Hi! There are quite a few factors to consider when purchasing a PC to play any game. I myself have a Republic of Gaming Laptop, but I wouldn’t recommend a laptop due to the loud fans. These are the recommended requirements for The Sims 4:
OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 10 (64-bit) or macOS El Capitan (10.11)
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 or AMD Athlon X4
      MEMORY: 8 GB RAM
GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GTX 650 / AMD Radeon HD 7750 or better
STORAGE: 18 GB free space (plus extra for saved games and mods)
DirectX: Version 9 or 10 or 11 (Windows)
You can give and take with things like the graphics card, but the more recent models are always way better. Large storage is important if you plan on using a lot of custom content, and I’ll always recommend a large RAM.
PCs that meet these requirements and more can be very expensive. If you build your own PC, you could also update it over time.
As it relates to where I’d recommend you purchase a gaming PC (or parts), choose your favourite brand e.g. If you love HP, they have a line of gaming PCs, as well as towers that would more than fill the requirements. You can also hand pick each of the specs I just mentioned above. An HP tower I’ve seen and liked is the OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-2000t.
There are also other companies that will build and ship out you PC. I’ve never used one, so I don’t want to recommend any. However, most simmers publish the PC parts they used to build their tower in their channel description if that’s the route you like.
Eventually, I’d like to upgrade to a tower PC, as the game is actually very heavy.
      I hope this helps!❤️
