Pete and Team, brilliant video again, progress is looking good. I believe the boxed enclosure within the carpark and discussed during the tea break is an air cooled chiller, basically pipework cooling system which can by 400V (Low Voltage) or HV supplied depending on cooling load and capacities. I have had a quick look on google earth and streetview. Unlikely to be operating to often this time of year due to ambient conditions...
Hi Dave, another great insight to these fantastic layouts. A very big thank you to all the sponsors and the very talented chaps doing the work. It would be great to see a dvd produced of all the techniques used to make these layouts. I'm sure the dvd would sell very well with profits going to the charities that are to benefit from the layouts touring the country. I cannot wait to see the layout at Chester and Milton Keynes. Phil was right to say that most people want to talk to Pete, but the more I watch these videos, I'm eager to chat to the rest of the team, (if they are happy to chat with the public). I would like to say a big thank you to Phil, because last year Pete got me to chat to him about the controllers and how they work. I purchased 2 of them and with Phil's help and support I've got my layout running. This goes to show that although Pete is the focal point of the shows, knowledge and support is available from the some of the team and I'm sure Pete would be so pleased with this? Many thanks again Dave Howarth.
Excellent work Pete Waterman and the gang I'm well impressed with the layout and accurascale for putting that money in and the rolling stock. They seem to becoming a fantastic company that I think most of us are happy with on how they producing some top models. Also big thank you to all your other sponsors that's helped you all to make this happen 👍 Hopefully I get to the Milton Keynes show this year so I can see the layout in the flesh 😊. Keep up the great hardwork gents.
Absolutely brilliant. The car park is crying out for a small camera inside on lower level looking outward through the holes towards the tracks with the image of passing trains displayed on a monitor.
Great to see all the work going on! Looking amazing already! Can't wait to see it later in the year. The building in the car park being discussed - there are large pipes feeding in at the top. Could it be a gas pressure reduction station? This reduces pressure from transmission lines down to local pressures. National Grid would know if it is. Or even one of the small gas powered electricity generating stations I believe have now been added? This would only fire up when needed.
Hi Dave , great films . Nice to see the progress. The level of detail is out standing . Hope to see you at Doncaster in February . Cheers Glen the gardener
Thanks for the update video … very interesting to see the layout progressing and gives a good insight into the sheer scale of the project and the volume of hard work to create it! Really good teamwork and good banter! C’mon Aaron … hasn’t he finished the OLE yet? 😜😜 Good luck with the progress and look forward to the next update and hopefully several visits to Chester during the summer 👍
Unfortunately I've not quite finished the OLE😂, there's a lot more work involved in the building the brackets for the gantries especially in the station itself as each gantry has 8 individual brackets fitted and there are 6 gantries within the length of the platforms. Currently I'm machining the pulley wheels for the tensioning assemblies, which will be working as per the previous layouts, but they are a European style pulley wheel which will be a 2 part construction which will be soldered together and then filed to complete the overall appearance.
I am wondering if there is any of those SQUARE LED SIGNALS in or around your locality, I have seen some elsewhere and wish to try to make one, but being in HO SCALE, and this being 3.5mm to 12 inches, but not able to find the SIZE of this SIGNAL, I have found some FIBER OPTIC 0.75mm x 6 = 4.5mm across is close to scale, but 7 down x 0.75 =5.25mm is a little larger than scale, but I could put up this over size, I have seen them online but never seen live, and are thinking about 12inches, maybe even 14inches, I wonder if you are able to help THANKS Graeme
Looks cracking, really shows how much prep and teamwork is involved. Also interesting that accurascale and peco are also sponsoring this. Is system 2 going to be the foundation for this proposed lighting system?
@Pete and co! If you're on about the long building which goes down the side of the big car parks, I just zoomed in on google earth and it says its an Amazon Hub Locker. All the best!! Scott🙂
Sorry all! Yeah I had the wrong building, I just saw your photo!!! It may be a Fibre Optic Relay Station, there's probably fibres running up the Railway. Intriguing isn't it. I'm just off to look again. All the best 😀😀🙌🙌
I'm very Impress by the detail on this giant layout. Just two thing more tea Banter please 👍👍👍👍 and more Modeling tips. Because I'm think going back in to the Hobby an this will help.👍👍👍
The guy making the boards? Some people just dont like camera and questions I suppose.. might just be here to have a good time. Nothing wrong with that.
i used to do model railway shows with my exhibition layouts. Age and disability have left me housebound. I cannot and would not do one to one publicity but put me on one of my layouts and I will chat to anyone and everyone. Shyness and self confidence can be a very strange thing. Congratulations to all involved and praise for all the Sponsors Cheers, Bob
The attention to detail is amazing for such a giant layout
Many thanks Dave for continuing to produce these wonderful update videos!
Great Video Dave Thanks
The guys doing the various jobs on this layout are just amazing and their enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment shine through.

Another fantastic insight behind the scenes. Well done everyone involved, can’t wait to see you all at Chester in the summer 👍
Thanks for these updates.
Great video Dave ....Milton Keynes Station is looking superb.Well done lads
Its looking good, love that swerve of track into the station.
Excellent Carpark!

the mirror film is like what you get in a telly screen these days the lay out is fabulous so interesting

Yet another great vid. So much work has been done and the insights into how you’re engineering the build itself is fascinating

Hi there could you tell me who made and installed the signalling on the making tracks 3 layout? Thanks JC
These cantilevers are the business Aaron !!

If you're on site again look for manhole covers, they'll tell you! Don't make a special trip though ha ha! 💜
Can I please ask what you have used for the baseboards. Thanks
Its birch plywood ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxfZZ7osugoVznnNvU6FGgEZw_YTlxgjn3
Hi dave could you let me know where and how i can buy the grass matting you use on your layouts as it looks much better than the paper ones.
The matting is green teddy bear fur.
I'm very Impress by the detail on this giant layout. Just two thing more tea Banter please 👍👍👍👍 and more Modeling tips. Because I'm think going back in to the Hobby an this will help.👍👍👍
Are all of the workers volunteers? Curious how the finances of these projects work
Part of a group called railnuts. (Unpaid I believe). Money and materials mostly comes from sponsors or Pete Waterman himself.
The 'chippy' seems a hoot..! Prob don't like camera....he's as dry as as a well seasoned log!
The guy making the boards? Some people just dont like camera and questions I suppose.. might just be here to have a good time. Nothing wrong with that.
@@littlemaster22 as I said he's a dry northen man....and just like myself hates a camera saved in my face and asked/interrogated
