Pretty solid offering, great to see a 50mm tire clearance for hitting the rough stuff. I'm a fan of 1x drives and wireless shifting (I realize they aren't fore everyone) so this bike checks all the boxes for me. I'm not sold on the paint colors / designs though.

Max chainring size reduced to 46/30 from previous gen with 50/34 is actually a step backward

GEN 3 Service Manual Specifications also show 45mm MAX TIRE WIDTH for 2X drivetrains...which is the same as Gen2. Only 1X drivetrain has 50mm MAX TIRE WIDTH.

It seems Trek doesn't like Shimano. All the models I saw on the Internet are SRAM-equiped. Do not know why.

Ok but why no shimano 2x option, I hate to see 1x on road and gravel bikes even I've been long time trek fan 😤, would also love to frequently use my gravel bike on road without spinning out too quickly, I don't want to own trillion bikes for every specific purpose. Guess I'll just go with new Nuroad c62 Race that Cube just revealed, seems like far better value.

Why did trek take away the 2x drivetrain for an all day gravel adventure bike? A 40 crank with a 11-44 cassette with electronic shifting doesn't sound like all day adventure gravel bike to me...gotta have a 2x or a different 1x crank/casette combo

You can technically still install FD by yourself with the attachment they sell. I am sure more drivetrain options will be offered later on.

@yukiko_5051 adventure riding includes carrying camping gear and whatever else you need for a week. That's a small part of my assumptions for adventure riding. Perhaps my definition is too extreme for you? What are your assumptions? Or can you easily climb 30 pounds of gear with a 40 x 44?

@@TheKos2Kos If you really want to haul tons of stuff, go get 3x. There's 3x crank with 22t, now combine it with 51t cog and you can climb vertically. But i doubt you want triple, right? Lol

Trek has soo many bikes and stuff, maybe too many, but having a second option in drive train was not a possibility? .. this sucks, don't want electronic, don't want sram, don't want 1x.. and it's getting too damn expensive. I probably going to another brand this time.
