Had few questions about this knife on my Instagram channel. Plus a few about an affordable alternative to the Tops Tom Brown Tracker. Hmmm..... Is this it.
....aaaaand Purchased!! Always admired Wenger Blades designs and even used the full size version as a basis for a Nepalese Custom I had forged. Should be with me for the weekend, for a quick mod (strip the metal, sharpen the spine and patina!) and woodland wander!
Knockout video mate. Had loads of questions and you covered all. You're quite right about there not being any other videos on this blade, so I was very pleased when I scrolled onto this one. Much appreciated. Cheers

Got mine from Hienne . I’ve stripped the powder coating but left the acid etch underneath reconvexed the belly with wet and dry and an eraser and touched up the quarter moon and hollow grind with the sharp maker . For the price this is an absolute steal . No movement in the sheath either . Mines serial number 0107 👍. I’m looking forward to seeing how it fares in the woods as I usually carry a Kukri and an Enzo Elver .
Mate that sounds mint. If your on Facebook pop over to the "Tracker Action Pictures group" we'd all love to see it. I stripped mine just like I did the Esee 6 in my video:- ruclips.net/video/Z1t5rHq0HsI/видео.html Though I couldn't take the scales off of course but that was fine 😁
Feral Grandad I’m home at the weekend mate . I’ll take a few pics in the woods on my first outing with it and post it on the tracker page 👍. £59 for 1095 , micarta scales with brass pins and a really good quality sheath . It’s not often we get a good deal in the Uk with knives but this is a cracking deal .
@@feralgrandad4429 well I’ve had a play in the woods . Mixed feelings though I’m liking it more and more . I’ve removed the acid etch as it wasn’t hard wearing . I’ve requested to join the tracker action page . I think I could learn to really love this design . I’ll order another as a backup when they come back in stock .
I have looked on the Wenger site and the original is now only made to order but is $575 base price the full sized one over $700. I hope Boker do the full size one. The Boker looks identical to the original.
Mine has just landed from Moonraker Knives as Heinnie Haynes still showing out of stock. Took 4 days and more expensive so when HH get back in I would recommend them. I was really surprised at the quality, what a bargain. The leaflet it comes with states conception, design and construction take place in Germany and manufactured in Europe, the USA and Asia.
I appreciate your review, ordered one from Optics Planet here in the states. I collect knives as well and want a tracker without a hefty price tag and this fits the bill.
Have you had any time to field test this knife? I'm not so sure about ordering one after seeing a video of the tang breaking. It is not a full tang knife, instead there is a skeletonized tang. Not sure if I could trust this to baton or chop after all.
Great video! I’m in the US and there are none available anywhere. Even the Boker-USA site lists the knife as ‘discontinued’ although it only became available on October 1st. Found one at Heinnie and ordered it. Hopefully there won’t be any issues shipping to Arkansas. I’ve had my eyes on the Wenger iteration of this blade for a while now but just can’t do the $700 price tag. Fingers crossed y’all. 😊
Just ordered one from Hienne . I’ve always been intrigued by the tracker design but the price was too high for Tops . At under £60 posted it was a steal . I’ll be removing the coating on mine 👍
Just ordered one. I have the Tops. SXB also the Tops Tracker 4 so wanted something in between. Tops do the SXS to buddy the SXB but Heinnie Haynes could not get one. I think it had something to do with EJ Syniders skull motif making it a zombie knife. This Boker is a similar size to that so it should fit the bill nicely and is only a third the price. It is also a bit more pointier which makes it a bit different to my other 2 . Does your box state where it’s made? I know the proper Bokers are German but can’t imagine at this price being made there. I tried to get this from Heinnies but as you said in your video it went out of stock straight away. I thought I’d better order one b4 Tops get them banned for copyright issues as they ready have the tracker 4 named as the Mini Tracker.
I just bought one. Mine was definitely made on monday morning. The hook grind on the side with Boker logo is like 1 mm off. There is no sharp tip on hook as well as sharpening do not match primary grind. Its hard to see on your video but the hatchet part grind is not flat. Its 2x hollow grind covered under coating. Can see it and feel it under fingers tips. All that presentation box and serial nr is useless if they can not sharpen it properly. Tooks me 1 hour to make it slice paper. Im disappointed. Amazing service from HH like always. Serial nr on mine 1236.
what if you stick the knife in a log then drag the stick toward you rather than the knife toward you? it seems like draggin the knife toward you is an unnecessary risk even if the user is confident and capable.
Indeed you can do, it's a legitimate technique. I've done it with axes too. But it's not utilising the half moon for its designed use. So if you're never going to use it there are plenty other knives that might suit just as well or better.
Neither Beck nor Brown are the original designer or maker of the Tracker knife. the original designer and maker was Rob Russen if you want the true story of the knife and how it came to be see attached video: ruclips.net/video/XqlkFpzaQdY/видео.html
@@justinhunt3687 the Boker mini tracker is similar size to the T2 if you look at the specs. I am finding it to be an excellent tool. I also love my T4 that I buddy with my Tops SXB which both are superb tools. The Boker obviously can’t match Tops quality but at the price is an absolute bargain. It’s drop point is also a bit different to the Tops so as a 3 tool system option you will have all bases covered.
7 months use. No failure yet. Will put follow up video soon. By now I'd usually used on couple or three international trips but Covid travel restrictions have curtailed that far bit so delaying my follow up video.
Pretty sure it's made in Taichung City Taiwan. Big step up from China. A lot Spydercos Premier better knives also made in Taichung. Been making quality cutlery there for a long time.

Hell yeah, that looks proper, I love it! I’d love to see a knife coating removal video. Great video, big thumbs up

Been looking for a smaller knife for a trip to the Andes. Thanks for posting the video, I've been waiting to see what it looks like in hand 👍
Mine has number 0003 it came from Böker Germany to Denmark in two days..👍🏻❤️😎
Thank for the review! I've been lookink for one, but have not found.
Waiting for the next one!
Good looking knife. Your videos comparison to Tracker is very useful. HH service is just a top notch.

Caveman didn't do anything that should have broken that knife. No thanks Boker.

Man I really love that blade 😍
I like this small tracker buddy.
Looking forward to seeing that other video. Do you think both grinds will be ok for battoning like are they thick enough to not brake
We will see. My instincts say yes will be fine but we will see. Good thing about basic 1095 steel is its very easy to heat treat correctly.
@@feralgrandad4429 brilliant mines on the way .I get frightened when people say hollow grind iv broke a few

When are you going to post an outdoor review on this blade?

Rob Russon designed the tracker knife, Tom Brown junior claimed it as his idea,, shame on him,, 🤯
That knife with the T1's weight would be better.
Dave Wenger makes one but is well over $700. Let’s hope Boker Plus buys that design.
Yes sir. Would you say this is closer to the T2 or T3 by size and weight?

If I'm feeling like carrying the T1's weight I'll take my T1. But I like this being a lighter option.
Too much weight reduction under the handle, failure to follow.

I came to see the boker mini tracker, not to hear about the Tom Brown tracker, ur wasting air talking about it.
Couple others found comparison helpful in their purchase decision-making paradigm.
Wrong again,Rob Russon is the inventor and designer of the tracker not tom brown tom brown is not and never has been a knife designer or maker
