What's frustrating about the polls is if 73% of the same voters who say Biden should drop out split 50/50 between voting for Biden or Trump why not ask a multiple choice question if Biden is the nominee why would you vote for him. This could help candidates focus on what their strengths and weaknesses are. However, I think the poll takers want the stats vague for drama and ratings and useless reasons.

You’re making a mistake. It isn’t “party loyalty” in all I’m hearing, it’s a deep conviction (pun intended) that the other guy MUST NOT WIN at all costs. I think more on the left than the right but with some validity on both sides. As for Trump, he has something much scarier than party loyalty, he has PERSONAL FEALTY. You’re making a mistake. It isn’t “party loyalty” in all I’m hearing, it’s a deep conviction (pun intended) that the other guy MUST NOT WIN at all costs. I think more on the left than the right but with some validity on both sides. As for Trump, he has something much scarier than party loyalty, he has PERSONAL FEALTY. On Joe’s side, the people who will “vote blue no matter what” aren’t necessarily even Democrats; many of them are conservatives. But they recognize the damage a 2nd Trump Presidency would do to the stability, structure, and global standing of the nation - not to mention the harm his draconian “policies “ would inflict on U.S. Citizens. Personally I want Joe to stay in the race because according to Allan Lichtmann he is the only candidate who has all the necessary factors to win the election, with the exception of Vice President Harris, but then ONLY if Biden were to not only drop from the race but resign from the Presidency NOW, making the then President Harris the INCUMBENT.Furthermore, historically, it is my understanding that NO substitute candidate in the middle of a campaign has ever gone on to win the General Election for President.

Trump is polling ahead in most of the swing states ... and Trump has pulled ahead of Biden in Biden's home state of Pennsylvania. Also, Virginia has now turned into a competitive state. I regularly get asked to take polls, but I refuse. There must be lots pf people who have strong views but won't take polls. That's why I'm dubious of the wisdom of pinning too much on polls, though I enjoy the polls that have Biden ahead. ;-) If one must clutch at straws, that's the kind I enjoy. :-)
Biden is also the sitting president. Look at what he wakes to every day. Campaigning on top of that? I would need some serious down days, too. Unite (US) in a loving, compassionate state of consciousness.

There are a lot of people who simply don't vote. That's going to be the issue. They stay home, Dems lose. Same happened with Hillary and Gore, just enough people in swing state don't vote or protest vote, and the EC goes to the GOP.

I still think most democratic primary voters would have chosen someone else if we knew what we know now. Voters would not have any problem with moving on if he was in a coma or died of natural causes. We are smart enough to understand that humans can become incapacitated at any age. That is what vice presidents are for. The fact that his condition is so borderline makes this so damn hard. If he was ranting like a total madman like trump, but still did not want to give-up, there would be less angst about it. However, I still think he would be a real hero if he took one for team like Al Frankin did.
All I can think of, is that perhaps he could let Harris be president, and he could stay on as a top advisor. He claimed that he had an agenda to complete, but he won't accomplish anything if Benedict Donald wins the Electoral College. Harris could pledge to complete the agenda to satisfy that desire with a greater chance of it actually happening. You can't tell me he is the only one who can carry out a policy agenda.
No one is ignoring Benedict Donald's insanity besides his cult. His vote count is not going to change no matter what. The massive number of extra voters that Democrats need to win the Electoral College must be convinced not to stay home or vote 3rd party. So, Biden's (in)coherence perception is the key to this race, and that is why we are focusing on it while we still have a chance. The base is on board no matter what. But the base alone don't win the race.

Biden should go for Vice-President. Pit the other candidates against each other at the convention, see who comes out on top. And make them take Biden as Vice. Let him mentor, and keep his policies, experience and connections in the White House. But let another be the face of it. He'll get to say "America needs a President that listens. So, I did". And whoever does become the president can pardon his son, so he won't even have to choose between his son and the presidency, as he is now.
