I can't stand beauty counters. They bombard ppl making them feel like they cannot browse & try makeup first. Plus they pressure customers to buy things as well as judge a lot. That's why I like drugstores, Sephora & Ulta.

Yeah, it can be really hit and miss! The problem is on counters you are told to go in for the hard sell, and add on products so that you maximise sales. It can feel very overwhelming when you are just looking to shop for one item! I'm from the UK but love to shop in Sephora whenever I visit the USA.... they do seem pretty friendly!
