@@BrionneOlsen figured it out for anyone else who has the same problem, do a settings reset. It was probably some option that inhibited it. Not sure what it could be, but after settings reset it worked!
Thanks for the video. As a wildlife and product videographer shutter angle is of no use to me so the update is irrelevant. The FX30 is a great camera though.

Not sure if you're trying to be artistic or if your lens is constantly focus hunting but it's a bit distracting. I thought it was to cover your edits but I don't think it is. Good explanation of shutter angle.
Ja, it’s a zoom transition effect I saw on Man of Steel. I think it might be too much. I prefer the zoom in rather than a hard punch in. But perhaps next time with less blur effect 👍🏽
The update basically broke AF on all my lenses, adapted don't work at all, the Sony 18-105 sometimes works but defaults to MF at random times, the Viltrox 1.4 primes have been the best but still are on MF at camera start up. Also my playback is doing weird stuff... I don't know how to explain it but is seems to do something different every time I use it... and I need it to LiveU to one client so thats just annoying af.
AF works on all my Sony lenses and I had to update my Sigma 16mm to the latest firmware update and AF works. Outside of that I don’t have any other issues.

Thanks for the video! I was able to update my new FX30 with the 5.0 firmware on the day it came out. So far, couldn't find any issues *knock on wood*
I’ve also not experienced any issues with the FX30 so far. The update holds. Hopefully Sony will get the issue sorted soon enough.
Oh no.. just did this and shutter angle with a few other options are greyed out…
From which firmware did you upgrade from?

@aaroncadena6398 ah, that’s awesome that you figured it out! Weird that the installation doesn’t reset to factory settings. Never thought of that.
Does anyone still have the Sony fx30 ver 4.00 update file? I don’t really want to upgrade to ver 4.00
I have the 4.00 no problems as of now
@@380productions2 do you still have the update file on your sd card?
@@cyrayn I did it thru the creators app

TBH, it hasn’t changed anything in the way I shoot video. I will probably appreciate it more on a film set.
At the time of posting this video, Sony has not reinstated the FX30 Ver 5.0 update. Will update everyone as soon as the update is back up.

I'm upset been waiting forever still no update
Yeah, it’s ridiculously long.

@@BrionneOlsen Lucky :)
What version did you update from? I was on ver. 4.0 before updating.
@@BrionneOlsen I was on version 4.0 and all my lens firmware is up to date. Seems to be quite a few of us with issues. :(
@cameragod1 so weird. I hope I don’t run into issues later on. So far, so good.
