As a diehard Met fan, I say kudos to Nick for his classy response here, and his well-played division series
was expecting a really butthurt response but he was very professional
@@scuddbucket3300 i mean he did say the Phillies are a better team which is just pure cope
@@MrMlbtheshowbecause he plays for them?
@@JADZEL460 ok? He didnt have to say anything about who was the better team, he just lied for no reason
Mets fan here too. As a rule, I don't like any Philly team but the Mets players showed such respect for them, and vice versa, it was hard not to feel a little for them when they lost.
I love how defeated they all sound. Philly fans love to trash talk and discount the Mets and I'm happy we eliminated them at Citifield. LGM!!!
And one of our so called fellow fan is over here giving credit to their fanbase in an earlier comment
They have nick sirriani to make them laugh again
@lovellthagoat9936
I agree with the other commenter. Show some grace.
Iron sharpens iron. The NL East is an absolute BEAST. Mets, Phillies & Braves are all incredible teams. We play each other a lot which is draining but also hones these teams skills. All these teams are championship caliber.
My Mets are just a special team & full of heart & grit. They may not like each other & probably despise each other but there is nothing but mutual respect. There is no bad animosity. We tip our caps to the Phillies & Braves. Both the Phillies & Braves have been dominant for years. We lost the NL East title several years at the end of the season to the Phillies & Braves especially in 2007,2008 & 2009.
The Mets, Phils & Braves have been on both sides - sometimes you win & sometimes you lose. In the end there will be 4 more losing teams with only one World Series winner. It’s a long road still. Whatever happens it’s been a special season. All that matters right now is the NL Championship Series whether it’s the Dodgers or Padres.
You had a great season Phillies. There is no reason to hang your head. You can simply be proud of a fantastic season. Best of luck. Let’s Go Mets!🙂👍
As a Mets fan I have to admit Harper is a bona fide superstar. I felt the anxiety every time he was in the batters box and I felt some pitchers even feeling his presence there with the bad pitches to Turner. Walking him and the terrible pitches and I feel it was all because of Bryce.
Im here after an hour of mets content to see how sad they are. It is the extra dopamine i need to finish my day
Castellanos - RESPECT for these comments: "Watching Jose Iglesias.. Unify them.. is nothing short than incredible", "give them their credit, they beat us", "Do I think that they are a better team than us, No (what else he supposed to say?), But this series, they were". "It's not how you start, it's how you finish". BRYCE - "That's a really good team over there, pitched well, hit the hell out of the ball..." Gained a LOT of respect for These ball players. LFGM!!!!
Agree, they had good remarks
Lot of respect for Casty in particular, because he was obviously furious and kept it classy through that. That's hard to do.
I like when Bryce made no excuses for the game 1 loss. That the rest had nothing to do with their performance because the Mets were so lethargic for much of game 1 despite having the supposed energy coming from recent play
@@Waverider781 Facts - He's a real one.
Castellanos, JD, Iglesias were Detroit Tigers teamates.
Castellanos you had a heck of a series. And Bryce had me scared any time he came up to bat. Very thankful we got through this Phillies team and I think the respect goes both ways. But we’re movin on baby!! LFGM!!!!
Right, it was anxiety soon as he went to batters box.
* talking about Harper with comment. He’s no doubt 3rd best player in MLB after Ohtani and Judge. Every time he was up I felt he could go deep.
I'm a Phillies fan and what I saw from the Phillies all season long was an attitude that they saw themselves as champions. Every time they made a base hit they'd get to the base and they showed off by doing a shivering antic that got on my nerves very fast. If they want to show off they should do it in the dugout. This is a top-loaded team of show-offs with huge contracts and long extensions. The Phillies don't need to go out a sign another big name superstar hitter, the hitters they currently have are prone to becoming streaky. The Phillies need better pitchers, that's where they should spend their money. Will they? I doubt it. Dombrowski will probably make a bid for Soto if the Yankees don't re-sign him.
As a Mets fan, delighted of the outcome. This being said, the Phillies are an exceptional team and I admire what they accomplished this year. It just wasn't their year.
real recognizes real.
Dodgers fan here Phillies are a good team. Too bad Harper is a punk.
3 words.. phuck the phillies
Good response by Nick. Nevertheless it’s great to see them disappointed. The city of Philly really thought the Phillies were going to mop the floor with the Mets. The last regular season series they had in September set the tone.
Yeah Nick- " they found more holes than us". How bout the hole Lindor put in the back of the bullpen after his salami?!!!
Very classy!
Heartbroken !!!! Just heartbroken,,, mets enjoy the ride it’s awesome feeling to be coming home from work today wound up for more baseball!!! Mets played amazing… thank god for this Great game of baseball,, this is the most genuine act left in this world today in 2024 it hasn’t changed. God bless you, Muccini ( little neck queens ) I never thought I’d say this, but I’m rooting for yas
Couldn’t believe they didn’t sit Bohm more, his at bats were so bad.
yeah i was happy every time he came up. and his defense was atrocious as well
Yeah he was one of best players in the league earlier in the season but after his injury was never able to get his timing back.
I give Nick props. He’s always well spoken and thought out. Or at least he tries to be. Those are very mature professional answers. IMO.
So much for Philly owning the east 😒
Nick impressed with his response. I wish our politics would emulate him when it comes to accepting defeat.
Yo, Phillies are still THAT team!!! Just, WE got to THEM!!! Bryce has always been classy when the Mets moved on in the past. This was no different, his and Castellanos’ response was CLASSY!! Castellanos is straight forward and I would expect no different. He wears his pride on his sleeve and that’s what I expect from Caste!!! Schwarbomb is still one of the fiercest hitters in the game!! Phillies, it hurts tonight, have a good offseason, we’ll hold the National League East down for them!!!
Castellanos gives credit to his former Tigers buddy
Better team than the Mets is debatable. Mets back side of line up is arguably more consistent. Phillies bullpen is just as bad as NY at times. Mets let game 2 go, and shouldve swept. LGM
A fine example of honorable sportsmanship. Tip of the hat.
Castellanos, Harper, and Schwarber were all incredibly professional and gave our Mets the credit that they deserved after the series. All class act players.
Phillies came to play but the Mets proved that they were the better team. Onto the NLCS. LFGM.
As a Mets fan, of course I am ecstatic. But the Phillies have nothing to be ashamed of. They were the division winners and in my opinion, winning the division title over 162 games in an incredible achievement. Once the playoffs start, it's the hottest team at the right time that goes deep. The post season has become a tournament of 12 teams. Any team getting in has a shot to win it all. We've seen it time and time again in recent years. Last year, Arizona, a team with 84 wins got to the World Series. The two best teams, record wise, getting to the World Series seldom happens anymore. The Phillies had a great year. The Mets/Phillies rivalry should be a great one moving forward.
Hats off to the Phillies.
The PHILLIES could have knocked out the METS from Playoff Contention that last regular season Series but instead they lost 3 of 4 games. I guess the PHILLIES didn’t really want the possibility of facing the Diamondbacks again in the Playoffs.
They're a better team, deal with it Philly
Castellanos is the one class act on that team and the one guy who actually overperformed in this series.
As a Mets fan I can’t stand castellanos (on the field) as a human he’s a pretty good guy. Tough loss for such a high potential team. LGM! See you next year fellas.
No Nick the Mets are the better team in all facets of the game
I still would always say that 08 Phillies team is the best team ever
they are whispering like it's a funeral lmfaoooo feel bad for harper tho
This was a great series from the brewers before to Phillies now whoever we face LA or SD the Mets have a revenge tour on each of these teams and it’s bringing the best out of this Mets team
Their fans need to take notes
They didn’t even show up! No emotion no drive no fire nothing, I’m so disappointed in the phils
Was wheeler on short rest for this game?
Bohm doesn’t even seem to care at all. “It is what it is” smh
Wha Wha get them some tissues.
I mean.... not a single one of them was crying lol
@@Julian-jd5yj they're gonna cry in the car
@@ASAPBlazed ..... wouldn't you? hahahah
Oh well. LFGM!!!
I've been a Mets fan since 1969, and I have to admit it, the Phillies owned the loss. I think Nick Castellanos said it best, with his reference to the fact (admit it, fellow Mets fans) that the Phillies were the better team, on paper (even though he didn't use those words). Their problem was (and is) that the games are played on the field and not on paper. The Mets were the better team WHEN IT MATTERED. Castellanos and Harper both acknowledged that the Mets pitched better than the Phillies, so they gave their props to the Mets. The Phillies will continue to be a very, very good team, and so will the Mets. The next few years should be full of ups and downs for both teams and their fanbases. Having said all of that, LGM!!!!
Forget about paper. On the field the Mets are the better team since the end of May. For the majority of the season. Mets earned it and they deserved to win.
I liked Kyle and Bryce’s response the best
Dear Phillies, now maybe, just maybe, you'll understand. Sincerely, the Braves...
P.s. And this Mets team is by far worse than any of the Phillies teams that beat the Braves. Let that sink in ;)
“It is wat it is”
Phillies ain't going nowhere with nola , wheeler , castellanos, harper and trea turner y'all need a clean house in the team asap
Yeah, those guys are no good. 🙄
We arent a better team than them yet they barely got 1 win lol
We all own each other its funny
Brotherly love between the nl east siblings haha
ATL > NYM
NYM > PHI
PHI > ATL
Congratulations phillles onna great season but Let’s go Mets!
I would love castellanos on my team
If Harper wants to do more for his team on a personal level, then he could stop pouting on the bench and improve mentally. If things don't go well you can see he's already salty. Difference with us is that our team is unphased by those bumps.
Bryce has done almost as much as one person can for this team to win but sometimes it's not enough. Griffey, Bonds, Ichiro all great players that couldn't win a ring. Harper will probably be on that list and so will Trout.
Sorry nick we are better won this series and took 4 of 7 to end the reg season. Lgm.
You lost to the ws winners no shame
Got whooped
Stop crying
I can tell you what your issue is, you guys say things like “ball fell their way” “they hit the ball and it landed” acting like this whole thing was because the Mets got lucky. Start taking responsibility.
the mets are a better team than you lol there moving on and you aint lol your window of winning a world series in this era has closed buddy worry about being a philly next year nick lol
Met fans stop ✋🏻 mocking?.. These guys are millionaires!.. And you’re a broke working to make ends meet 👀🤣
At least they sad right now and I’m not 😂
womp womp head home
I do think the Phillies were the better team the Mets are just hot but credit to the awesome year Philadelphia had they might just be a closer and bat away from braking out and make it
The Mets are better. The better team won period. If the Mets wouldn’t have had the bad/slumping start in the beginning, they probably would’ve won the division.
