hey thanks for uploading this. this is my favorite performance of one of my favorite songs and brings me solace. I have his monologue about how we all live in a world where there are no such peanuts almost memorized.
I seem to remember him saying on some old video that he didn't want to play this because he wrote it about a pal who killed himself. I'm hoping I didn't imagine that, I can't find the video now. Either way, I'm glad he played it at that gig.
I saw two people talk about the clip you're refering to The first one thought the same thing as you, but the other argued, they misunderstood him. That John was refering to the shadow song and he was just annoyed, golden boy was being requested, when he sang a serious song, such as that one
you and i... your parents, your friends, your enemies, strangers... all live in a place where there are no such peanuts.
I love how the audience knows the words better than he does. I definitely had this on replay back in the day
I love the chior level devotion to admitted nonsense from the crowd. Perfection.
mr notasfarwest, you have probably been told this many times before, maybe by me, but you are absolutely doing god's work
This is one of my favorite songs from the goats. Just a simple, non-sensical reason for living good.
the kid's still got it
Look at that, something good that came out of 2020
Yea, but he called it. We are all in hell this year.
I boggled at the date for a second until I processed the month and realized, oh, the show was during the Before Times.
Thanks for posting this version it's my favorite
>goes on a ramble about how with no peanuts were in our own hell
>set was from February 2020, a month before quarantine
how poetic

poor john, people are still making him play this in 2020
he shouldn't have been as good a song writer then.

@@kermitthepog7063 I'm sorry, I don't know. I only saw that conversation and I don't think they mentioned, what show it's from
@@philardo No worries, thanks anyway :)
The levity of life
You can buy golden boy peanuts on ebay. I bought some. They haven't gotten here yet so I guess I'll see. Maybe they brought them back, lol.
