Thanks for the great video! I'm wondering if the tumbler makes the balls smoother? Sometimes the balls look pitted. I don't have a tumbler but have used one when I did some silversmithing classes. Thanks!
I don’t notice them getting smaller. They’re only in the tumbler for an hour or two anyway. I kinda like the pitted look myself. Gives it that “artisan look” I think.
Yes, the tumbler makes them smoother! It only takes my tumbler about 20 minutes! I love it! I tumble all my ear wires, makes them beautiful, and you don't have to file the part that goes into the ear! Also takes out any small nicks that you might have made. Also makes the wire harder!
@@ZurickDesigns pure copper is a low risk allergen, far less people will have a problem with copper than say, stirling silver that contains nickel. I never understood why nickel is commonly used in jewelry, so many people are allergic to it. Now those silver colored copper wires can be a problem because you don't know exactly what is in the silver alloy coating. Should just be tin, but china manufacturers are sneaky 🤷

Just what I was looking for ❤
Looking for a method I grew with to give to my metal clay students. Good process! :)
Wonderful!
Thank you, I just made my first earwires. I like how you added the ball at the end. Great video and I learned something new too.

Good one, thank you. I have what I need to torch yet I am still hesitant to try, not sure why. Some day :)
I hear ya! At least the little butane torches are manageable!
Hi so I just bought some of these how exactly would you use them to make jewelry like I mean add some beads to them
You can hang charms, bead dangles or anything you want from them for earrings
A lot of extra work....... Never seen it done this way ever, but if you like it, go for it.

I use stainless steel shot, water and a tiny bit of soap.
I use dead soft round sterling silver.
Thank you for this demo. Just wondering what options there are if you don’t have a tumbler please?
You could use half hard wire and/or hammer them bit with a rawhide mallet to harden them up
Why do they need pickle and what’s in that? Thanks
Pickle will remove fire scale. I use warm vinegar with salt. 1 cup/ 1 TBL spoon
Hi lovely video, thank you, very clear and instructive! What's a tumbler though?
I use a rock tumbler with stainless steel shot and it with polish, harden and burnish jewelry.
How long do you tumble them?
Plain metal, about an hour or two.
Great tut! Can you put silver in the same pickle pot you use for your copper?
Great question! I don’t think so. I know you don’t want to introduce iron but just copper and silver should be ok 👍🏻
What kind of tumbler/medium did you use?
I use this cheap plastic tumbler with steel shot.

What about ball the ends of copper?.
I haven’t made copper eat wires TBH. Can many people wear them?
@@ZurickDesigns
I’m not sure, however, I wear copper ear wires.
