Well it’s a homage to a category of fragrance called Russian leather. The idea of having to discontinue a fragrance because it has Russia in the title would be a bit silly if it’s true.

This is, to me, a mixture of Tom Ford's Noir Anthracite and Amouage Lyric for Men.
I just found your channel today. I agreed with your assessment. I love rose de Russie the best of the three. however the longevity isn't that great, and the dry down is a bit smoky for my liking.

Tried it pre release and fell in love, sadly due to its name they pushed it back and it got delayed.
They're selling all current stock of Rose De Russie at the Tom Ford outlets (50% off), the other retailers sent stock back and have said they're planning to re-release it later this year under a new name (but the same scent)

I was a bit surprised to hear you say that you loved “Rose Prick”, so I watched it again to be sure. You gave it a fair number but had some significant criticisms. Did you like it for what it was but were disappointed with the price? Or were you only underwhelmed by the scent?
I'm surprised there's no Russian leather accord in it.

When you mention Guaiacwood, do you mean Guaiacol? Whenever I use it I get almost a smoked bacon like smell, I find it hard to use.
I knew you would like Rose de Russie, it has more depth as you said. Kinda let down for the perfomance though...have you smelled Noir Extreme Parfum??

anyone please tell me I am not the only one having problems with the video quality. I am watching on 1080p but video seems 360p, only happens with his videos, and the strange thing is the text in like "final thoughts" is crystal clear but rest of video isnt.

Rose de Russie got discontinued already because of the name/conceptual tie to Russia. I expected it to be my favorite of the 3 going in, but it turned out to be the one I liked the least. Too smoky.
But watch, guarantee it will be the one with the highest notoriety, simply bc of it’s discontinuation

@@blankmandastankman Uh, maybe? It wasn’t really around long enough to form a cult following. If anybody is interested the rose trio of travel sprays containing it is still available. I heard they were going to rename and rerelease it, but I guess we will see.

About time Tom Ford credited the perfumers in the way Frederic Malle does. It’s almost like he’s taking the credit by just plastering his own name on the box.
Jason, I believe Tom Ford doesn’t own the perfume side any more. Estée Lauder bought it.
