That was really cool, how were the prices vs a regular grocery store? Would you go back? Was it busy? It seems like the store would be less busy since the checkout lines take forever in normal stores. Wonder if they can share that technology with other stores later
Thanks! I would definitely go back because they had some items that are hard to find at regular grocery stores. Overall, it was less expensive for the same items you'd find at a regular supermarket, but the specialty items were a bit pricey (which I expected). It wasn't busy at all - there were more employees there than customers. If I had to guess, I think some people don't realize that you can shop there like you would at a regular store without a prime membership. Plus they offer pickup and delivery, so I think alot of Amazon customers shop the store that way. I did see alot of employees packing up orders. Being able to just walk out of the store in the Dash cart lane definitely makes shopping so much faster. To your point, I hope they share that tech with Costco! I think it's a matter of time before other businesses implement smart carts the way they did self check out lanes years ago. Smart carts are fun and convenient for the customer, but also beneficial for the business as they can get a higher volume of people in and out of the store. It's all very interesting and I wonder how it will play out long term.
