of the video is now an "interaction reminder" segment in SponsorBlock lol
i have been using ClearURLs for months and it never broke anything lol
A useful plugin would be disabling the ability of Javascript to manipulate the clipboard. One thing I've caught a lot of sites snooping on lately is reading the contents of the clipboard, and while I can't say I've proven the concept, I'm sure this is one way they're attaching clearnet identities to TOR identities.
I think ScriptSafe allows you to block clipboard access, among other things
Have been using sponsor block for a while, It saved 4 hours of my life since then. I myself saved 13hours of other users time by being early on LTT videos myself. It's awesome
Thank you
Witch one is ur backdoor access to my browser?
Sponsorblock made Corridor Crew's videos watchable for me.
You should try RUclips vanced

Funfact, Universal bypass is been created by a good friend of mine. I realy like the functions of the Addon.
Fastforward is the continuity for that project
@@FlyingEbi thanks I looked for universal bypass but didn't find anything
Ok Stand user
ublock origin and sponserblock are the perfect combination
For anyone who usually has a lot of open tabs, I recommend _Tree Style Tab._ I can't live without it anymore. Instead of having the browser tabs at the top next to each other, this addon places them vertically on the left or right side of the screen. Not only does that give you some more vertical space to display the website you're on (at the cost of some horizontal space, but with widescreen monitors that's not a problem), but you can also see a lot more tabs simultaneously, and it's easy to scroll through them. The name of the addon comes from the fact that a link opened from a parent tab opens into a child tab that's shifted a little to the right, so if you have a lot of tabs open and you open links into new tabs, it has a tree structure. The companion addon from the same author is Multiple Tab Handler. It lets you drag and drop multiple tabs or entire trees, close them, move them to a new window, etc. It's adds some convenience features but it's not required.
Sponsorblock is amazing, i have saved over 11 hours with it and ive seen no weird stuff like segments put where they shouldn't be and pretty much ALL videos are covered.
I only had one instance of something being skipped but shouldn't had but it has since been fixed for the most part
It was in MOTI's Battle Against a True Hero where the song the lead in for that moment had a song playing that got completely skip if you had "Non-Music in Music Video" enabled considering I listen to music a lot that's not bad
I'd recommend Reverse Image Search by Andreas Bielawski, it's fully customizable and you can just right-click and image and use the context menu so it doesn't clutter my toolbar with another icon.
I really wish there was an add-on that would automatically reject any cookies or at least hide those annoying cookies pop-ups.
A bit late but
"I don't care about cookies" hides all cookie pop-ups and has failed me only once through multiple months of usage.
@@monikafiori Update on this: IDCAC has been bought by Avast and is no longer trustworthy. However it has since been forked and is called "I still don't care about cookies". FOSS model works!
I use RUclips Vanced on my phone and it skips sponsorships/ads and bunch of other cool things
I believe Vanced also uses the SponsorBlock api
not an algorithm lol, they use the same database of timestamps as SponsorBlock
yeah, it's using SponsorBlock API (the same API that is used by extension described in 0:50)
youtube vanced supremacy
@@TheLucario4ever, yeah it uses the SponsorBlock api. You can see it in the Vanced settings.
Another great addon I use for daily use is Enhancer for RUclips. Gives user to fully control how the video gonna be played and etc.
You forgot the most important one!
I wouldn't be alive without darkreader. It creates an darkmode for almost every website. It is just amazing and customizable.
Go outside cretin.
@@djavuleniv6266 pass the covid man.
Also like who asked lol.
I am using an addon called Enhancer for youtube. It gives so many features when watching a video in youtube like scroll to the comments while the video is playing in a mini square, control the volume by mouse wheel and many more.
i was literally just looking for a good list of cool and useful extensions the other day, how does mental always know what im interested in :0
4:54 clearURL unfortunately doesn't actually really help your privacy at all. I do think it's good for keeping your urls short, but that "tracking data" is usually saved in something like local storage, cookies, or with the actual request itself. Url arguments are just a really convenient way of quickly accessing and sending data between pages, but it doesn't stop or really do much of anything to protect your privacy. Just makes links shorter.
This extension also breaks many webpages and social media sites automatically shorten urls especially by using proxy urls that they use to track data for analytical uses.
Thanks cat guy, this really enhanced my web browsing experience :)
Behind the overlay it's very useful, and you know it makes you see behind the overlay
This channel is fantastic. Thank you for the amazing content, every video I learn something new

Unhook is really a game changer for me. It helps you remove distractions on RUclips and is really customizable. That along with sponsorblock will be the meta
You missed the extension that swaps out "Elon Musk" for Grimes' boyfriend
the most useful one tbh.
What's the point of replacing "Grimes' boyfriend" with Grimes' boyfriend?
I don't get it

Down them all is insane thanks for the tip. Search by image is insane too now i don't have to manually go to yandex all the time.
I love your videos it’s sad that you don’t get more exposure ❤️ [please make a video about hosting tor nodes]

Others I like include Vimium, Auto Tab Discard, Poper Blocker. You mentioned it already, but Sponserblock is really, really good
An addon to dodge adfly made this video worth watching. I'm honestly not that bothered if some small creator really wants to make me ignore an ad for five seconds, but half the time the redirect doesn't even work so I can't access the thing I came to get in the first place.
Been looking for something like Down Them All for years thanks fren.
Another awesome addon for productivity is Video Speed Controller. Lets you watch videos on any site at up to 4x speed
used to use downthemall years ago but hen they stopped updating it....glad to see its being updated again. will definitely re-install it.
0:50 nice XD bois had arrived to your channel :) btw thx for the video really useful
Wouldn't running so many addons just leave you with a unique fingerprint based on the combination of addons?

Some of the Addons i use:
-Tab Session Manager
-Unpinterested
-Image Max URL
-Bypass Paywalls
-Absolute Enable Right Click & Copy
Buster is what I’ve been looking for, thanks😮
Keep on making awesome vids man, love the content
I am still using Waterfox Classic since it's the only place where the old DownThemAll seems to work.
How's the new DownThemAll?
Is it a match to the old? Is it better? Is it worse?
I think "Dark Reader" is another must have. Another one is "I dont care about cookies." And there is also "Privacy Badger" and don't forget "Facebook container".
I don't care about cookies got bought out by an ad company.
I like your videos, but please bump up the font size (on linux the easiest way is to set the dpi higher).
Finally I understand Clear URL. Thanks!
A video on Violentmonkey would be awesome!
Some I like are Wikipedia with MathJax, RUclips thumbnail resizer by iAlen, Terms of Service; Didn't Read, and Tabliss.
thx a lot, for some reason I could never find addon like violent monkey, and I'm using scripts a lot, tho I've got used to making my own extensions but this is so much better. Unexpected discovery, thank you again , can't wait to port some of my scripts to it :D
Gotta admit, I didn't expect to see a SponsorBlock endorsement on a RUclips video. :D
I absolutely love your channel
Something to keep in mind is some of this can be done without an extension. On average it's a good idea to cut down on superfluous extensions.
Thank you RUclipsr for showing me a sponsor block
Hey Outlaw, I see you using LBRY. Could be very useful to read about SEC lawsuit against LBRY, this could be a hot topic for crypto in general
Amazing list, thank you!
I've been using universal bypass for a while. The only thing I've found that they can't bypass is linkvertise. It says "we can't bypass this site but we negotiated the removal of most of their steps". I assume that linkvertise approached universal bypasses maintainer with cash.
Universal Bypass has been apparently discontinued. FastForward is a fork and the successor
I’ve always had a feeling browser add-ons could be great and their potential was enormous. I’ve searched a few times but never found anything worth the few minutes I spent looking.
This list should be behind a pay wall. You my kinda people.
Thank you for including addon names in the description :)
gonna love what there is sponsorblock section in here
great add ones. Thanks.
I would very much like a video about GreaseMonkey and userscripts. I just found out about them from qutebrowser and it would be nice to have your insight on this matter.
Thank you for all your contribution
You should really make a whole video on violent monkey, that would be interesting
Thank you for a miniature without lewd content.

I literally had the idea of sponsorblock around a year ago.. I'm not a coder so good thing someone who is also had the idea lol
I also find the Privacy Badger and Facebook Container add-ons to be very useful.
You don't need Privacy Badger if you use uBlock Origin. uBlock blocks the trackers as well
Session buddy is amazing for people who have a habbit of using 1000 tabs. It will let you save all of your open tabs under custom names and if your computer crashes or gets turned off for any reason it will automatically save them so you can return to your tabs quickly. It will also help with re-visiting tabs from a long time ago as well.

13:34 gosh, you saved my life. thank you
A few youtubers I watch have genuinely amusing sponsor storylines... and I have my finger on the arrow keys anyway. Shame, it's a very cool addon.
For Firefox i like Tab Session Manager and Tab Counter to act like Session Buddy in Chrome, and 600% Sound Volume to find noisy tab like Chrome.
It's a shame that reverse search addon doesn't support saucenao. That's sort of the standard for art-related stuff.
