As someone who has gone to gem shows, ruby is actually incredibly cheap. Only the best kinds sell for big prices, in most cases, you can get regular old rubies for less than ten dollars!

Doesn't Ruby have a bunch of industrial applications as well? I know it's used for optics and some tools, if i remember, like laser welding, stuff like that.

Math/physics major here, your understanding of resonance is pretty spot on for a layman’s description. Resonance doesn’t always indicate destructive possibility, it’s just the frequency at which the vibrations perfectly bounce back and build on themselves from the geometry of the material, causing the wave to build in strength. Musical instruments are constructed such that the resonant frequencies of the instrument (with adjustments from how you play) match the musical notes we all know.
The destruction (like what happens with bridges) occurs with structures that aren’t built to withstand those internal vibrations.
Yeah I was surprised, a lot of people don’t understand it or even know it’s a thing, at least the ones I know.
Though even the former type _can_ be a problem in some applications. Submariners refer to it as "singing" when a propellor hits its resonant frequency, and it can very easily result in being detected.

Fun fact: In most of the world, it's entirely illegal to list "love" as an ingredient in foods, but ONLY foods, and only if you do it in the actual ingredient list... Just printing "made with love" on the box is fine, but the ingredient list is meant for cold hard facts, and you are actually required to be able to PROVE how much of each listed ingredient is in the food you sell!
Not only that, but it is convention for ingredients to be listed in an order that represents their relative quantity, from most the least.

We don't need honey bees here, they are an invasive species only native to Europe. The colonists brought them across the pond and they quickly smothered the local pollinating insects because the colonists cared for them like cattle. The bees disappearing is just Nature taking back control.

Pretty sure the resonant destruction of bridges and the like is still possible.
It is in theory, but practically engineers usually ensure that no normal usage of a bridge can take it there. A lot of different materials, and variability in design is used to not allow the bridge to become fully resonant

How is nobody talking about how pyrite and lapis lazuli (a gemstone which contains pyrite) react with water and create sulphur. Like seriously, how is that stuff getting bought? The "psychic vampire repellant" would also smell like rotten eggs due to its sulphur content. So yeah, psychic vampires aren't the only things that will be repelled by the crystal egg juice's "vibrational scent healing".

Resonant Frequency is, in laymans terms, the frequency, or pitch, of a wave at which an object will resonate, or echo the wave within itself so that it perfectly amplifies the wave and makes it louder. The shattering of a crystal with ones voice waa caused when a singer matched the frequency the crystal resonated at and caused ot to vibrate so biolently with the sound that the crystal structure breaks; it's not built to withstand that internal vibration. Presumably, anything that behaves in waveform could be subject to this phenomena, provided that the given medium could resonate with it.
Also, Hertz is just a measure of how many things occur in a second, i.e. the frequency. It's normally used to measure sound since other wave-like phenomena, like light, tend to be measured by the distinct but closely related metric of wavelength.

Nothing farfetched about it, depending on the strength of the glass (you won't break a pane, but a thin crystal champagne flute or a slim whine glass) quite a few opera singers have broken glass. Though most of the time on purpose. It's not like they are on the stage and someone in the back of the hall with a glass will have it break, you do need to be fairly close.
