I almost bought a Canyon last year. Personally, I think it's the best looking of the mid-sized pickup. I didn't like how quickly the price increased to get what I wanted in the truck and I'm still not sold on the 4-cyl Turbos. I went with the Frontier and feel like it''ll be a 10 year truck for me.

This video is a joke. Nobody is selling their new Canyons any more than any other truck. This is essentially an opinion piece. I have a 2024 Canyon AT4. It's fantastic and as good or better than ANY other mid-size on the market. If you are considering the GMC, don't let this scare you.

I have 2023 Canyon and I have owned it for 14 months, on my 3rd battery and the emergency braking system is the worst I have ever experienced with how many false alarms with both the braking and "alert"? The auto off option at red lights is a joke it turns off for maybe 10 seconds before it turns itself back on not even lasting a red light. (this is with HVAC turned off) I wanted to keep this car for 8+ years but at this rate I will get rid of it before my warrantee runs out.

The biggest problem I have with this presentation is that the GMC Canyon was targeted; pretty much any vehicle type/model would fit in most of these categories. And some of the complaints aren't even complaints for most. Some of the descriptions of 'problems' are lauded as exactly what one would buy the vehicle for in the first place, so take this review with a grain of salt.

A small V8 option would be nice.

I got a cousin right now that has a new Silverado and its been in the shop more than he has driven it. He is running around in a Chevy Silverado EV they gave him while they wait on parts. Another buddy of mine got one and it already got a new engine and transmission. No way in hell will I consider buying one and I am A GM Guy. I would not consider a Ford either! Only truck I would buy now if I needed one is a RAM 2500 with the 6.4l Hemi. Never thought I would see the day when a Ram is better!

Brand dealerships in our area are drowning in a massive pool of unsold late 2023 and 2024 with plenty of 2025 Colorados and Canyons piling up as well. The Lovely Bride and I were in the market for a good used mid-size pickup back in November 2024. We test drove several very low mileage Ford, GM/GMC, Jeep, Nissan, and Toyota 2023 and 2024 models and were so disappointed in the poor build quality of the GM/GMC trucks we dropped them from contention early on. Ford was little better so off the list went the various trim levels of their mid-size. Since RAM does not offer a mid-size (at the moment) so it was up to Jeep and that did not work out well for that brand either. In the end it came down to an almost new 2024 Nissan Frontier and a very low mileage 2023 Toyota Tacoma. The driver's seat of the Nissan failed because, at just over 6'4" tall, I found myself VERY uncomfortable no matter what position the seat was in. The Tacoma won out simply because of the seating position for the driver (me most of the time) was just enough better than the Frontier as to make driving anything approaching a long distance "not painful" if that makes any sense to you.
