Man he sounds so happy. Much different from when he was a player. Good guy Taylor.

To this day I wonder what Nebraska would have done if he had not suffered that injury in game 5 against Missouri. He had the worst throwing motion in history, but somehow got the ball there. And speed, well, there was nothing like him for those first four games. Insane acceleration.

He would have won the heisman

I will agree since 1971 I've never seen a Q B quite like Taylor Martinez.. The guy was lightning quick when he took off and ran.

Taylor played through injuries and still made many DBs look slow. Nebraska had all the Martinez bros play as QB. Glad to see him back in Lincoln. GBR

Wish Rhule would have been your coach and not Bo, he ate ya alive, coulda been a much more all around heisman type QB, Heinrich's runs today looked like he had a bit of you! Exciting as hell!

would have loved to have seen what he could have done behind a good O-line instead of running for his life more often than not.

What I recall most is Pelini blaming Taylor for every failed offensive play and loss....at times, hard to watch. The vast majority of fans forget that Pelini rarely accepted extreme ownership of poor performances...the hallmark of a poor leader!

Taylor Martinez, was pitiful after the fifth game of his career at Nebraska. He WAS the first quarterback to be given the reigns for four years by a coach who refused to bench him for poor play. NOW, we do it on a regular basis. Adrian Martinez is another. example

No he wasn’t. He was all big 10 his junior year and never had defense in big games. Look at numbers.
