Sherrard Remembrance 2022 - RPD Memorial Dedication

On 02/07/22 we held a dedication ceremony for our recently completed Richardson Police Department Employee Memorial. We wanted to share some of the moments from today’s ceremony as we remember fallen Officer David Sherrard. In this video, you can see one of the special ways we honor him with the design of the Memorial. A star is cut into the steel that covers the structure, where a wall plaque with David’s name is displayed. The star is positioned to illuminate David’s name exactly on this day of the year, using the sun as it passes over. The memorial is space for employees to reflect and remember in a private setting.
