Woo Colton. Colton number 1.
Ya man!! Colton makes living in a television look bad ass.
Colton needs to be fired immediately
Paul you should try to get that tv overseas. Would he have more or less room in a flat screen😂
The editors off for the weekend.. Paul’s gone rogue 😂
Also: wooo Colton’s Mum!
"That peace, that peace is a lie" - Peace is a lie - first line of the Sith Code
There is only passion.
Through passion I gain Strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through Power my Chains are Broken
The Force shall free me.
OMG. I had to stop the video and comment. “Cheech & Chong in Star Wars” 😅😅😅 brilliant!
next shirt lol
i was trying to meet the High Republic when he said it and i died
I always knew Trinity was a Jedi. Now we need Neo to return as Revan, then the circle will be complete.
What is it with you kids and the Dark Side ???
And your desire to immerse yourselves in it???
That's why WW3 is coming and you're all acting like it's gonna be like Mad Max, GTA-67 or Halo and everyone's gonna be riding around in jeeps and brandishing AR-15s...!!! Realizing too late that NO ONE gets back up and the nuclear bombs drop......Game Over......Like ALIENS!!!
Yee-haw!!!
Seeing Keanu Reeves as Revan is a dream I hope will come true someday
The dog had me laughing out loud with the high republic is that Cheech and Chong lol
I didn't really think there was a plothole, the sith haven't been seen for 1000 years but the prophecy basically says they will make themselves known and the one will then balance the force. they know sith exist, but their hubris is that the jedi didn't stay vigilant and got too interested in politics instead of focusing on the force and it clouded their vision. it's the vatican in space.
practically all arguments from people who claim that there is a plot hole are based on quotes from the prequels that were shown to be at least partially lies precisely in the prequels.
Plagueis was Muun, what do you mean we don't know what species he was?
Thank you!! Also he could be thousands if years old since he could drain the life force from others.
Has that been confirmed in screen or just the Lucenco novel? If so is that still cannon?
Only in Legends.
Yeah they should have clarified that Legends gave a race but they could change it and make him a new race in disney cannon.
In the Expanded Universe yes, in Disney canon we don't even know if Plagueis exists yet
that jedi temple is A MOUSE DROID!!!
I hope The acolyte finale ends with Darth plaguies' master and leads up to an old republic trilogy that tkaes place years before the phantom menace
Reach!
High Republic. Not Old Republic
@@birons3708 same thing
@@youssefmesrati340 no, no it's not
@@Isaacisaperson4677 yes it is , it's litterally the same time but with another name
Been waiting since 2005 to see a live action Darth Plagueis. He to me is one of the more interesting characters that have never been seen.Would also like to hear a mention of the future conception of Shmi, and some more knowledge about that that was never fully explained.
Did that Sith helmet have an Abeloth teeth pattern?
That is what I was thinking. Is this the same entity that Baylan Skoll was looking for in Ashoka?
I was thinking that as well.....that cult kinda reminds me of something similar to the night-sister vibes. It may not be them, but definitely has those magical vibes. I was wondering if there is going to be a tie-in with Abeloth, but I don't know if the time-line fits.
What would be crazy is if this Tokyo Ghoul mask wearing Sith looking person is part of an Aboleth worshipping cult! While we're thinking this could be Tenebrous and possibly seeing Ramage or Plagueis, maybe it's neither at all. Maybe Aboleth returns, and the sith looking person is from Mortis or just a dark jedi that became more powerful with the help of Aboleth? 🤔
Ooooh abeloth would make so much sense and also be a nice callback to the last Legends books.....I'm down for that.
@@shauwn78 And here I was thinking Darth Chainsaw Man. It doesn't look like CM specifically, but the whole rounded helmet with teeth definitely fits the vibe.
Here’s the thing that ties up that plot hole in Phantom. The Jedi council all throughout the prequels were extremely arrogant. More than Vader or Palpatine, that’s what destroyed the Republic. Qui Gon literally fought a person, sensitive in the force with a red lightsaber, and had been trained by someone who wasn’t the Jedi Order, and their response was, eh the Sith are gone, so you’re either exaggerating or someone trained this guy but he’s not Sith. He’s just a dark jedi. In their eyes, the Sith are gone. They have been. There’s a dark side of the force still, and it’s clouding things, but they belief that they’re powerful enough that if the Sith returned they would know. It’s that same arrogance that kicked off the clone wars. They went to Geonosis expecting a few dozen jedi would be enough to scare Dooku and the Confederacy into surrendering. Into putting the clones into commission despite not knowing their origins fully. Not knowing why Sifo Dyas would create them secretly. If he was working alone or if he had fallen to the dark side and the clones were a trap to kill the Jedi. Which they were. This is just logs on the fire for how the biggest threat to the Jedi were their unwillingness to perceive their own weaknesses.
That.s not true, the Republic fell because the Sith were meddling with galactic affairs.Yinshur,Eriadu,Asmeru,Dorvala, the neimodians,Naboo,an army of clones, the fallen jedi Dooku, the trade federation, the funding of cartels by Plagueis and Tenebrous,Damask Holdings, the CIS,the banking clan, the annual gatherings on Sojourn, all these events lead to the downfall of the republic ,the jedi were too few in numbers and not politically independant. They are not to blame, arrogance had the smallest part in their downfall.
Lol all your aguments are wrong and not even your own but come from the average fan ,there were 200 jedi on geonosis, not just a few dozen.Saying that they were arrogant because an enemy from a millinia ago appears is like saying that we are arrogant because Charlemagne somehow returns after 1000 years,my point is that the jedi were realistic when they didnt believe that the sith came
I like everyone's comments here. Its so kool to be able to discuss Star Wars today as a modern myth in the same way the ancient Greeks and Romans must have had discord over their own myths.
@@damaskholdings9140 they weren’t. They had someone trained in arts that they shouldn’t have been able to be trained in. At the very least it should have been considered a serious threat. It wasn’t just someone saying it. It was Qui Gon, who for all his faults, the council had no reason to believe he wouldn’t recognize a dark side user. Being skeptical is one thing. But they outright deny Qui Gon’s experience, until they personally see that there is a threat, and then do very little to handle that threat. Their inaction led to Dooku’s fall. Their willingness to trust in themselves over the force led to this collapse. The Sith manipulated all of it sure. I’m not saying that they’re blameless. I’m saying the Jedi’s arrogance led to that manipulation and to the fall of the Republic. If the Jedi hadn’t been so sure of themselves they could have prevented the fall of the Republic and Anakin’s fall to the dark side. That doesn’t mean no one else had blame. But they were the ones that were meant to guard against the darkness and when it was time to they failed. Over and over again out of arrogance, a lack of vigilance, and outright ignorance the Jedi failed the Galaxy.
@@benkenobibluegaurdia what , in your opinion, where they supposed to do after hearing qui gons story about maul .. i dont get it ..
The High Republic era spans 500 years BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) to about 100 years BBY. It is a period where the Republic is at the Height of its Power and it's a Time of Peace, exploration and innovation. The Jedi were also spread further and were more open, Understanding and more powerful. The Show takes place at the End of The High Republic era, around 100 years before the Phantom Manace.
Yeah they said 80 years, but I think that’s too late
Are your eyes 👀 okay man? Your blinking something fierce!
It’s kind of a tick he has. He may have a form of autism or anxiety and stress or sensory overload can cause that excessive blinking.
The High Republic was from 500 BBY -100 BBY (When the Acolyte takes place)
The reason why the sith are in hiding by the time The Phantom Menace hits is because of a sith Lord called Darth Bane. Bane decided to make the existence of the sith secret in order to stop the Jedi from actively hunting him and his apprentice, as they were the only 2 sith left. It is possible that there we're rumors the sith survived, but they were just spending those thousand years gaining power in order to destroy the jedi. I think reason Yoda looked at the other counsel members, was more of him being like what has Qui Gon come up with this time, because Qui Gon had very different beliefs that were often disagreed with by the prequel Jedi.
I believe that is Darth Tenebrous at the end of the trailer
Or may be Darth Venamis , Tenebrous' another apprentice.
The main art of darth tenebrous he uses a breathing apparatus
I think Qui-Gon Jinn was the source of the prophecy about the chosen one. When he first started talking to people after he returned to the force, he said that in his state, there is no time. That means he could have spoke to anyone in any time frame. So i think he fed the prophecies in a way that would speak directly to him finding the chosen one.
I'm so happy to see Real Star Wars fans getting excited instead of been negative about the Disney stuff!
the dislikes on this video say otherwise 4.8k likes to 1.6k dislikes which i dont get i think the show looks decent enough to not get that much hate
Exactly! It's amazing how many of these channels just make content bashing anything Star Wars, then further bashing the fans that like Star Wars.
The high republic was when they were high. They were very chill and hungry.
They always want to high five and give hugs.
Would recommend.
Auralnauts fan?
Audience: "We hate feeling like we have to watch every Disney+ show to understand the story."
Lucasfilm: "Here's a new show that's completely separate... just read these 20 books first."
Well since Vernestra’s the only returning character, I doubt you’ll have that issue. Also you can’t make that critique and then demand a Darth Revan/Plageius story which requires reading a book or an entire game to understand
Why does this sith lord's helmet look like Kylo ren's helmet from the rise of skywalker if it was a horror movie 6:06
or maybe since it takes place before it's Kylo who stole the design like the jealous and envious petulant child of the sith that he is?
It looks like it's smiling. Reminds me of Alastor/Venom
It looks nothing like Kylo Ren's helm. The only similarity is they both are black...
Another sort of plot hole the jedi knew the sith weren’t extinct is that during Qui Gon’s funeral, Mace Windu references the rule of 2. But the rule of 2 is set up after the supposed extinction of the sith. So the sith had to have come back in some way shape or form in order for Windu and Yoda to know about the rule of 2
The rule of two was created 1000 before the Battle of Yavin. The Sith went "extinct" 100 years before the prequels.
Great work ryan and colton hi doug i appreciate this breakdown im so excited for this series also may the 4th be with you 💪🏼
I can't wait, otherwise it's great that he will be able to see Vernestra Rwoh and her lightsaber whip and maybe other characters from the High Republic books in life action. I hope that this series will have more series so that we can see Darth Plagueis in life action. Heck Yeaaaaah.
I was focused on a different plot hole - The Sith "Rule of Two" started 1000 years before TPM but Yoda somehow knows about it, despite the Sith being extinct for 1000 years. So why would he know about or feel confident the Sith are using "The Rule of Two" if they didn't know about the Sith being around more recently than 1000 years ago?

Thank goodness for your channel I needed help with this one😂😂😂😂
I loved the trailer… the last part with the “Sith” made me think of Michael Keaton Batman “WHAT ARE YOU?” … I’m Batman 😂
I think the little reveal of the sith was part of their Great Plan! They knew some members of the Jedi high council would keep it a secret. It put everything in motion, the Jedi wore more involved in politics and became politically corrupt, which made it even easier for the sith to infiltrate, manipulate, and have indirect influence in the Government and the Galaxy as a whole.
THANKS, ScreenCrush Gang!!!!
My gut feeling tells me the Sith is going to end up being Darth Venamis
No lol
Carrie-Anne Moss' character is probably the dead Jedi they're talking about. In the scene where the assassin walks away from a lightsaber, it's the same room where Carrie-Anne Moss fights the assassin.
I'm 200% agree with you and I think Colton is right too! If the assassin is an apprentice who is strong with the force but unable to find a Kyber Cristal, she had to come back home and it's at that point she flips and become angry against the Jedi order. She wants a Cristal for herself and attacked a Jedi for it.
I think Carrie-Anne Moss scene will be the first scene of the serie and her character will die, killed by the assassin and then cut, Title screen!
How to start a good Star Wars serie? Giving us a great lightsaber fight with big guest and then kill their character ^^
Yeah they seem to be making that too obvious. Which is really a shame, I wish she'd have been around longer.
Uhhh I know it could be editing bilut it appears that she is in the final scene with the sith.
@@warofwrath where?
She’s a pretty big name to be killed off that fast. Lately, we’ve been getting a lot of predictions wrong that we thought were obvious.
Apparently Dafne Keen’s character is a Theelin/human hybrid - hence not quite looking like a Theelin.
26:16 The Sith's mask greatly reminded me of a Japanese Oni or Hanya mask (a sort of demon); they're almost always depicted with a grotesque, toothy grin, and the Sith mask had a sorta stylized grin as well. SW has always drawn from Japanese culture and Samurai films.
I got like an anime villain evil smile helmet feel
You guys make a good point. These shows are meant to be seen on the big screen. You should set up a screening at theaters for the shows when they come out. I'm sure you could find a way. But really why are we watching these TV shows in the theaters. My TV is big and all but I want Star Wars on the big screen. I would watch four episodes in a room full of fans for 30 bucks maybe even 40 if you throw in some popcorn :-) it could make some money and it would be fun
The shot with the assassin and the sith in the reflection makes it 3 , just an interesting thing I noticed
I love this channel, greatly
RIP to all the Star Wars/Cheech & Chong crossovers we never got:
Some New Dope
The Empire Smokes Hash
Reburn of the Jedi
The Phantom Lettuce
Revenge of the Spiff
Attack of the Hybrids
It's canon that Plaguies was a Muun (you mention we don't know his species)
The Acolyte takes places 100 years before The Phantom Menace
to start the show it is..
@@RedOrange1111 this person knows ;)
The Sith would have had to have been Plaguis or Tenibris. So that’s not a Sith
@@LooneyPoliticsTunes there's a time jump in the show
The longer you use the dark side it destroys your body. Tenebrous had a breathing device, Palpatine has been said he had a mask on to look normal and that's what melted on his face as his lightening hit him. Dooku and maul didn't use the datkside long enough to have thier body break down.
Do a video where Colton escapes the TV and is captured by the SC TVA
No promises but love the idea lol
11:27 The Jedi Temple looks like a khaki colored Mouse Droid. Just me?
In Young Jedi Adventures, they explained the lightsabers of the kids are not as powerful as the adult ones.
Thank ryan colton lee for all your hard work may the 4th be with you always.
Hopefully we'll see practical effects.
I’m looking forward to this…
Just got my Good Soldiers Follow Orders shirt. So happy with it!
The Species of Jecki Lon portrayed by Dafne Keen is a Theelin-human hybrid like Rystáll Sant a singer and dancer in the Max Rebo Band
I could’ve sworn they just had a tales of the empire breakdown video …….
The biggest thing im hoping for as this series starts and okays out is that fans din immediately start twaring it apart because its not what they think the story should be. Acceptance is key. Its easier to follow the story complaining about it will most likely lead to things getting cancelled. Everyone must remember, its nott your story to write. If you dont like it go write, cast and start your own stories.
Palpatine doesn’t create problems. He exploits the ones that are already there.
I wish they started this like 500 years before Phantom menace
THE OPEN HAND!!!! I couldn't remember the name, thank you
I believe the Nights Of Ren are the group that use to be called the Acolytes of the Beyond, a cult that worshipped Vader
If the Sith are here, hope we can get to see Darth Plagueis the Wise in live action
I hope we see young yoda
Reference the plot hole from Phantom Menace:
I think it was common belief the sith were extinct (cover up from this show? Maybe); however, Obi-Wan was taught by Qui-Gon, who believed in the prophecies and dug into the jedi teachings. We know he didn't follow the same tune as the rest of the council and that he made Obi-Wan dig into the prophecies, too. It's reasonable Obi-Wan would believe in the prophecy of the Chosen One whereas others wouldn't.
Colton doesn’t know he’s in the TV but you ask him point blank if he’s still stuck? Oh, Ryan.
As for the plot hole concerning the phantom menace dialogue about the sith . I think it’s going to be revealed in this series that some of the Jedi on the council (yoda?) were in fact actually aware of the siths existence and there was a conspiracy to cover it up and hide it from everyone else some reason……the Jedi track history we all know are not above keeping secrets and hiding the truth if bthey think it’s for the better
Carrie Ann Moss’s character must get killed off quickly if they have to continue to hunt the character she’s fighting
So you mean to tell me that the GIMP from Pulp Fiction is the Sith Lord now. Wow truly DEI!!!
Did anyone else notice how the style of the trailer was very similar to the style of the trailer for The Phantom Menace?
VERY interested in this show now.
the football chants for palpatine 😆😆😆
Could the sith be Marrok when he was still alive? Perhaps his spirit binds to his armor and Papatine enslaves him to serve as an inquisitor. You wouldn't think he would rush using another Sitg but he was willing to use Momin's mask despite it being possessed by Momin.
I think I saw a green Kyber crystal worn around the Acolyte’s neck. I’m assuming she killed the Jedi played by Carrie-Ann Moss and took her Kyber Crystal so that she can turn it red and make her own Lightsaber.
Went to see thr phantom menace and got a very dope preview of the acolyte after the film. Looks amazing hope it doesn't disappoint
That is cool.
Am I the only one who wants the movie selection on the back to change up? 😂
Regarding the assassin's status as a Sith and whether or not that is possible given the Sith line/Rule of Two and Darth Plagueis's presence:
It is completely possible, (and even likely). Don't forget that not all Sith apprentices are successful, and Sith often train apprentices in secret. Palpatine had Maul, then Dooku, then Vader. And while still an apprentice himself, Dooku had Ventress, AND Savage, AND Quinlan Vos. In Legends, Vader had Starkiller.
So the Sith line has many, many branches. For all we know she could be the apprentice of another apprentice, and not even know it. Or, she could in fact be Disney's version of Darth Tenebrous, Darth Plagueis's future master. There are a myriad of possible explanations.
It's not always so neat as two Sith. The Rule of Two just reigns supreme in the end after the weakness has been culled. The Rule of Two exists to hone the Sith's ambitious, traitorous and manipulative impulses, it does not negate them.
hmm...interesting parallel - the running through the woods in the red light: a similar sequence opens (very confusingly, mind you and with more killing) Rise of Skywalker.
If this is roughly 80 years before Episode 1, where is Yoda?
He's around in the High Republic books and comics. Probable cameo and for sure a lot of name dropping.
Hell be in the show my boy
Probably teaching Younglings while running away of his responsibilities on the council...
100 years before to be specific.
Don't think, consume product, get excited for next product.
as long as they magically prophesied Anakin, that would be cool
I went and saw Episodes 4, 5 and 6 yesterday. They played about 3 minutes of the fight in the bar with Carrie Ann Moss before the main movies started. It was quite well done and you are correct about the table. I am however finding it difficult to accept Carrie Ann Moss as a Jedi, she will always be Trinity to me. It's a typecasting that I personally find difficult to separate, especially when the fighting style is so close to that of the Matrix. I hope that as the Acolyte progresses, her character moves further away from being so Trinity-esqe.
On a side note, the Sith with the smiley helmet is who you see in the trailer standing on the rocks of Ahch-To. You can see the shape of that person's head is very similar to that of the helmet-wearing Sith.
It's a pretty good trailer and I am interested in watching the series. I always come to Screencrush to watch breakdowns because the knowledge levels are so high. If Ryan doesn't know it then is it really worth knowing. It's also a channel that is made with fans in mind and not the haters. It doesn't jump on the bandwagon of negativity, of which plenty is floating around for the Acolyte. Keep up the great work.
that would not be a plot hole, someone predicted the sith would return they get confirmation the sith have returned in maul, and he finds the one to restore balance, it still stands the sith have not been seen in over 1000 years
Which would make it a plot hole if this movie now suddenly establishes a sith running around killing jedi and being an active presence on the scene instead of a hidden "pulling strings from the shadows"- threat.
The sith escalate their presence around the Plageuis-Sidious era, due to the prophecy coming ahead with the chosen one, etc.
I have no faith that Disney is going to give two shits about Star Wars canon or continuity. The movie franchise is nothing but plot holes after plot holes.
@@merlith4650 disney is trying to make plot holes happen, it is an excuse for lazy writing, I am not saying there were no plot holes but this was not one of them, yoda showing respect turning to the person talking to him, is not suddenly an admition of guilt, and of course he looked concerned, he was just told a sith, that had not been seen in 1000 years, was seen.
Much better trailer than the first im going in open minded i have a feeling its gonna surprise us all the things were least hyped for like andor turn out to be best.
Carrie Ann Moss' character in the show is named Indara, just FYI👍
Ooooh finding out theres a new star wars trailer by Ryan posting a breakdown is tight!
'bout lost my shit with that Cheech and Chong joke LOL good one
Darth Plagueis was Muun species clearly stated in the Darth Plagueis novelization 21:31
I would really love if the prophecy was ambiguous in a way that everyone assumes it means to defeat the sith, but actually works to predict Anakin's turn and the destruction of the Jedi order.
"Cheech and Chong in Star Wars". Sign me up!
Finding out Ryan is colorblind is fun lore to get in this video.
He has been hanging out with Doug too much!
I hate to joke, but Ryan is actually the Jedi/Sith master. He has the knowledge and the ability to see green and red simultaneously. Sorry Ryan, not trying to be mean at all. I love this channel. Such detailed and well thought out breakdowns. The force divides some. I wish some people didn't know red from blue. I rock the blue, but don't want to chop a red in half or anything.
In regards to the prophecy at least in legends, if memory serves, the prophecy is more of a fringe belief that Qui Gon held. And yes in the past those Jedi who served the force more than the order (like Qui Gon) would have given the prophecy more creedance but in the prequel era prophecies are seen as more unreliable.
The only reason the council considers it at all is because how esteemed they hold Qui gon, in part as a sort of surrogate conscience for this connection to the force they have become estranged and alienated from. I don’t see it as a plot hole as much as they inferred this dynamic in the prequels remember how obi wan tells Qui Gon he could be a member of the council if he simply was a little more conventional or something to that effect
i watched this breakdown over coffee, did not disappoint! i'm sooo excited
I just got my Good Soldiers follow orders T-Shirt . And I love it
May the fourth be with you!!!
Likelihood of seeing a live-action appearance of Bendu? Whether in The Acolyte or some other project.
Hope there is a cameo of someone from Nubs' (from YJA) race unless Nubs can live past 100 years like Wookies.
That young Jedi whose species you didn't recognize is Daphne keen x23
Darth Smiley Mask
The wooden sticks the younglings train with are modeled after Japanese bokken.
Yeah Ryan corrected him.
Darth plagueis is a Muun from the banking clan. That’s how he met palpatine.
I always interpreted mundi's words as semi sarcastic, claiming the sith were functionally impotent, not actually extinct.
I hope it’s the back story to the Knights of REN. The sequels need more back story.
Ryan…”the one in front” in the training sequence is Dafne Keen… her character is half human/half species that is escaping me as I’m trying

I feel like the 'sith's' mask is very much an Abeloth parallel...
