Just had the pleasure of hearing Jackie Evancho in Seattle March 24th at the Triple Door! What a talent, I have been a fan of this young girl since I heard her on the PBS special. What a treasure!
Miss Evancho does not pretend to be anything other than what she is, and that is a classical crossover singer who loves and becomes totally involved with the music. The vocal tones that you hear during any of her performances are from her natural singing voice. As a prodigy, and a musical genius, she is able to deliver any song, in 5 languages, with exactly the sound she wishes it to have. So far to date, she is the only female artist in her age group that possesses that sort of ability.
Wherever she goes in this world she is treated with respect, and rightfully so for she is an ambassador for what the world needs most, that being love itself.

I like this because she didn't try to copy Céline, which never bodes well for anyone. Céline is the only one who can do Céline and not fail. This girl stayed true to her own voice and made the song into her own. I prefer Céline, but this girl definitely is amazing!

As always, Jackie puts out a beautiful performance and is such a sweet and engaging interviewee. What I find surprising in this video is her translator, an adult Japanese lady, who is shorter than Jackie, and speaks perfect English without any hint of an accent.
You Tube website managers: Can we have some screening of comments that are clearly obscene and inappropriate? It takes away from the 99.9% of comments that are supportive and appreciative of this voice of the century, which I've had the pleasure of hearing in person twice! Thank you.
Granted, it's clear that they enjoy JEM's singing, but it doesn't look like some of them don't take her as seriously as we (in the US, Canada, and Britain) do. Personally, I think, from all the videos I'm seen of her, from her early "for RUclips" days, it is VERY CLEAR to me that JEM was mentally mature. JEM was a young lady at that point, and this quality about her is what she makes part of her singing attitude, which is what leaves us AWESTRUCK in whatever she does!
