Saline-filled alveoli has higher compliance than air-filled alveoli, simply due to the fact that surface tension is no more in saline filled alveoli. In the video you said that compliance of the saline-filled alveoli is less than air-filled alveoli. I think I had to spend around 1 hour trying to figure out this mistake. Great videos tho, help a lot.
An absence of surfactant decreases compliance and increases surface tension so he was right. This is what happens in the newborn respiratory distress sydnrome.
