StarCraft 2: GAME OF THE YEAR! (So Far)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 ноя 2024
- Goblin versus Krystianer in an epic game of professional StarCraft 2. It's a bit early to call it the best game of SC2 of this year already, but it surely is the best so far. In this Protoss versus Protoss neither player ever manages to secure a solid economy so an intense micro battle is the only option.

Looking forward to the next game of the year cast next week 😎
ball boys, plural, implies that there are multiple ball people. Are you the lizard men in the sewers my friend was talking about?
@@ZergIingLover shh
@@ballboys607 I've found you out. The games over, ball man.
That's optimistic of you thinking we will go a whole week before the next game of the year.
Its only april and we have already had so many games of the year. SC2 is still kicking out banger games
I think this actually is the most entertaining PvP I have ever seen
Z?
it's TvT you newb.
nice bait m8
@@holti21 Bait mates are the best
@@Axolotls_out i'm drunk
26:37 We were all just as hyped watching it as you were casting it. That's a heck of a move!!!!!
Rebuilding at the base with no minerals was the game-losing move
That is quite probably it. I can see the urge to take that easier to defend spot though. Especially with DT still out on the map.
Yeah it just gave Kristy too much of an eco advantage
Bad life choices.
Is it just me, or are games between somewhat lesser-known pro players far more intense?
Serral does have the unique skill to make pro games look almost boring.
@@LowkoTV Lol. Guess that's what peak efficiency looks like.
It's like college sports too, the games are messier and thus more intense than the pro scene
@@LowkoTV competition and a back and forth makes it interesting. Serral dominating and just dismantling people does not have the same amount of suspense

24:38 Holy crap, that's a huge nerf if Hallucinated Phoenixes can now be surrounded by Probes. I hope they fix that sometime soon.
Oops
@@LowkoTV Well it makes sense! If you look closely, probes don't touch the ground so technically they fly. No reason they shouldn't be able to surround a phoenix if you think about it. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@wanderhillen2435 Dude you just seriously buffed High Templar. Careful now....
@@zaksmith1035 Oooh flying high tempars would be extremely spicy. Imagine a "drop" of a few HTs floating into your main and storming the mineral line! At the same time, I notice that drones and SCVs also seem to be floating so perhaps that would enable some extremely interesting new strategies like the "double hatch in opponents base before spawning pool".
@@zaksmith1035 If High Templar could fly, would they become Higher Templar?
You should keep a tally of all the games of the year this year and then revisit them at the end of the year and decide the grand final game of the year :D
Or come up with original names for the games you cast.
@@Seldomheardabout Game of the.. week? Fair enough.
@@sebytro I would not be mad at that. It's not a lie.
That stasis ward into purification nova was freaking SURGICAL, absolute banger of a game wow.
Wow, I was just wondering if you were going to cast any PvP, here we are!
I honestly thought this would be overhyped because it's a mirror matchup after all but this was CRAZY
That perfectly timed purification nova😍
The hype is real!!!
Everytime the late game ends with early game units we get a "game of the year"
Understandably.
This video is a good birthday present, thank you Lowko
I love those games between great but not the best players, the mistakes they make bring so much fun to the watch
It makes the purification novas much more intense to watch knowing there’s a more likely chance there will a big boy rather than just a zoneing tool
The million dollar shot: Goblin cast the 2 purification novas intentionally with a short delay. The first one was about 0,2 seconds to early, the second one was almost perfect - fantastic micro!
26:32 The most hype i've seen Lowko have in years lmao
That game was awesome. I'm glad you casted it.
A great game, love it when games go down to the wire like this. It reminds me of the old SC2 games, where you started with fewer probes. I like that back then the game felt a little slower, as it gave more importance to each unit on the field, allowing for more micro, rather than the macro/micro you see nowadays.
The only downside was there was a very slow buildup and the first 5 mins were usually boring to watch, unless you're watching the Terran float his main base to the Gold to start the game lol.
The more games of the year the better!! Every time you post a game of the year I totally watch it
This is a lot like college vs professional sports. The college level are still ridiculously skilled, but are not perfect. Those little imperfections produce so much more friction in the game and make it a hell of a lot more interesting.
First pro game I tried watching and actually stayed to the end in any video game ever in my 32 years. Holy shit, that was crazy.
Emotional rollercoaster. Would watch again.
10/10
Watch Harstemcasts featuring this match. He is a good caster and brings completely different information to the table but it is still interesting and entertaining.
I think I realised what I like so much about Warcraft 1, and that's the low unit count. I see in the early game, the value and strategy and scouting are the most vital parts of the early game and then later its just macro and then macro-micro-sustain production. I think that's what RTS needs if its going to survive to capture the more dynamic early game phase, rather than the dynamic late game where you just throw blobs.
26:30 money shot right there. Absolutely unbelievable.
What a game! Haven't seen a PvP like that in a long time.
At 27:20 Goblin should have go for his own Dark Shrine instead of saving for Nexus. He already have Twilight Council and just enough money and gas (150/150 for Shrine + 125/125 for DT).
I think his opponent still had observers out on the field. I don't remember goblin ever getting rid of them. Would definitely have been a spicy idea that's for sure.
@@Endofnames i think the oracle spotted one observer and killed it, don't think there were observers left?
Pleasantly surprised it was not overhyped at all. Exciting game. GJ by both players.
Its soo funny to see you soo happy when the disruptor hit the stalkers ::))))
I was on the edge of my seat ever after that base-race, good game!
This was one of the most entertaining games ever! Thanks for the great casts as always
My poor neighbors have to deal with me screaming while I watch starcraft. If they knew how SICK that stasis ward and disruptor shot was, they would have screamed too.
I'm even gonna leave a comment for the great casting👌
dang...that were a lot of but clenching moments 😱
I think the main reason goblin took the opponents mostly mined natural was for defense. He knew the opponent had DTs and was being adventurous with the stalkers, using stasis wards (as seen in game) could make the base very easy to defend due to the natural choke point. all it would take is a random DT run-by or even the stalkers diving on the mineral line to possibly eliminate goblin's eco and thus lose the game.
I think it could of been a win for goblin simply if he cut 2 or 3 of the cannons to make the nexus several minutes earlier to ramp up his eco with a healthy base but hindsight is 20/20
"Could of"
Best game of SC2 I have seen! Incredible performance by both these pros!!
This game was nuts! Definitely my fave so far this year!
What the actual frikandellen did I just see? This was the sickest game of PvP I've seen in a loooong time. :D
holly mother of god...waw! i was cringing half of the game and for the last 1/3 i was literally on the edge of my seat! :O intense AF! can't imagine how they felt when playing it!
Holy shit, what a game.
this what i can only describe with "stepping on land mines and getting away with it"
Lovely to see Lowko so hyped all the game xD
Feel like it's been years since a Protoss V Protoss game haha
Goblin really shot himself in the foot by taking a depleted base.
Game of the year starts at 33:04
I haven't watched a full game in like months but holy fck this was the one to watch
that was really fun to watch. maybe even game of the year!
I took the one second for you. This game made me smile after a pretty awful last few weeks. :]
Hey Lowko, Hope you are having a wonderfull day so far.
26:32 - HE TRIED WHAT YOU SAID LOOOOL
Great cast, lowko! Doing great work!
Harstem mentioned it during the latest SC2Day that this game was bonkers, looking forward to watching it after work
the strange choice in base-locations aside, this was a banger of a match!
Dobar Dan Goblin!
I watched this first with Harstem and decided to see how you would cast it. The difference was really interesting and I enjoyed both of them for different reasons.
I wish more games were like this! Holy heck
Goblin screwed himself. Was sitting on 500 minerals for almost 2 minutes he did eventually put down the pylons he needed along with some Photon cannons but putting those down faster would have ramped up probe production faster, and one less Cannon would have made a big difference. Placing down that Nexus in the top right hand corner of the map would have done him way better than putting it in the opposing natural. Putting the last Nexus down in the defensive Third Base rather than the standard one also could have changed things and he could have gotten those probes out much quicker when the enemy was retreating. If he had also just dropped a Nexus in the top right-hand corner when he had his army base Trading Pink probably wouldn't have scouted that in time.
Wow! Phoenixes can be surrounded by probes now! :D
well played fantastic pvp. props to both krystainer and goblin for a highly entertaining game. and of corse thank you lowko for a great cast as always
Impossible to have a game of the year so close to a patch. I'm just going to assume you said "A really really good game. Like, a banger of a game. Really good, guys. REALLY good."
Amazing! Thanks Lowko
this time i feel that the name of the video is earned :D thanks Lowko
Very good cast! You are a great inspiration for me.
Amazing game!
Thank you Lowko!
Games like this are what make me wish that I were somewhat close to horrible at SC2 so I could get blown up by everyone in a fun manner.
THAT WAS INSANE.
And another one go
And another one go
Another one bites the dust!
What a friggin nail-biter of a match!!! :D
wow ! quite a game, true action, something really happening
Have you seen Zest vs Ryung GSL round of 20? The final match is insane
At 11:05 should have destroyed that pylon and game over for goblin
24:42 I did replay this 5 times ... but there is no Phoenix on the map ... What he is talking about ... some changes in new Patch ...probe can shoot up to sky? so confusing :P
Why did goblin build a Nexus at the mined out natural and then at the location right in front of Krystianer instead of hiding it at the 3 o'clock location?
High ground, only one entrance. He really didn't want the Nexus to die.
If this game were any scrappier, it'd be in the box Tony stark used to make his first iron man suit
WHAT!!! STRAIGHT MADNESS!
I'd say it is the game of the year so far. Let's hope we get even better games!
omg this was probably the most amazing game of SC2 i ever saw :D
That was dope
That was a see saw of emotions
When I saw 2 Protoss players commit to a base race I was super disappointed. Then I realized one player had 4 Disruptors left... Oh no! LOL
Wild start. Crazy end! Could have gone either way so many times!
damn i changed my mind who would win in this one so many times that i lost count. Pretty impressive.
Harstem is the Thor of the StarCraft community
0:27 - it's got a lot of hype there Lowko... It also seems to have a lot of high pitched referrals - Bah, Tsing!
Play starcraft amongst other things with me, pluh-heese.
Very nice game though. Love more Protoss, More Protoss = More Better!
what in the absolute death-struggle did i just watch
Beautiful match one of the best games I have seen in a while
Anytime I see game of the year and see a Protoss in it I know I’m about to see some pro bowlers getting the biggest strikes ever seen don’t let me down
I remember like a year ago i had the bright idea of making a hidden base with all tech structures so if my main got killed i could easily start again. Not once did it help me
@Michael Lochlann yea i didnt realize that for some reason
Best channel on RUclips!!!
Ok yeah, this is a real contender for game of the year :D
Do a top ten games series RUclips saw/casted. One per video
woohoo! best game ever on my birthday. thanks starcraft for this awesome gift.
Absolute Banger
that was nice, but i feel like goblin could won if he is not taking that almost empty base then he got stuck later on , while krist had a full base
Wow that was insane!
I swear one of these days it’s gonna be a viewer submitted where nothing happens till the 50 minute mark
Should cast game of the year every day of the week for a week but it's for past years.
