Yeah, there always has been. Back when I still flew RC (the 90s), the best RC magazines were the German ones. Visited the Intermodellbau in Dortmund a couple of times. Fun times.

Am Segelflugplatz des NNZC, damals noch stationiert ganz neben das TT Circuit, gab es im Jahren 70 ein Unimog, um die zwei Seile des Windes wieder nach die Start Stelle zu schleppen. 40 Jahre später bin ich noch immer ein Petrolhead. Das ändert nie! Die Unimog sind sehr starke Fahrzeuge. Teuer, aber Qualität. Vielen Dank für die Erinnerung.
I was a paratrooper in the Bundeswehr. It’s my beloved transport airplane. We called it “Hai” (shark) due to the high vertical fin. A phantastic model with all the details including push-back and so on.👍🏻

At certain points, you could not even tell that it was a model. Animatronix and a camera in the cockpit would be the icing on the cake.

Kudos to the builder and pilot! That's very realistic. One of the happiest sights I've ever had was seeing a C-160 on approach to Kunduz airfield, because I knew I'd be on it leaving that place forever.

Gorgeous it is, astounding in detail, fit and finish. However I saw a total failure to apply sufficient, if any, rudder during banking turns, so he could use some simulator practice.

My stepfather was a crew Chief for C130s in the Air National Guard. I loved going to their events where civilians could come check out the aircraft and meet the crews. It’s amazing how large those aircraft are and what they are capable of. The C130 looks similar size to the 160. I know the 130 can land and take off from an aircraft carrier without jet assist. Anyone knowing aircraft knows that is absolutely insane! Accelerating that fast to make take off speed and stopping that much weight that fast!!!! I bet those seat belts left black and blue marks. I had one of the pocket quick diagnostic and references manuals for these planes in my zip up binder all through out middle school and high school. I guess I was a different kind of kid.

There is something about transports and airliners models they only look convincing once they have a certain size and volume to them . 😎👍🏼
I think that's because of two things: they're more stable in flight, en they generally fly closer to their scale speed.

True i saw a giant scale eletric Depron Hughes Spruce Goose and in the air . It flew uncannily true to scale.. only when it touched water and it barely sat on it did it give the game away ..

@Friedrich Dusold Von meiner Mutter ein Bekannter, der war auch in Penzing und ist dort geflogen. Er hat aber früh mit dem Dienst aufgehört, weil er sich nach seiner Scheidung um seinen kleinen Sohn kümmern musste. Der Sohn ist dann auch Flugkapitän geworden, und ist jetzt arbeitslos.

Sehr schönes Modell alleine der sound vom anlassen der motoren hammer aber auch das schleppen mit dem unimog genial . Einzig nicht ganz perfekt ist die Geschwindigkeit ich finde die ist um einiges zu hoch und passt so optisch nicht ganz perfekt zu dem genialen Modell . Vermutlich geht es Technisch nicht viel langsamer aber da bin ich etwas überfragt ansonsten Perfekt .
Man könnte in der Tat etwas länger die Startgeschwindigkeit aufbauen, aber zum fliegen brauchen die kleinen leider diese Geschwindigkeit, was sich leider auf den grad des Realismus auswirkt :/
Ich habe einen 4 metrigen Segelflieger, der 5 kg wiegt. Mit minimal 35 - 40 km/h sieht der ganz realistisch aus (bis 150 km/h ist auch möglich). Ich vermute aber, dass dieses Modell ein Mehrfaches auf die Wage bringt und darum deutlich schneller geflogen werden muss.
