I've installed doors and it looks great and works perfectly. The problem is after a few weeks, the exterior base trim piece came off as it is only attached with silicone. I used the best type of silicone that I could find, both in the original installation and again when reinstalling it, after thoroughly cleaning both surfaces. I allowed more than 24 hours for the silicone to dry. Is this a design defect? It there a better way to attach this strip rather than just silicone adhesive?
