Brandon, Kate and Michael, If by chance you happen to read this, I'd like to wholeheartedly thank you for this wonderful experience. This audiobook along with your lectures and writing advice , Brandon helped me a lot, during this work from home period and to raise my spirits on days I'm down
When I started this series I was ever so slightly skeptical with how quickly we were thrown into a completely unknown world, new experiences, and an off the wall different fantasy world with it's own quirks...It was something I was not sure I was okay with starting, but knowing the previous work Mistborn that I had read and enjoyed, I decided to continue. Needless to say I am beyond hooked, I find myself hanging on to decisions made by these characters for good or bad, I enjoy the short exposition thrown in here and there JUST enough to explain the unfamiliar world and build my understanding of it all the more...I'm glad I continued and I am absolutely hooked. I cannot wait to see where this book takes me. It's refreshing seeing a world that separates itself from typical fantasy, holds an air of mystery, but still manages to make itself feel familiar without extended exposition, and boring "Tell rather than show" chapters. It's a good balance, and I find myself dug in to the point that I am a little frustrated when viewpoint changes from a character I thoroughly enjoy...only to be drawn in and hooked into the next character...only to be repeated again. Through repetition I learn that switching viewpoints is something I can very much enjoy, and that the information given ties the story into itself, filled with moments of revelation, and suspense. To sum this up in the most "Me" way possible, I'll leave it with a simple statement ;) This is some good shit.
You speak my thoughts. At first, I was really not into the world but it quickly became addicting. If Mistborn is a nice snack, then Stormlight Archive is a grand feast of slightly odd, but delicious food. I could natter on all day about it lol.
Jasnah and Hoid are my new favorite platonic OTP. I feel like all the gossips in Roshar will assume they’re a couple (and maybe they are) but I personally think they’re just besties, and I love that dynamic. I’m not against them as a romantic pairing though, it just seems unlikely.

Poor Ash. And glad that Jasna seems to rule with brain rather than sword. I love you Dalinar but .... Well, yeah. Free people and make the sweeping changes while everything is broken down anyway.
@@Destructavin I mean, you're not wrong It probably wouldn't help the whole "High King" fiasco for Dalinar to be followed by the starving Assassin in White who killed something like half of the world's monarchs.
@@jacksoncolvin6721 i didn’t know exactly when he would drop these, but I did know that the text chapters would get released at 9 am EST at tor. So, I just assumed ol sando would follow up with the audio book sometime after that.
by pausing the "mess with papers" video and running a complex AI powered image analyzer, I have determined that at some point between page 840 and page 926 the viewpoint character of the current chapter undergoes a revelation of how spoilers are dumb. Brandon is a legend for releasing these chapters early!
Seriously? *Again*? The game's not really my cup of tea (I want flying cars in a cyberpunk game, and this unfortunately won't scratch that itch), but I feel really bad for you guys who are looking forward to it. Man, that sucks. That means it's also not gonna be able to function as a launch title for the next consoles...
@@hugham Yeah that's a good perspective to have, just enjoy it. It kinda sucks though, because some people plan out time (maybe even take time off work, etc) based on the release dates, so y'know, it's just unfortunate but I'm glad you're going with the flow, that's how it should be
I think they have a relationship of mutual support, but I would be very surprised if they were romantically involved. That doesn't strike me as either Jasnah's or Hoid's style.
I do as well, though I think they're probably just connected because they both know things about the cosmere. Dumb Alethi gossip doesn't know why else they would be talking.
These audiochapters seem to be pre-release versions (I hope). I notice periodic sound level changes that are not present in any of the many Sanderson audio-books that I have from Audible.
Interesting. Fused using weapons that resist shardblades and soulcasting, but it's a mysterious substance to the person who used aluminum in her fabrials to create a flying ship. Is it some kind of aluminum alloy or something new?
Ah, the last sample chapter shows it is actually aluminum. She gives her speech on fabrials before they learned about aluminum. Good indication of the time difference between the speech and the chapters. At first it was a mysterious substance. By the present its a known material that made possible an airship that just had its first shakedown mission. Nice work Navani!!
A link to the serialized edition on TOR would be a great addition to the descriptions. www.tor.com/2020/10/27/read-rhythm-of-war-by-brandon-sanderson-chapter-seventeen/
Why would you kill your books chances at massive, unrivalled success since were all trapped and socially isolated during a pandemic? Maybe only because of love and Christian empathy, realizing this experience is worth more to the poor, financially devastated fans, than the author or the book stores. Seriously. Thank you. Bless you.
only a few more chapters will be released. Until the end of part1 of the books. And its still will be like only 1/6 of the whole book. This is a teaser.

Jasnah is lesbian... probably. So I see that unlikely as you said
This book is off to an excellent start. Rhythm of War has a chance to be the best book of the Stormlight Archive to date.
Jasnah being a utilitarian gives me so much good vibes.
Aw sweet, Looks like Shinovar is finally coming into the picture. Ive always wanted some more on the ground zero of the void bringers.
Sounds like Aluminum is the light metal the Fused use. We know that it cancels Allomancy, so it probably can cancel other cosmere magics.
Sounds like the metal wit gave to Azure to hide the usage of soulcasting from the fused. Should be right
Probably cancels investiture in general. Curious to see how the other metals affect stormlight.
yup this is confirmed in the later chapters
Navani: *worries about what Wit is up to*
Zahel: "That's because Wit is an asshole."

Jasnah.
You bring light into these dark times.
Szeth trained with the various honor blades! Get him out of prison and maybe he can help!
The guy's unstable though. And, of course, most of the Alethi, and presumably the Vedens and Makabaki, hate him with a passion.
