To me this is the most heartbreaking death in the series, yes the gravitas was much more there with Nuriko cause his character fully developed... Chiriko did develop in the manga but sadly not in the anime, but the way he sacrifices him self, his age and how it was executed was just heartbreaking

I can't believe that Seiryuu Buddhist Sorceror Miboshi took control of Chiriko's body. Seiryuu scumbags really knows how to use strategy. Somehow, Chiriko has no choice but to do the unthinkable is to stab himself to death as a sacrifice to protect Miaka and Miboshi's spirit shall die inside Chiriko. Chiriko is brave and the brainiac among the Suzaku Warriors. May rest in peace, Chiriko!
God I love this anime I remember staying up all night when I was in middle school watching it and I continues to cry at all the deaths. This story makes the viewer connected with the characters. I love love love this
Why are the Seiryu so over powered? It literally takes all of the Suzaku warriors to take down a single Seiryu warrior. They have all these bullshit tricks up their sleeves, and two of them apparently get reborn after death. Nakago can go through walls now (seen in last episode), and can make everybody powerless just by his will. It's ridiculous... Would've been less frustrating and more exciting to see some one-on-one battles between Seiryu and Suzaku warriors instead of watching them all get their asses whooped again and again by one Seiryu dickhead.
Exactly and almost all of them is willing to kill (except for Amiboshi now since he had a change of heart) mercilessly. It doesn’t seem to be the case with the other 7 warriors from the other gods. The division of strength and powers don’t seem fair at all.
Because Suzaku is the thord least powerful of the 4 Gods. The order of the power is Genbu, Seriyuu, Suzaku and Byakko. Byakko warriors probably were the least powerful. Nakago admitted that he was not equipped to challenge the might of Genbu warriors.
Favorite quote of all time Nakago "he who is controlled by his emotions is a target and fool, you keep showing me these weaknesses and you'll never defeat me". Well that's how he said it in the manga. Here he says it a little different. Right after he kisses Tamahome.

I cried over nuriko's death because of how much she's involve in the first half of thr series. He got strong character development. Chiriko on the other hand have few screen time and slow character development, but dude I cried a lot because, come to think of it,he's still a kid. :( But I cried the most when tamahome's family got killed.
16:04 FYI to the animators, the moment the a person dies, the mind losts its control to muscles. Thus when a person dies with the mouth gaped open and eyes glaring, they don't close on their own volition. They stay that way, unless it was tensed, then it will revert to relaxed mode.
Chiriko death seems beautiful voice and deep voice about the breathtaking heart attack, lungs to breathe deeper and most certainly. It can't breathe about the last breath. I was it on that moment.
Nakago kept playing with everyone's mind but Yuii played with his mind. 😂 I knew from the very first moment that Yuii won't grant any of her wishes to Nakago. 😂
