- This is a video of my first ever reaction to Seventeen!!!. I hope you all enjoyed watching the video for the first time as much as i did. Super dope concert, great rapping/ singing and a super clean performance from beginning to end. This was a 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

Very Nice (This song is one of, if not their most iconic song because at the end of every concert they preforming 'Neverending Aju Nice' which is where they repeatedly play it. Often times the members will try to end the concert and the staff starts playing it again so they keep preforming)
Seventeen is has three units (Vocal, performance, and hip-hop) which all focus primarily on their respective roles. All of their names from left to right at the start (1:29); Jeonghan (Vocal unit), Scoups (Hiphop unit), Jun (Performance unit), Hoshi (Performance unit), DK (Vocal unit), Woozi (Vocal unit), Wonwoo (Hiphop unit), Seungkwan (Vocal unit), The8 (Performance unit), Mingyu (Hiphop unit), Joshua (Vocal unit), Vernon (Hiphop unit), Dino (Performance unit). Each unit has their own leader which are Scoups, Woozi, and Hoshi but Scoups is both the Hiphop unit leader as well as the general leader for the whole group. Seventeen is largely known for their performances as they're one of, if not the best group in kpop when it comes to dancing! If you want to see their choreography, I'd definitely recommend checking out some of their dance practices. Personal favorites of mine are; God of music, HIT, Don't Wanna Cry, 24H (a Japanese release), and Fallin' Flower (Another Japanese release).
For their most recent comeback, they released a music video for not only the title track, but also the unit songs! I would recommend listening to the title track, Mastreo, as well as the unit songs so you can get a bit of a feel for them. LALALI is the Hiphop unit's song, Spell is the Performance unit's song, and Cheers to Youth is the vocal unit's song.
Were they actually, lml. They still sound great for a group that’s been out as long as they have. Thanks for all of the information, they definitely seem like they have a really great history/ discography.

I want to add all members write lyrics and some compose and produce. the two main songwriters are member Woozi the little blonde guy whose falsetto you liked and Vernon the Rapper that you liked. they have the most songwriting credits in the double digits at this point. All members do sing and several members can rap, also Seventeen are considered the best dancer in Kpop with a 95 percentile of synchronization the highest of any Kpop group. they have been known in the Western market since debut when they performed at Kcon in LA. Vernon and Joshua are American born and fluent in English some of the members knew some English in the beginning but have become better overtime speaking it, they also have two Chinese members as well so their popularity in china is quite high since one of the Chinese members was a well known Chinese child actor, they are quite popular in Japan as well having recorded several Japanese albums and their latest album 17 right here was just certified double platinum, They are also the biggest selling global artist of 2023. they have quite a huge discography of not only group songs but singles, duets, collaborations with American and European artists, Unit songs and drama ost soundtracks.

thank you for reacting to SEVENTEEN! I'll try to give a little summary of their career since there's a lot to cover and other CARATs have already helped with the names of the songs.
SEVENTEEN (also SVT) is a 13-member boy group from PLEDIS ENT. They debuted on May 26th, 2015 (9th anniversary just passed!) with the EP '17 CARAT'. They are know as a SELF PRODUCING IDOL GROUP since all of the members are involved in writing, composing and producing their songs, choreographies and content. Also got the name of 'Most Synchronized Group', 'K-pop Performance Powerhouse' and 'Theater Kids of K-pop' because of their amazing performances and dedication to their work.
The name SEVENTEEN come from the meaning: 13 members + 3 units (vocal, performance and hiphop) + 1 team = 17. The units represent the members' most strong ability, vocalists, dancers and rappers, respectively. They have special units as well; BSS (BooSeokSoon), known mostly as the funniest trio in the group. SVT Leaders, each main unit has a leader and it's formed by SEVENTEEN's general leader, SEVENTEEN's producer and SEVENTEEN's main choreographer.
Fandom name is CARAT, as in the unit of mass to measure diamonds. Since SVT being the diamonds themselves, and we, as fans, are the reason why they shine. The have A LOT of content under their belt which can be overwhelming to get to but my recommendation is to watch the following:

I normally don't recommend but seeing how much you enjoy it, I think their latest album '17 IS RIGHT HERE' is their best album/compilation album and title track MAESTRO! They also released unit songs LALALI (hiphop), SPELL (performance) and Cheers To Youth (vocal) are the best start imo!

I won’t repeat what everyone else has said, but yes, they debuted in 2015. Which means they have a lot of content. Between the music and the choreography and their variety show Going Seventeen, you could go down a seventeen rabbit hole and not come out for years. Because not only do they do stuff as a group, but they have stuff by subunits and a lot of solo projects. Another thing to note is that they are self produced, so there’s so much variety in their content that it is almost impossible not to find something you like. Because they do a little bit of everything.

Some insights into Seventeen (I hope you end up listening to them a whole lot more).
First, when they first started out they were part of a small company that was struggling financially.
They are known as self-producing because they literally had to do everything - they wrote and produced their songs and also participated in their choreography. They made their company, and their fans love them but hate their company.
The one you liked (in a white shirt with smooth vocals) is their composer and producer Woozi (we love him!!!!).
The one with great English (Joshua) and the "rapper" (Vernon) are American - Vernon's dad is Korean but his mum is white.
They are divided into 3 main units, so usually on albums they will have whole group songs and unit songs. This is how they decide who gets to sing what.
On whole group songs, they've mentioned that they work with their company to decide who sings what, but they ALL get a part.
As far as I know they've only had 1 and only 1 English song. They tend to sing only in Korean and Japanese since that's where their biggest market are. They did sing a Chinese song during one of their concert but it was never released.
They have some English songs - solos and duo (Joshua and Vernon). They also have some Chinese songs since 2 of their members are Chinese + but again, these would be solos and duos.
Their company got bought by Hybe, which depending on which group of fans you ask, can be seen as a good thing or a bad thing.
They are super SUPER royal to each other. They actually renewed their contract a year before the previous one even expired.
I have to say, they are an amazing group that does things their own way, but they have amazing MUSIC!!!!

They are also funny and a united group. FML and Face the Sun are two of the best albums (try reacting the whole album because they are amazing).

I believe they did their first english track bc k-pop started to skyrocket even more than it ever has maybe during the pandemic or a little before. another HUGE k-pop group called BTS began to pick up hella traction in the USA. They even won awards in the USA. So, after BTS started that many other groups started producing more english songs to connect with more fans over seas.

Yeah you should react to their 'Face The Sun' album first, the one where Hot song was included! It's a great start for me, it's my favorite album from them.
I only recently discovered your channel after watching your reactions to ateez, and i remember that you said people were saying you were being too animated, but i just want to say that please dont listen to them! you match the energy of the songs and truly appreciate the artistry these artists put foward. we loveeee!!! when people express their enjoyment for kpop songs very outwardly!
and to be honest, with how kpop stans act, you aren't even 1/10th as dramatic or crazy as kpop stans when they listen to their favorite groups music, so don't be worried by it!
also regarding your question about why they waited until 2022 to release an english track, its because in kpop around 2020-2022 it became a kind of trend to release songs in english to appeal to a wider, more general audience across the world. I think thats because during the pandemic, a lot of people started getting into kpop, specifically more people in english speaking countries. there are many older kpop songs that are fully in english, for example wonder girls who released their track "nobody" in both english and korean in 2009, or BoA who released a fully english album in 2009. However it didn't really become a trend until 2021/2022.

Seventeen has 2 main vocals - Seungkwan(blond with grey jacket) & DK(did the growling in the beginning), 2 main dancers - Hoshi(blond with black rider jacket) & Dino(the most right position), while they never really officially labelled anyone as the main rapper, Vernon(half half white & black jacket) is kinda the unofficial main rapper.
Seventeen can be divided into 3 groups, the Vocal Team (5 people), Performance Team (4 people), and Hip Hop Team (4 people).
But yeah they are all really well rounded, they can sing well, dance freakin well. They make their own music. Woozi (one of the member, the one with nice falseto voice) he is their main producer, along with one of their longtime producer Bumzu. They make like ~99% of their discographies.
I really enjoyed this reaction! Seventeen make great music and are amazingly talented singers. So many of their songs just make me happy, they're so fun and lovely.
You asked for more suggestions, and there are two groups I'd love to see you react to: Mamamoo (the first ones to have a Killing Voice, they are star-level singers), and ONEWE (a kband, very underrated but with amazing vocals and incredible instrumentalists; they compose their own songs). For Mamamoo, I definitely recommend their Killing Voice, it's phenomenal. Well their rap line (hiphop unit) mentioned before that they really don't classify so much between main and lead rappers but in my opinion and I believe all Carats (Seventeen's fans) agree that the main rappers are Vernon (half black/half white jacket) and S.Coups (leader, half blonde mullet with half ponytail) while the lead rappers are Wonwoo (guy with glasses) and Mingyu (tallest guy wearing black/navy(?) blazer)
