Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin - 1967

Back in 1963 in Birmingham England, 24 year old Welsh guitarist Spencer Davis went to the Golden Eagle pub to see the “Muff Wood Jazz Band,” featuring a 20 year old bass guitarist Muff Winwood and his 14 year old brother Steve. The encounter resulted in the formation of the Spencer Davis Group. Three years later the band released “Gimme Some Lovin,” which would top the charts in multiple countries and eventually be listed at one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. Here we are nearly 60 years later and it still sounds as good as the day it was released.
