Am I the only person who wanted to hear the history they fast forwarded through? All of these three drinks sound lovely. I love whisky (and even whiskey) cocktails. Thanks for this!
Great video. Personally, I prefer to use seltzer water in place of ginger ale. Lets you appreciate the flavor of the whiskey more while still getting all the fizz. Add a squeeze of lemon, and you've got an amazing drink.
Why would you fast forward the expert talking about the drink he is making? Is that not why you brought him in? Super disrespectful of the craft sir! Very disappointed!
@@DrinksTube Not an acceptable excuse..The man talked about history and you edited it out...You do realize that is how the heritage of ages is lost right?? Take a good look at the world, as mundane as this point may seem on a whiskey video, it relates to the way people handle heritage and history these days...In my opinion, How do you evolve, or even know if you're evolving without history...Very ignorant and disrespectful of both the man sharing the knowledge and of the history itself...
soooo it was way different than i expected :D I used Schweppes Ginger Ale, which has a strong flavor and mixed it with my 8 year old Bushmills Irish Honey. It came out very refreshing with a light sweet note and an unexpected strong aftertaste, with rounds up the whole drink. Very nice
Been meaning to open a bottle of JW, can't wait to test out these recipes! Drinkstube is the only place I go for cocktail recipes xx also, I can listen to this man speak for the rest of my life..
In my opinion do not use good whiskey. Use a lesser whiskey if available it will still taste as good in a cocktail. In saying that I have had $200 cocktails.
Ya, great vid but not gonna lie, was super disappointed when you skipped the history section, like, bruh, this is the internet here. We have time on our hands.
How come every other video I’ve seen on highballs just makes them out to be scotch with soda water and a lemon twist, but this guy is using ginger ale, tea, oranges, and even liqueurs?
Hello Mr. Jamie, i've learnt so much from your video and thank you so much. But could you help me to give some answers. why all the spirit of the cocktails should match by the instructions? Such as mojito always with rum. How if we change it with gin? Could you give me the main reason of it? Please help me.
A more aromatic tea (like earl grey, assam or oolong) will give the drink a more complex flavour - but if you can only get breakfast tea that will be fine!
Why ask for information then skip through it? I realise many, many other people have said this, just hoping that repetition reinforces the point for future reference. Believe it or not, many people are capable of getting a couple of minutes of history explained to them without passing out with the effort of concentration.
It was very disrespectful to bring a knowledgeable guest onto your show and then completely fast forward through his explanation of the highball's history. Cocktails, and every other culinary craft have fascinating histories that should be treated with respect and interest. If you want to see how a proper cocktail video is done, watch some content from How To Drink. Greg doesn't fast forward through the backgrounds and rich histories of classic cocktails.
........... Wow this is the first thumb down i am giving this year, poor editing decision. It's one thing to not have the content, but to skip it like that. You could've cut it out instead.
hahaha too much history in the beginning? although nicely solved in editing, Rich kinda looks annoyed and Jamie is probably a bit offended by the end product of the video :D (although it might have been on purpose)...anyways, looks like a nice drink :)
relax man, no one has the same palette and some people such as myself enjoy the taste of whisky but can't stomach it straight - there's no need to be such an elitist.

Bring a guest, ask them a question and fast forward through their speech. Congrats you managed to disrespect the Scot and the viewers!
Being a good friend of Jamie, he's SO knowledgable and keen to talk about whisky, this video would have been about 3 hours long!

We just were so excited to get to the drinks part!
agreed! I'd love to listen to what he said. Could you upload the full version?
Is there a full version now?
Jamie Oliver - Drinks lame as all hell mate

Fabulous cocktail recipes..
Thanks sir .
Cheers
Dewar's is one the best Scotch i've ever tried.Simple with ice.I can imagine how good is in cocktails...
It's SO good!
So whiskey and ginger ale 3-ways...
Three VERY delicious ways.
after many years of drinking whiskey + ice, I'm going to try some highballs
Is there no link to the fast forwarded part? That was the only interesting thing in the vid. Shame.
I feel like Jamie's accent was especially good for explaining these drinks.
I made earl grey tea with loose leaf and steeped for 4 min but with i put into the fridge it turned cloudy. Any reason why
i just love whisky
DOOOO IT! Let us know which version you like best.
Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube well first I need to get some ginger ale ... :D
Get on it DeXtar!

Biri kokteyl tariflerini yazabilir mi? Kendi dilimde altyazı yok ve tarifleri bilmek istiyorum 🥺🥺🥺
His accent is even cooler than the drink
😎
This gentleman Mac has one of the sexiest voice I’ve ever heard
Delicious!!!
best whisky mix are:
whisky + coconut water
whisky + tonic water
whisky + mistela
I've never thought of using coconut water. Gonna have to try that!
Oh man - we have to try whisky and coconut water!
I prefer whisky + more whisky tbh
Been meaning to open a bottle of JW, can't wait to test out these recipes! Drinkstube is the only place I go for cocktail recipes xx

love it 💚💚💚💚💜💜💜💛💛💛 Mardi Gras drink for me nola gurl here🎷👐😅😎
WOOHOO!
What kind of gingerale is that?

Please do a video on the tea-"sirup"
Does he mean make the tea cold, or make it hot and let it cool???
Make it hot, and then let it cool!
Too sweet
Brilliant stuff (y)
WOOHOO!
can we use normal tea?
and one more thing. Do we have to use clear ice or normal ice cubes will do the trick??
There is no difference between clear ice and regular ice cubes except the look. Still just frozen water.
what about tea? Can we use any type of tea?
A more aromatic tea (like earl grey, assam or oolong) will give the drink a more complex flavour - but if you can only get breakfast tea that will be fine!
how is this glass called?
It's a highball glass!
Why is there an age restrjction
👍👍👍

Believe it or not, many people are capable of getting a couple of minutes of history explained to them without passing out with the effort of concentration.
wouldn't it be smarter to mix the modern highball in a mixing glass, then stirr it and then put it on the highball glass?

Yoo y’all really disrespected this man
If I took the time to click on this video, why fast forward through the whiskey talk?!? Argh!
The title should be "how to ruin good whisky by mixing it with other things that are not whisky"
LOL. How did you wind up here? It's a cocktails channel.
There are plenty of cocktails out there that don't require you to ruin perfectly fine whisky.
relax man, no one has the same palette and some people such as myself enjoy the taste of whisky but can't stomach it straight - there's no need to be such an elitist.
I like whisky more than most, but I don't know that I'd drink Dewar's neat. I'd generally call that a mixing whisky.
We love having whisky straight now and then - but it is fun to pep it up with other stuff too!
no, just no. never
