Please note the enormous difference between the cleanliness and order that reigns in the Milan Metro stations in contrast to the Rome metropolitan railway stations which have more graffitied trains than the New York one

In the window of the ATM ticket office of the *DUOMO* metro station, brass models of the Red line were displayed: at the time they cost more than €1000.00 and were sold with a piece of track equipped with a 3rd and 4th rail. If you go to Milan let me know if they still sell them

They're the so called "Tradizionali" on line M3, there used to be 3 trains with the same sound on line M2 but they've been demolished in 2019

Wtf? Milan metro is actually one of the newest in Europe & arguably the best! The first line opened in 1964, sure, but it was made using all modern standards that are still in use today: very wide trains and platforms, with mezzanine and big stations. It's also the most accessible metro in Europe. Also it continues to expand constantly, with the new AUTOMATIC metro line M4 fully opening next month, October 22 (was partially opened since 2022) while the M5, also fully automatic, opened recently in 2015. It's even looking into building a 6th line...
