I have got the Sigma for some years now and unfortunately use it not often enough ! It is such a good lens indeed and deserves to be used just more often --- but it is quite big and heavy and chunky and that is why one is often leaving it at home when on short photo trips ...😆
I like these practical lens comparisons that you do occasionally. I have a question: you've compared the Tamron 15-30 and the Sigma 14-24 with the Nikon 14-24. It appears theres a slight advantage to both 3rd party lenses over the Nikon. What I'm very interested to know is, between the Tamron and the Sigma, which do you prefer? There's not a single video review that I can find that takes on that comparison.
I'd probably go for the Sigma over the Tamron. It should have less vignette and you get that extra mm on the wide end. Beyond that, they will both perform well for nightscapes and landscapes.
Haha, maybe! I currently only have access to my Nikon 14-24mm. I may get the opportunity to test out the new Tamron here in a few weeks. If I do, I'll be sure to at least compare it with the Nikon.
Great video. You have answered one of my questions with unprecedented detail.
Thanks, glad to hear it!
chromatic aberration can be corrected easily , yes?

Good info but you should bump up your volume a bit.
Thanks Peter for your efforts, truly appreciate these videos :).
Thank for your review. Would you have the chance to compare it with the Sigma 14mm f 1.8 prime.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to either lens

Can you make a test between these two lenses and the new Tamron SP AF 15-30mm 2.8 Di VC USD G2 for Astrophotography. THX

Peter Zelinka :D Dobre video, máš dobrú anglinu.
What camera did you use. I must of missed that
Nikon D750
do you have comparison of tamron 15-30mm and sigma 14-24mm?
I do not, however I have compared the Nikon and the Tamron. So it would be largely the same.
If you had corrected CA in lightroom you'd find that Nikon is better!!!
Le nikon a plus d'angle de champ à 14 mm ...
