Used this to do my grinch makeup for a group Jim Carrey costume and got sooooo many compliments on my makeup. Thank you!!! So easy to follow and great results!
Love, love, love the absence of music! It’s so peaceful. You are crazy good at the makeup. I also enjoy that it was not fast-forwarded,I love being able to see it in real-time. It turned out so cute!
Amazing. You're without a doubt the best face-painting artist I've ever seen. Like I've said before you're brush strokes are so sleek and the way you create the illusion of form and texture is so inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing all your techniques so generously!
Our house was in total silence for a change as my wife,My daughter,Who is a make up artist herself,My little nephew who wants to be the Grinch and certainly behaves like him at times, sat watching your makeover clip.Thumbs up from us all.
That was really awesome. Impressed that its all face paint too... Usually on these advanced face paintings, to get it to look as good as yours, they use make up or some combo of make up and face paint cause make up blends better. But clearly you can blend face paint well if you know how to work it. Amazing job.
That was amazing, I have seen other great tutorials for this however most of them use liquid latex and things so yours is definitely more practical! :)
We just got home from our community "Horse and Carriage" Christmas Parade. My husband is my assistant in my "Face Painting by Gran "D". Mild mannered "PopPop" pulled our "mini-float" with a lime green hoodie and his face painted as "Mr, Grinch". It was such a hit, I have at least one job for another parade in the next county. Their master of ceremonies will be "Grinch". I watch several and felt like yours was the most realistic without the use of prosthetics.
Hi, I am singing at my building's Christmas party tomorrow night and my ten year old son is helping me. We decided today that he is going as the Grinch and after looking through all the pics of tutorials, he decided on yours so thanks so much. Am really excited about it, he will look so cool.
You did a great job on the paint. You look just like him. This video was great information for my wreath I make, I see what I can add to make it look more realistic. I try to bring the best look out when I do it
Your tutorial was used to make me look like the Grinch last night for a "Whoville" themed Christmas party at a retirement facility i work at. it turned out fantastic and kids were terrified when they saw me. Thanks for making the video. Id love to show you a picture but i dont know how using RUclips.
Thanks so much! I really like Paradise but I find that it works much better for blending and base work than it does for lines. I've never tried Tag but have heard good things. I want to get hold of some of their split cakes.
Just thought I would pop in and say, I followed your tutorial to do this on my 7 year old daughter for book week and my god, it was the best tutorial I’ve seen! Her grinch face turned out amazing so thank you ❤️
Ashlea, What color greens did you use from the site, you also bought black as well correct? and which brushes as well? And do you need to use anything specific to wash it off ? Does the sponge come with the paint or do I need to buy that as well?
Bravo Ashlea!!! I 'm prepearing my new Christmas play, a Grinch Musical and your instructiions were Really Theatrical, easy and helpfull.... Thank You so much....
I have no interest in makeup ...but I am an artist and the push and pull of depths you can do is really awesome. I seen Jennamarbles posted about you and then I seen this vid. BRAVO. I subscribed....can't wait to see more art from you. :D
As I was watching your fantastic transformation I found myself half wondering what situation I could come up with to try this make up! I do some cosplaying at conventions, so I am hoping someone I know will want to cosplay the Grinch and allow me to do their make up!! Thank you again for your inspiration! ~M x
I've attempted this with cream makeup in preparation for Halloween and have been unsuccessful with getting the colors to blend when adding lines over the base. Can you lend some suggestions that may make it easier?
Awesome, thank you SO much. We're doing a Christmas play at church in less than two weeks and this has helped me so much be able to transform our actor into the Grinch. What kind of paint did you use?
Great tutorial!! Did you do anything with the makeup before you applied it? I have the same products as you but your makeup looks easier to apply? (more "wet") And did you create a base first, for example facecream or primer or anything? thanks in advance! :)
Brilliant. As a 76year old geriatric I have used this tutorial to create the Grinch for an annual fundraising Christmas Tombola. This year will be the third year I will be doing it. Next year .... Scrooge!
Hello! I've recently just fallen in love with your tutorial for the grinch face painting. I'm going out tomorrow night & today went out & bought some paint to attempt with. But I couldn't find face paint & I thought that normal paint would do the same thing. But instead it stung my eyes so bad & they wouldn't stop watering for me to finish. I had a look at the paint you use, but any suggestions as to what I could buy in Australia-brisbane that would do the same if not similar job?
Alejandra Moran It depends what country you are in. Google your local supplier and you could save on shipping, if not try Silly Farm. They stock absolutely everything and ship worldwide.

Love it great job. I plan to use your tips this year.
I think this one was alot better than Kat Sketches. Her face looked super wet and greasy with the paint she used. Good job, looks good!
Amazing is the only word I can seem to find for this piece of work... Bravo!

What kind of stores can you get the brushes from? Cause I went to dollarama but there are really crappy brushes?
Did you use”light green” and do you think one 15mL tin is enough?
Great tutorial!! Did you do anything with the makeup before you applied it? I have the same products as you but your makeup looks easier to apply? (more "wet") And did you create a base first, for example facecream or primer or anything? thanks in advance! :)
It's water activated paint.
