I love how you actually made the Agency hold Dazai accountable! Plus the line where he questioned whether or not what he'd done was actually abuse; he definitely recognizes that he treated Akutagawa poorly but I don't think such an extreme term really ever registered with him. I would definitely explain that he learned his method of "teaching" through what he experienced with Mori when he was also a child, but everything so far has been very in-character! Thoroughly enjoyed this and very excited for part 2.
Dazai was a kid too, ngl I really hate the ada in these type of reactions, they never stop themselves to think in the bigger picture, if Dazai a CHILD have these type of attitudes and behavior how, why and when did he get it? He wasn't born that way, a child learns from the adults or in something they have seen or experienced, they also don't stop themselves to think that this is the past, they don't stop to ask him what did he think then, and what does he think now, and why does he thought/think that way, etc.
THIS IS NOT HATE TO THE CREATOR NOR THE VIDEO, JUST AN OPINION IN THE ADA IN THOSE TYPES OF VIDEOS.

Not to mention that Dazai was his superior officer in a criminal organization. Not his parent or sibling. It wasn’t personal for Dazai. Akutagawa just got over attached. Also he didn’t listen to Dazai and he WAS a slow learner because of it. Not that he deserved it but it’s the mafia, what do you expect if you just brush off all your mentors teachings because you think they’re beneath you? Dazai was trying to teach him restraint and strategy and Akutagawa just ignored it all, killing anyone who remotely threatened him or who he perceived as a threat.
@@valteal Exactly, that too, do you guys (talking to anyone who reads, dw @valteal3013 I'm not saying this to you) think Dazai just said "ok let's torment this specific individual just because I can and I want"? Ofc it wasn't personal at all! It was his job, if you guys go back into that episode where Dazai punches Akutagawa he had that behavior with everyone else, every one of his servants (ik servants isn't the exact world but I forgot the word rn, but you can understand what I mean) received a treatment like that, Dazai at that moment said something like "god all my servants are this stupid?" (Since if I remember correctly in that episode in a part we can see that Dazai was doing an autopsy on the body of a mimic member, his servants couldn't understand why was he doing that, after all, they all thought "this is the mafia, our job is to kill people, not investigate stuff like a detective" (between the ones who thought that there was Akutagawa, that went as far as to "complain" in a way to Dazai for him being adamant in making an investigation of some short) then Dazai said that to correct them and he emphasized the importance of investigation/knowledge and such. Dazai treated all his subordinates (that was the world I was looking for instead of "servant") that way, even more with Akutagawa as he was his mentor and Akutagawa wasn't a lowly grunt.

I really like how you portrayed them! I saw someone say they ‘act as if dazai can go back and change it’ but honestly if someone’s done something bad in the past and they don’t understand that it was bad (like dazai in the video) then you should teach them that it was the wrong thing to do, even if they can’t change it now. Although dazai kinda CAN change it now with how he treats akutagawa (cuz he still acts that way even though he’s in the ada with that “my new apprentice is way better than you” scene)

This I my answer to another comment through I understand what you all mean, it's still not the right thing, but this is a complicated thing to handle and I think the creator did it really good, it just lacked this "self conscious" I'm talking about, we are all humans, we are imperfect, flawed, evil and good all our lives (we are gray, we can't be good nor evil all our lives, we act differently depending on the person, and we react differently to different situations with the passing of time since humans have the ability to grow not only physically but also mentally, and we change as time passes, we have all sinned in our own ways, indirectly and directly, willfully and unintentionally, even if we think that we are doing the "right thing" we might be hurting others in the process (if you want an example in BSD you have Verlaine and Chuuya he believed he was doing why was best for Chuuya, and that what he was doing was right, but as we all know that's not how "love" works).
Edit: I want to know your opinion on what I think (I'm not judging you, since I don't have a right to do so), even if we can't come to an agreement I would like to understand you better (it's obvious why you think like that, and many people are like this, but as I don't know you personally, I don't know from what context, experiences, ideologies and even culture and society (since you might be from a far away county, like Pakistan, or Malaysia, or France, etc) you might be talking from.

@@atsushisgirlfriend I have seen that a lot, the hypocrisy of forgiving Akutagawa and blaming Dazai, and I agree I think that both of them deserve a second chance since they showed change (Akutagawa in that scene were he talks with Kyouka after encountering her again after she left the mafia, were he lets her know he's happy for her and let's her go easy, and Dazai well with Atsushi, the ADA and when he patted Akutagawa after the Moby d!ck incident), but that not our choice as I said, the only ones with the right to forgive them are the affected, they're the ones who suffered, not us, I wish everyone could give each other another chance and live happily (except for Mori lol).

It turned out wayyy better than I originally had in mind, I thought it's gonna be another reaction video where Atsushi/Kunikida or literally anyone wil hate him, insult him, and avoid him _immediately,_ Ignorant the fact that it's the Port Mafia, it's another abuser; it's a cycle, it's the past which they cannot change. Headcanon: Dazais Su¡c!de jokes are what he does to “subtly” warn them about another attempt. Like he makes the jokes to “tell them” by not really telling them and then he goes and has a serious attempt but since no one caught on he just has to help himself when he wakes up (if the attempt causes him to pass out that is)

He officially joined at 15, that's what I meant, but thank you anyway! (I thought in Stormbringer they weren't executives yet🤔)

As far as I know he officially joined after Mori made him a witness (otherwise the Mafia wouldn't know him and don't believe Mori has a witness and Mori even told him before that he would find a way for dazai to die aka bringing him into the Mafia). While the whole thing with chuuya was going on he wasn't an executive (I think) but still moris right hand so he had control and was feared but nothing official. Then at around 15 (and a half maybe, I think shortly after the whole chuuya thing) he got promoted to executive. :)

I know you probably didn’t intend for this comment to be offensive, but I did want to comment on it since it’s a large problem in the community.
Dazai is a character who canonically has substance abuse problems and bouts of depression. With these two extremely hard problems, both cause a lot of people to struggle with hygenics, including taking a shower.
This isn’t aimed to be rude, but I hope you can see why this rubs me the wrong way. A lot of people struggle with even mundane things like this, and it’s pretty gross to say that to a character who canonically has mental health problems.
This goes for any person who says these kinds of things by the way, including jokes about Jouno being blind, or perhaps Kunikida’s arms, are just a symptom of prejudice.
Again, this isn’t meant to demean you or anyone who thinks like this, but simply a call to think about your words before writing or saying them.
I did enjoy the video other than that, I thought it was good and had a layer of suspense to it, even as someone who hasn’t read the light novels.

I'm honestly accustomed to people just saying comments about bad hygiene, I have a really bad hygiene which I know it's disgusting (I personally wash Wednesday and Sunday, and sometimes only in Sunday), it's painful for me to be standing in the shower for some time because of my back (I'm about to have a scoliosis I think is called? Idk my mom knows the name), and I have trouble breathing, but I'm old enough to wash myself and I don't want my mom to wash me, but it's painful the effort I have to make to wash myself, also the motivation, the days/weeks are so hard that I don't even have the motivation to eat (I also have trouble eating but because of the pressure from my doctor and my mom I'm starting to change that), much less to wash myself, I just lie down in the floor or in my bed and wish for the day to end or for me to d!e in my sleep. As you can see washing myself is the least of my worries, but I do try as I KNOW IT'S DISGUSTING FOR EVERYONE (myself included, I don't like the feeling of dirt in my body but I don't have the mental energy to clean myself, so I slowly have grown accustomed to the dirt), I understand people's disgust so I don't feel bad when people make comments about hygiene (obviously pointed at me), but it's nice to see someone that understands, I don't know if you have experienced it personally but I hope not, I wish you the best, have a great day/night sir/miss!
