For in the future when you play in merlin’s shop you can do a gathering spell and it will get all the magic and items from every building

To get that amount of gems, it's mostly real life money. However, you can get gems from chests, parade floats, when you level up characters, etc.
How are you getting given gems? I keep having trouble with gameloft to fix the game and not receiving anything.
