    I'm looking at a converter to charge a MAXOAK CPAP battery pack (power bank) from my 12v motorcyle battery while I am riding (so that I can use the
    CPAP during off-grid camping trips).
    The power bank's capacity is 297Wh/82500mAh@3.7V. Its input is 25.2 V 3A. It has various outputs depending on what CPAP machine you are powering. One of the outputs is 24V 4A, which is what my machine uses.
    Would this converter work to charge the power bank with my motorcycle battery while I am riding? It would eliminate having to carry the power bar that comes with the MAXOAK on the trips and looking for AC power to charge the power bank. The power bar is 120v IN to 25.2 V 3A out.

I have a headunit with usb ports but after connecting the leds i noticed that the headunit would cut power from my carplay usb and the leds would constantly get dimmer. I looked at the needed voltage and found that its a 24v input😐 can i wire the 12v from my cigarette lighter plug to the dc dc booster so i can get 24v for the leds?

    Hi there,
    The way you have the motor running, how long can you run it for, without it over heating.
    Would it be ok to run it for 8hrs for instance?.
    Thankyou

    • @tsbrownie
      @tsbrownie  Год назад +1

      The motor was a 24 volt water pump. There are 3 conditions for it to run long term: correct voltage, water to cool it and a 100% duty cycle. This pump meets all 3, but you have to look at the specs of your pump.

    Hi one question
    I have 2 LED bars in my van
    But the led lights are 24v
    How or what I need to do to be able to turn them on
    Do I need a transformer or how I can make them work

    • @tsbrownie
      @tsbrownie  Год назад +1

      In all seriousness you need to find a friend that understand electricity well. I know a guy that burned up his car with a miswiring; it's easy to do. Transformers do not work with DC. This converter is a work of magic, because it converts DC to AC, runs that through a special transformer, then converts the AC back to DC with very low losses. OK. What **I** would do is buy a DC-DC converter that will handle the amps of BOTH bars plus a wide margin (+50%). I would put fuses on BOTH sides of the converter. The converter needs to be where it can get lots of moving air/cooling. The wiring supplying the converter and lights would be enough to handle the amps input (more than 2x the total output) and amps output to bars. I would spend lots of time making sure the wires are run where they are not going to get cut or pinched, and I solder all connections. As you can see, this is not a trivial thing. Find a friend who knows electricity, buy a pizza or 3.

    • @tsbrownie
      @tsbrownie  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you send more voltage to a motor than it is rated for, the current will rise causing a rise in temperature. Since most motors are operated near their max temp, increasing temp will likely shorten the motor's life by a lot.

    Hello Mr. I just watched your video and it really is very interesting. I have a 12 volt 110 watt solar pump. I would like to use a 24 volt solar panel and a 24v12v 20 Amp converter (240 watts) to power the pump. My concern is the section of electric cable to use. The well is approximately 15 meters deep. I don't know if I can use 1.5mm, or 2.5mm or more electric cables. I don't want to have an overcurrent for the pump. Thank you in advance.

    • @tsbrownie
      @tsbrownie  4 года назад +1

      Since I can not see what you are doing, I can only guess. You need to verify for yourself. 12v 110w means about 9.2 amps. THEORETICALLY, a 24v 5A panel would work with a very efficient (low loss) 24v to 12v converter. I would go bigger if I could afford it. In MY area 1.5mm wire is rated for 13A, 2.5mm for 18A. Personally I always go with a bigger wire size because of power loss at low DC voltages from resistance is significant. If the pump is 12v DC, and the inverter puts outs 12v DC it should not have an over-current issue. Wires can not add current, they can only take it away. If you are using wires as resistors to lower current, that's not a good idea.
