West Babylon, June 27, 2022, Truck & Boat fire

Babylon Central Fire Rescue Alarm, received calls for smoke in the area of Gershow Recycling on Muncy Ave at approximately 13:14 hours on June 28, 2022. The West Babylon Fire Department was activated. As units were responding a Town of Babylon Fire Marshal was on scene confirming a boat & truck fire and gave an updated location of Thorburn Ave. West Babylon's Truck Company 4 Lieutenant had command of the alarm, requested an additional engine to the scene from Lindenhurst & re-sounded for a working fire, which brought mutual aid from North Lindenhurst for a F.A.S.T. & Wyandanch-Wheatly Heights Ambulance Corp. for firefighter rehab. Units stretched two, inch & 3/4 handlines, & placed the master stream from ladder tower 1-9-4's bucket into service to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.
