Just now I made it in white-pink and added a little leaf to the head. It's ✨ADORABLE✨
I also attached a little soft-blue beads and it's like little tears by "yawn". Omg, the prettiest thing I've ever made

At all it took half of a day for 3 bears: blue, pink and yellow

- one the last stitch, do not fully finish the last stitch, when you have two white stitch on the crochet add in the gray and finish the last stitch on round 8. 5:59
R9. Sc 27 (27) gray 6:37
R10. Sc 27 (27) gray - last stitch change the yarn back to white
R11-R12 Sc 27 white 7:27
-changes color to gray
R13. Sc 27 8:07
R14. (sc, dec) x 9 (18) 8:35
R15. Dec x 9 (9) 9:43 - stuff with poly-fibre
R16. Dec 4, sc (5) 10:30
FINISH OFF THE BODY AND HIDE THE YARN
LEGS - make 2
R1. 6sc MR, slip stitch onto the first stitch (6) 12:14
R2. sc6 (6) 12:45
Leave off some yarn to attach to the body
ARMS - make 2
13:16 - ch3, turn, sc2 (2)
Leave off some yarn to attach to the body
EARS - make 2
15:04 : 3 MR (3) without slip stitch
Leave off some yarn to attach to the body
Assemble
14:10 - Place eyes on R7 of the body
14:20 - Sew on the arms on the gray part of the body
16:07 - nose

Before this video i've seen that we bare bear amigurumi on totoro video. I really love it and just figuring out by myself how to make it with some of totoro pattern and adjust it. It's good but i wasn't really happy with the result but now i am soooo happy finally this video made. Thank you so much

This is so cute! I’m definitely going to make this! But the thing is every safety eye has a back part to it, so when in the middle of crocheting you should add the eyes, then carry on. However this looks beautiful and cute! Xx

omg! after making 3(!) of these and wondering why they were tall rather than spherical, and all my other amigurumi were way taller than they were supposed to be, i realized that at some point I confused double crochet with single crochet in my mind and I have done everything with dc instead of sc... a troubleshooting tip if anyone else has strangely tall bears

It's weird I've been trying this for three days and still can't get round 3 figured out
Make 1 single crochet then increase in the next (which means make two single crochets in the SAME stitch) and repeat this till you reach the end of the round so 1 SC, inc, 1 SC, inc.... (you should have 18 stitches by the end of the round)
I’ve made three off it, until the fourth, finally I can did it:))

What happens if you use slightly thicker yarn - eg 3.25mm hook size? will it still turn out ok?

Sorry but I'm confused and I'm really new. in r2, if you skip to the second stich won't you be missing a set so would 6 become 10 in round two? I usually don't see a slip stich I guess on instructions, what is it for?
You won't actually be missing a stitch, because the first stitch that you're supposed to skip is the slip stitch. When you do a slip stitch it actually makes an extra stitch, so skipping it bring it back to normal in this pattern. The slip stitch is just a stitch to join the beginning and the end of the chain in a smooth continue. Some patterns don't skip the slip stitch, but with that method you would usually have to make a slip stitch at the end of each round. This way, you only have to make one. I hope this helps ^^

It means single crochet and increase is 1 set, you need to do 6 sets

You can just use the same pattern as in the video and not switch yarn colours

You can make it one color! Just do not switch colors at all throughout the pattern and you should be good ^^
