I saw Sonic Youth get booed offstage when they opened for Neil Young in Portland Maine. Neil was so livid, he stopped playing in Maine. Great f'n band.
Glad you liked this one. Sonic Youth are one of my favorites. They started out in the early 80s out of the No Wave scene in NY. they were always a great blend of Art Rock/Alternative Rock and Noise so all of those weird bends and tones are on purpose. Schizophrenia is a great song, or if you got 20 mins and want more of a trip into the noise, there is always The Diamond Sea
I had the good fortune to see this band live more than once and each time they were amazing - the video doesn't come close to capturing their power live - in the upswing in this song when done like it hits like a punch to the chest. Also yes they have lots of guitars and basses all tuned differently - they had a crate full of them with their necks stick up on the side of the stage.
Great reaction to a great song. This band is all over the place, when it comes to soft, quiet, pretty, ugly, fucked up, captivating. It's a long journey, but it's worth it. Thank you for this.
Got some great tunes flowing Teez.....some following now Brother......love the way you keep us shit locked tight....truly do play all requests......love your show....KEEP KEEPIN ON !!!!!!
The guys that found Nirvana. Edit: And Jason Lee the then skateboarder turned actor. Loved his Impossible Ollie in the video for 100% and then all of a sudden he's in movies.
I love this band soooo much. Also love that you are going a LOT wider than anyone else out there. I'm going to throw out that I think you'd also dig the Geraldine Fibbers. Anything off of Lost Somewhere Between The Earth And My Home. Dragon Lady would be. Good start, but Richard is my favourite from that album. 😀
Sometimes when you don't take notes you just sit and smile. Makes everyone else smile too. Good job bud.

Sonic Youth! Love them. So much to choose from. I saw them in 2007ish. They are still so great live.

Do Cross the Breeze. Masterpiece of a song.
Teez, listen to Ricardo's suggestion for The Breeders for a great female band. Maybe start with "Cannonball?" Yep! I'm still basic.
