  • Methiyu or Methiya Keri is a Traditional Gujarati Pickle Recipe, The main ingredient for this recipe is Mango and Crush Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) thus its called Methiyu. I learn this traditional recipe from my Nani Santa Baa, She is 93 years old and makes the best pickles since so many years.

    Ingredients:
    Rajapuri Mango 1 KG
    200 Grams Salt
    Crushed Fenugreek Seeds 100 Grams
    Turmeric Powder 15 Grams
    Strong Asafoetida 25 Grams
    Reshampatti Chilly 200 Grams
    Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder 15 Grams
    Castor Oil 50 ml
    1 tsp Sugar
    200 ml Groundnut Oil
    5 Dry Red Chillies

    I made this last year but never gave my hubby. Last week due to heavy rains there was no sabzi so option was dal rice aacharya papad. When I served acchar he was like who gave this it's yummy. When I said I made it he could not believe. Now sabzi or no sabzi he wants aachar everyday. Thank you Viraaji ji 🙏🙏

    ખુબ ખુબ આભાર વિરાજભાઇ ઘણા વરસો પછી પારંપરિક અથાણાં ની રીત જોઇ. મારા દાદીમા મારાં મમ્મી આ પધ્ધતિ થી અથાણું બનાવે છે. આ મીઠા માથી બનાવેલ અથાણાં નો સ્વાદ ખુબ સરસ હોય છે. આ પદ્ધતિ નુ અથાણું બગડી જતુ નથી મને મારા દાદીમા ની યાદ આવી ગઈ. હુ આ પધ્ધતિ થી અથાણું બનાવું છું. ફરી વખત વિરાજભાઇ તમારો ખુબ ખુબ આભાર.

    My mother used castor oil in athanu . 1/2 peanut and 1/2 castor oil n it never lost its colour or fragrance… virajbhai your recipe bought bck my mom to me Khub badha ashirwad 🙏🏼✋🏼

    Viraj भैया हमने बनाया दादी जी का यह अचार उन्हें बताइयेगा बहुत ही टेस्टी बना है आपका बहुत बहुत आभार इतनी अच्छी चीजें सिखाने के लिए हमारे सिटी में रेशम पट्टा नहीं मिली कश्मीरी mirch ही दलाई पडी lal मिर्च के साथ लेकिन फिर भी बढ़िया बन गया अगली बार वही उसे करेंगे रेशम पट्टा और हान हमने तो और आम मांगा लिए और बनाएंगे husband achaar नहीं कहते थे लेकिन यeh वाला achaar ढूँढ कर खुद ही ले लेते है thank u एक और बार । कृष्ण जी आपको स्वस्थ्य रखें मस्त रखें राधे कृष्णा 🙏

    Hi ,Namaste virajbhai ,Thank you for sharing authentik Achar receipe.It is soooo----yummy and mouth watering.😋😋 Kya 100 gm methidal ke badle100 gm.raidal aur 50gm methidal dal sakti hoo kya.मी हमेशा raidal 1kg ke liye 100gmdalti hoo.kya ye praman sahi rahega.aur ek bad hamre yaha ek barish ke bad hi Achar banate he kya ye sahi hai,aajtak mera Achar kabhi kharab nahi huva hai. Kal mai achar bananewali hoo.sab tayari hochuki hai.isbar aapke jaisa achar banana chati hoo.Tank you so much.
