    Thank you for such a simple and adaptable demonstration. This was my first time making anything other than a scarf. I knitted in white and added little ears on top. So cute!

    Just finished my attempt at this little hat. This is my second knit project I finished. Not without boo boo's but I did not try to fix the boo boo's. I kept on going and figure out what I did wrong and how a stitch should look. Double stitches were interesting. I did catch a ply and increased a couple times and eventually decreased back to where I needed to be. Looks odd but still a functional hat. Next one will be better. Im also using my own hand spun two ply yarn. This one was from my Jacob fleece. Going to donate to the hospital. Does not look like yours.

    Hi, thanks for the video, am wondering about your sewing up, you seem to stitch the two loops together and then do you go thru the knots on either side? Could you please explain what your method is. I knit for prem babies and they don't want the ridge that seems to occur when sewing up....

  • @juliemelton9907
    @juliemelton9907 3 года назад

    These rows with knit 6 knit 2 together or knit 5 knit 2 together is this all the way along the row, I had another pattern like this with 36 stitches for prem hat it didnt work out.

    Question: so for row 14 do I continue to *K6 K2tog for rest of row after first k2tog?? Or just knit rest of row normal?

    • @BundleInABasket

      For row 14 you will K6, K2tog, K6, K2tog, K6, K2tog etc... to the end of the row.

    Hi,
    I wanted to do this for my father and Im wondering how many stitches should I cast-on?
    Thank you!

  • @gadblatz4841
    @gadblatz4841 7 лет назад +1

    Can anyone post a link to this pattern scaled to adults?

    • @BundleInABasket
      @BundleInABasket  7 лет назад +1

      Gadblatz Hi, you would have to cast on about 140 sts, but to be more accurate measure around the head in cms, times that by 22 and divide the answer by 10 that should tell you how many sts to cast on for example if the persons' head circumference measured 50 cm you would do the following
      50x22=1100 1100÷10 = 110 so in this instance you would cast on 110 sts
      For the height I would say rib for 8-10 rows or how ever many you'd like. The finished height of the hat should be roughly 28 cm. Complete a Stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl the next etc...) until the whole hat from the bottom of the rib measures about 20-22 cm then start decreasing *Row 1* K8, K2tog, *Row 2* Purl all *Row 3* K7, K2tog etc....
      Everyone's head size is slightly different so just use this as a guide. *Note* This is an untested pattern and is working on the idea that you are using the same needle and yarn size as stated in this video. I would say give it a go and make it your own project.
      If you need any help just leave me a comment.

    • @BundleInABasket
      @BundleInABasket  7 лет назад

      Bethany Sparke are you accidentally putting knits on top of purls and vice versa? You can do K1, P1 if its easier. You don't have to make a rib if its hard for you just complete the whole hat in garter stitch (knit all rows) and make it an inch longer before you decrease so you can roll up the brim.
